A glowing Natalie Portman was in attendance at the AFI Fest Jackie premiere in Los Angeles: a biopic in which she lends her acting chops to take on playing the role of former first lady Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy. For the evening’s affair, the actress chose a Christian Dior Spring 2017 White Embellished Gown.
Having her dress modified, by removing the structured bodice as seen on the model, to beautifully accentuate her baby bump, the depiction of a smiling sun bursting with beams of sparkly hearts and flowers masterfully emblazoned on white tulle was such a whimsical treat. A white dinner jacket and a subtle smokey eye elevated Portman’s look to true red carpet levels. The film is getting rave reviews, and so is this look. Hot! There was a lot of thought put into using such a delightful gown to remind us how joyous motherhood can be. And it seems to be doing Portman just fine. Her little co-stars (both playing John Jr. in the film) seem to agree. Her gown isn’t available for purchase just yet, but you can take a look at the rest of the collection here. So, what do you think of Natalie Portman’s look?
The high-fashion events are non-stop this time of year! Glamour’s Women Of The Year 2016 Extravaganza went down last night with our favorite actresses, supermodels, singers, athletes, and more in attendance.
Let’s get into the evening’s looks!
Zendaya Coleman was a vision in a Reem Acra LWD with contrast, blush pink rosette-embroidered sleeves. Flawless, as usual.
Chanel Iman looked every bit the model in a silver sequin KAUFMANFRANCO gown. Giving a total thumbs up to this look.
Tracee Ellis Ross smoldered in a red, midi shirt dress with a low-cut neckline. This was gorgeous!
Everything was coming up florals for Yara Shahidi in a Cynthia Rowley ensemble in the classic pattern, anchored with Alexander White shoes.
Ashley Graham certainly turned a few heads in a sheer beaded Galia Lahav Couture jumpsuit. I need this piece in my closet stat.
Gwen Stefani brought the drama in a wispy dip-dyed Marchesa gown with a plunging, crisscross bodice, peplum waist, and full skirt.
Kat Graham glimmered in a silver shirt dress.
Keke Palmer served up a fun spin on the classic LBD with a mini length, white contrast collar and sleeve cuffs, and gold button accents.
Colorblocking was on the menu for Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles in a black and cobalt number.
Constance Wu donned a white jumpsuit with silver chevron embroidery. Beautiful, no?
Mindy Kaling kept it simple and chic in an Alexa Wagner LBD.
Rashida Jones’s silver gown injected an added dose of sparkle into the evening.
Jenna Dewan Tatum certainly made a few women green with envy, clad in a $460 Solace London Piper Maxi Dress in the bold hue. Hot!
Lace, an illusion neckline, and beaded embellishment came together for Freida Pinto’s glamorous Reem Acra gown.
Angela Sarafyan gave a pop of color to her classic black and white Juliana Bass gown with red lips. Hot!
The Queen of Thursday Night, Shonda Rhimes shimmered and sparkled in a gold embellished dress with black lace accents.
Leona Lewis was the lady in red, slipping on a sequin maxi dress in the fiery hue. She’s stunning.
Cynthia Erivo sizzled in a black sheer, floral embroidered crop top and maxi skirt.
Orange silk satin and embellishment were on the agenda for Anna Wintour. Iconic. Honestly. Truly.
Jenna Lyons continued to be style goals in an army green utilitarian, cropped jacket, floral printed shirt, pink full skirt, and silver embellished pumps. She can do no wrong!
Rachel Zoe beamed in an off-the-shoulder metallic gown from her very own collection. Who does boho chic better than Rachel?
Cara Delevingne served up dark romance in a smoldering, black sheer Elie Saab gown.
It was all about structure for Demi Lovato in a Zac Posen top and boned skirt for the evening.
Rowan Blanchard uplifted a simple pink midi dress with statement-making accessories. She’s adorable!
Happy Monday!
The kind folks at GT Bank invited me to Lagos, Nigeria to teach a Blogging Masterclass as apart of their Fashion Weekend! In addition to offering master classes, GT Bank gives smaller designers the opportunity to sell their wares to the public during the day, and has fashion shows at night.
Day 1 featured designs by Julien Macdonald, Adama Paris, and Lanre de Silva Ayaji.
Take a look at what guests wore to attend the show:
Her mother Nkiru Anumudu slays all day! She made a statement in Gareth Pugh pants and a Marie Mercia hat.
This stylista uplifted a sheer shirt and jeans with ruffled Rochas sandals.
These ladies slayed the front row in gorgeous Gele head wraps and matching dresses. They were a vision.
This young man’s printed ensemble and sparkly shoes just about made my night.
And actress Rita Dominic made a statement in plaid and ruffles.
As for me, I wore a Rue 107 bralette, a jacket by Midget Giraffe, and jeans by Nigerian brand Le Victoria – Zephan and Co.
Inside, I greeted various VIP’s, including Segun Agbaje, the Managing Director of GTBank.
Smiled with designers and actresses, including Lanre de Silva Ayaji and Rita Dominic.
And took pictures and selfies with Fashion Bomb Readers!
Afterwards, our creative director, Kelley Carter, and I attended a reception, where we met up with Ndidi, the owner of Designers Club Lagos.
More to come on TheBombLife.com! There are WAY more pictures, but I”m boarding my flight to JFK. More to come!

Her gauzy silk dress features sequin fish appliqués, a ruffled mock neckline, covered buttons at the left side, three-quarter bell sleeves, princess seams, and a layered ruffle hem.
Another night, another high-fashion event! The 5th Annual Baby2Baby Gala also went down this weekend, with our favorite singers, supermodels, actresses, entrepreneurs, and more in attendance!
Here are the night’s hottest looks!
A teal, silk satin draped ensemble was on the agenda for Kelly Rowland. Flaw-free as usual.
Jessica Alba was the belle of ball in a black tulle Valentino confection. Beautiful!
What’s a gala without a style star in Zuhair Murad? Camila Alves added red lips to her black, lace panel gown from the designer.
Michelle Monaghan made us wish for Spring in a floral embroidered Johanna Ortiz dress. I love this brand’s designs.
Rachel Zoe revealed that her sons picked out her Valentino gown on Instagram! Clearly, great taste runs in the family.
The ever-so-chic Scarlett Johansson made an appearance at the global trailer launch for her new film Ghost in the Shell as she donned an avant-garde lavender selection from Atelier Versace‘s Fall 2016 Couture presentation:
While the same piece was modeled on the runway (with eye-catching footwear and oversized hoop earrings), the model’s version incorporates bolder accessories that allow the dress to shine to its full ability.
Now, I’m a bit of sucker for dramatic accents: cue whimsical detailing and contrasting graphic prints… But, this particular ensemble did nothing for me. Scarlett even looks a little confused about her ‘fit…
Actress & singer Lea Michele was on hand for The Grove’s Christmas with Seth MacFarlane celebration in Los Angeles while wearing a Lela Rose Resort 2017 One Shoulder Gold Embellished Midi Dress and black cutout peep toe heels.
The sophisticated number boasts a banded waist, a clean silhouette and a retro-inspired aesthetic. Pretty chic, no?
This is such a lux piece! And, I believe it was very fitting for the occasion. I adore the way it’s styled on the model (with the gorgeous metallic platforms)!
Today’s Fashion Bombshell is Shannae from Toronto:
She writes, “I would describe my style as mood driven with a trendy twist. My mood tends to influence the colors that I wear and the comfort level of my attire.”
“I consider myself to be a bubbly and happy person, so if I’m not wearing color I make sure that I incorporate a rouge lip and my welcoming smile.”
“I wouldn’t say that one person is my style Icon. However, I find that I’m inspired by June Ambrose’s style choices. I also love a classic sexy and sultry look paired with a statement necklace and jacket.”
“My Instagram style crushes are @Awedbymoni, I love how she incorporates contemporary and luxe pieces into every look. I also love @Momcrushmonday, I consider her to be #Goals on so many levels!”
“I guess my style is a bit all over the place but it works for me!”
“Lastly, I’m expecting my first child, so finding the perfect look to match my bump has been a bit of a challenge. I’ve promised myself that I would stay true to my style, wear heels, and continue to smile no matter what.”
