The Hollywood Foreign Press Association And InStyle toasted to the 2017 Golden Globe Award Season with a star-studded celebration last night. Embellishment, bold hues, prints, and loads of texture were all on display.
Let’s get into who wore what for the festivities!
Naomie Harris went bold in a yellow sequin Ralph Lauren Collection dress. Hot!
Ruth Negga and Valentino are a sartorial match made in heaven. Case in point: her latest pink beaut from the iconic Italian fashion house.
Christina Milian added a subtle sparkle to the night in an embellished number.
A simple Antonio Berardi LBD looked positively sensational on Jessica Chastain.
Ariel Winter followed Jessica’s lead in a ruched little black dress. This was fab!
Riley Keough certainly turned a few heads in a black and white printed Louis Vuitton dress with strong shoulders and cutout detailing. Not for the faint of heart, but she pulled it off.
I’m giving a total thumbs-up to Michelle Monaghan’s silver Off-White pleated maxi dress.
Cynthia Addai-Robinson was pretty in pink in a strapless, metallic-belted Romona Keveza dress. Simple and chic, no?
A C/MEO Collective chartreuse slit dress was on the agenda for Otmara Marrero. I need to see more of her out and about: her style is impeccable!
Another LBD was served up for the evening on Emmanuelle Chriqui. Beautiful.
Angela Sarafyan was on-trend in a vibrant, off-the-shoulder orange gown with a thigh-high slit. She nailed this!
Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes cut a fine figure in a grey, three-piece suit.
Jessica Parker Kennedy beamed in a black and royal blue, sheer embroidered dress.
Hailee Steinfeld’s asymmetric-shoulder embroidered top and matching ruffled mini were absolutely flawless.
Jenna Dewan Tatum added sultry red lips to her sheer Zuhair Murad jumpsuit. What’s a fashionable fĂŞte without a look from the designer?
Kate Beckinsale was radiant in a red off-the-shoulder Mugler dress and gold metal choker. She’s definitely one of my red carpet faves!
Her satin dress features a low scoop neckline, thigh-high slit, and adjustable cross back straps.
Her patent leather sneakers boast black contrast elasticated inserts, padded cuffs and tongues, back tab, a round toe-silhouette, and white chunky soles.
Cute!

Zoe Kravitz sizzled at the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them New York City Premiere, slipping on an Alexander McQueen Spring 2017 Black Sheer Embellished Web Lace Gown:
Zoe eschewed the runway’s choker, but did wear its statement-making drop earrings.

In celebration of my time here in Lagos, I wanted to show love to Nigerian designers, Bombers, Bombshells, and more!
So today’s Bomb Product comes courtesy of Rahyma, whose Mango Classic Blazer and Pencil Skirt are on my lust list this season:
Crafted out of 100% cotton, the blazer has padded shoulders and a classic fit. The pencil skirt falls right below the knee and has a back slit.
In addition to being bomb, Rahyma’s pieces are also affordable! Purchase the skirt for $40 here; get the blazer for $139 here. I love this.
What do you think? Would you wear it?
High-fashion loving women who aren’t currently wearing Stella McCartney designs want to be sporting the brand’s pieces—that’s just fact. Her wares are easy and functional, with an effortless cool and touch of menswear-inspired flair. And she’s now giving men something to covet as well, after having announced her foray into the category this Summer. Her first collection for the gents is brimming with sleek and simple looks that the world’s style stars are probably already clamoring to wear.
Her initial ensembles were not without character or that signature McCartney whimsy—tailored suit jackets are paired with cropped trousers accented by knee zips, while printed socks are tucked neatly into open-toe leather sandals. And she has stuck to her commitment of fur and leather-free designs as well.
Mackintosh coats came in plaids and traditional khaki and sweaters were cozy and wearable.
Graphics aren’t going anywhere and hummingbird-emblazoned jackets and colorful, text-accented shirts and tees radiated the biggest amount of purchasing power from the collection.
The assortment will be up for pre-order on McCartney’s site today.
Happy Friday, folks!
In the spirit of my trip to Lagos, I wanted to put you on to Osengwa, an online African marketplace where consumers can buy pieces from Nigerian designers including high end brands like Orange Culture, Sisiano, I Am Isigo, and Tzar.
In addition to clothing, you can also indulge in and purchase art, pillows, and more.
On their website, they write, “[Osengwa] is an occasion to see, hear and feel voices of the new generation of artists birthed from the continent but influenced by the continuously evolving spectrum of global culture. As a collection of lovingly curated pieces of contemporary African influenced art, music, clothing and designs; it provides a platform for immersion and participation in the Neo- African movement.” Indeed.
Toni Garrn looked every bit the model at the 23rd Opera Gala Event in Aid of the German Aids Foundation—donning a $3,122 Balmain Black Embellished Bodycon Dress:
Her bodycon LBD features golden hook detailing and a sleeveless silhouette.
