Thandie Newton put a fun spin on the tried and true black and white combo in a polka dot Monse dress. I always love a good Thandie red carpet moment.

Naomie Harris wore legendary British brand Thom Browne. It was a BAFTA tea party after all!

The timeless pattern was also on the agenda for Ruth Negga, who was clad in a midi-length LBD from The Vampire’s Wife. Isn’t she gorgeous?

More florals! Edwina Findley-Dickerson slipped on a form-fitting colorful dress in the timeless print. The second flawless look of the weekend from this beauty.

Polka dots are clearly making their presence felt this awards season, as Emma Stone also chose them in a copper-hued DVF dress.

The iconic brand was also Trace Lysette’s choice—a black lace $598 Diane von Furstenberg Kyara Jumpsuit.

I would totally wear Sophie Turner’s gold spike necklace, grey long-sleeve top, high-waist black and gold cropped trousers, and black leather booties—all by Louis Vuitton.

Amy Adams beamed in a little black dress from Dolce & Gabbana. Can’t wait to see what she wears tonight!

Octavia Spencer toughened up her lace-embroidered flare dress with a black leather jacket.

J’adore Dior! And so does Lily Collins. I loved her textured dress for the evening.

Bryce Dallas Howard was draped in a strapless midi Victoria Beckham frock.

Carolina Herrera was Christina Ricci’s choice for the evening—a blue striped ruffle piece to be exact.

Hailee Steinfeld flaunted her mile-long stems in a mint Elie Saab mini dress. She’s always flawless!

The Night Of actress Amara Karan was the epitome of elegance in a two-tone, black and white dress.

Tom Hiddleston repped for the fellas in a burgundy double-breasted suit. Handsome, no?

Raza Jaffrey couldn’t have been more dapper in an expertly-tailored navy pairing. Completely swoon-worthy.

Black and yellow never looked so chic on Niecy Nash. I’m living for her striped skirt!

Who had your favorite look at the fête?

Tinie Tempah is one of my fashion faves and a regular at both menswear and womenswear fashion weeks all around the world. Well, he is now stepping onto the runway himself, as he just debuted his new menswear collection during the London Fashion Week Men’s January 2017 collections: aptly titled What We Wear.

And “What We Wear” couldn’t have been a more fitting name because the designs are completely functional and look like the exact pieces Tempah would rock both on and off the red carpet. Sleek bomber jackets and dapper takes on the classic sweat pant were all on the agenda—anchored with practical trainers in black and white.

A transparent Mackintosh coat was one of my favorite pieces on display along with its shorter counterpart, though I have a feeling the brand’s logo t-shirts will be the most sought after and retail-friendly pieces.

The collection will be available in April 2017, so make sure to pick up your favorite looks before Tempah’s nearly 800K Instagram followers do.

Thoughts on What We Wear’s debut?

The 2017 Film Independent Filmmaker Grant and Spirit Award Nominees Brunch went down in West Hollywood today, with our favorite actors, actresses, filmmakers, and directors in attendance. Simple and chic looks were on the agenda for most of the ladies and gents in attendance.

Let’s get into the brunch’s looks, shall we?

Ruth Negga kept it simple and chic in a beige, off-the-shoulder top with long sleeves, white high-waist trousers, and a $1,000 Saint Laurent Gold Small Love Heart Shoulder Bag. I live for her style.

Issa Rae couldn’t be missed in a $139 Omi Woods Coral and Purple The Leila Maxi Skirt. I hope she wins big tomorrow!

Ava Duvernay was the lady in red, slipping on a belted flare Oscar de la Renta dress in the fiery hue. She’s stunning.

Riz Ahmed was dapper in an expertly-tailored black suit.

Tichina Arnold offset a bustier-inspired LBD with a white printed blazer.

This Is Us’s Sterling K. Brown was polished in a black suit, accented by a baby blue shirt.

Moonlight filmmaker Barry Jenkins was pared-down, yet refined in a classic pairing.

Jean of the Joneses director Stella Meghie was all about neutrals for the brunch.

I’m mildly obsessed with actress Edwina Findley-Dickerson’s black and navy mesh Jonathan Simkhai dress. Hot!

Blue plaid was on the agenda for Trevante Rhodes, who was clad in a Strong Suit duo.

The timeless hue was also Mahershala Ali’s choice for the event. I loved the way he uplifted it with a red pocket square and brown leather shoes.

Garcelle Beauvais was spotted at the Sleepless Los Angeles Premiere in a $107 Bardot Black and White Marlee Jumpsuit:

Her two-tone jumpsuit features ruffle detailing, a keyhole accent, and a cold shoulder neckline.

Let’s get into our favorite celebrity looks of the week.

1) Ruth Negga in Valentino

Ruth Negga stunned on the 2017 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala red carpet as she donned a plunging sheer floral embroidered gown from Valentino’s Spring 2017 collection. While the ethereal number displays an ample amount of skin, Ruth pulls it off so effortlessly and her fiery red lip is the icing on the cake. Love it!

2) Christina Milian in The Kooples and YSL

Christina Milian attended a pre-Gold Globes Awards 2017 party in an ensemble featuring pieces by The Kooples. With a shimmery, animal print blouse and tailored black slacks, the actress/singer radiated pure glam and luxurious vibes. To complete her look, Christina opted for subtle makeup, a wavy ‘do and Saint Laurent accessories. Hot!

3) Janelle Monae in Jenny Packham

After sweeping in over 12,231 likes and 240 comments on Instagram, Janelle Monae proved yet again that she is queen when it comes to the red carpet! The Hidden Figures leading lady graced the scene at the 2017 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala clad in a gorgeous black and cream block print gown from Jenny Packham’s Spring 2017 presentation. Our social media followers loved everything about this look – from Janelle’s decorated curly tendrils to her impeccable accessorizing, this is one of the performer’s best looks to date. We’re so excited to see what she has up her sleeve for the upcoming year!

4) Naomie Harris in Brandon Maxwell

Naomie Harris stopped the world in its tracks as she made an appearance at the 2016 NBR Gala in a champagne-hued satin and chiffon pick by Brandon Maxwell. The lustrous ‘fit boasts chic wide-leg trousers, a deep v-neckline and a flawless silhouette. Perfect for the actress’s minimal aesthetic, we have to give kudos to celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger for creating such a dynamic style moment.

5) Jennifer Hudson in Altuzarra

Next up, we have Jennifer Hudson! The beautiful fashionista was all smiles while on hand at a press launch for The Voice UK. For the occasion, the multitalented star rocked a $1,295 Altuzarra Kimiko Side Button Black Knit Dress, ankle strap platform sandals and playful fuchsia lips. It’s evident that J. Hud is on a fashionable roll and she’s showing no signs of slowing down. Werk it!

6) Gabrielle Union in Thakoon

Fashion pro Gabrielle union shocked our hearts (and our timelines) as she slayed the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of her new film Sleepless. The fresh-faced stunner kept it cool and sexy in a Thakoon embellished gown which features a deep cut neckline and long sleeves. As we all know, Gabby rarely disappoints when it comes to glamming it up. In other news, are you guys excited about the return of BET’s Being Mary Jane next week? I know I am!

Tailored sophistication is always on trend. You can’t go wrong with a suit and a bomb overcoat.

Jean Paul Paula offered a more casual vibe in a plaid kilt over pants, and an edgy leather jacket.

Keep it comfy in sweats and a fur jacket, as this young man displays.

Women are representing! I need the deets on those snakeskin thigh highs!

Lastly, this young lady looked like a star in a star printed jacket and utilitarian boots.

Kourtney Kardashian took to her app to give the lowdown of her Bahamas Girl’s trip.  The mom of three posed on the beach in a $1,694 La Perla Anchor Non-Wire Swimsuit:

The anchor design inspires the shape of this sculpted swimsuit. The well-crafted piece features rows of thin metallic cords used to embellish the garment. Each hook is made from golden metal engraved with the La Perla logo. All metallic elements are rhodium-plated making them shiny and resistant to wear.

Cassie looked swaggy as she did some shopping in her black track pants, black t-shirt, trench coat and gold chains around her neck.

Bella kept it simple with a white crop top and black leather jacket.

The  elastic-waist track pants are crafted from smooth, heavyweight jersey.  The contrast side stripes are completed with the Givenchy logo and signature star motif.

Camouflage is making a chic return to the style scene this season. Not to say that it ever really went away because I still have an over-sized army jacket and a pair of fitted cargo pants hanging in my closet. But the military-inspired print is taking a new spin with colorful fur-lined parkas, stylish handbags, and distressed tees and sweatshirts just to name a few.  If you’re in need of some ideas on how to update your camo look, try-on today’s style inspirations.
