Shades of Blue returns to TV this Sunday, March 5th: will you be tuned in? It’s one of my favorite television shows and yes, that’s in large part because Jennifer Lopez stars in it! The star has been leaning in hard to promote the series, wearing five looks in one day yesterday.
You know I’m all about the jumpsuit and the “Jenny From The Block” singer’s plaid design from Sophie Theallet’s Fall 2016 collection was utter perfection.
Jennifer and Zuhair Murad are a sartorial match made in Heaven, thus we weren’t surprised to see her in a silver embellished peplum jumpsuit from the brand’s Spring 2017 collection. Gorgeous, no?

Flaws of Couture is another plus-size indie brand that creates sensual pieces for their evolving clientele. After gaining notoriety via social media, the shop’s unforgettable products double as a celebration of fierceness, confidence and non-stop curves.

The worldwide phenom has invaded the closets of style stars all over the world and, with the addition of their own plus-size line, the London-based retailer steadily crushes their competition with budget-friendly finds, student discounts and more style diversity than you could ever imagine.
But, the coolest thing about ASOS Curve is their innate ability to transform the season’s hottest trends into plus-size gold! While critics argue that certain trends aren’t for everyone, ASOS Curve goes against the grain and proves that there is equality in fashion; hence, proclaiming the subliminal message of, “Wear what makes you feel good!” Bump the haters.
Well, well, well! Quite the selection, no?
Did we skip out on any influential brands? If so, drop them below!
Anthony Vaccarello’s approach to fashion is grandiose and glamorous—well, save for the mini skirts that have become one of his signatures. In his second show for Saint Laurent, he continued the rock and roll sensibility that’s become synonymous with his brand—a vibe he inherited from the iconic French fashion house’s previous designer Hedi Slimane.
Barely-there mini skirts, ruched mini skirts, sultry dresses with low-cut necklines, and zipper accents were pure and unadulterated Vaccarello.
He was inspired by evening and the 80’s—not groundbreaking sources of inspiration, but definitely two that provided a lot of fun and functionality. Plunging mini dresses, embellishment, ruching, and strong shoulders brought his influence to life beautifully.
The use of embellishment here made me excited about getting dressed again. Rhinestone-adorned shorts, boots, a button-front shirt, and blazer are all things I have in my closet, but not in the ultra-glamorous variety.
And the uplift of the mundane was inspiring. Glossy mini skirts were paired with chunky knits and cozy takes on the denim jacket, while zip-detailed, shearling lined shrugs accented the most basic—though simultaneously luxe and soft of course—turtlenecks.
“I want to be ensconced in velvet.” Not sure if Vaccarello knows about George Costanza’s iconic line from Seinfeld, but it seems he’s abiding by it either way. The sumptuous fabric was mostly used for evening, though we envision an “It” girl for two pairing the designs with fishnets and high-top sneakers for the season.
Menswear was also included on the runway, with pieces that I absolutely want to borrow from the boys this very second. Flashy polo shirts, expertly-tailored suiting, chic all-in-ones, and crystal-embellished blazers were all on display—and definitely unisex designs might I add.
Dakota Johnson, Nicole Richie, Julianne Moore, and Ashley Madekwe are all fans of the brand and they were undoubtedly charmed by the collection’s array of leg-baring dresses. A black velvet pleated gown on Binx Walton literally took slits to all new heights, while blue suede boots on Julia Nobis could be the perfect anchors to a thigh-grazing mini dress.
Nicki Minaj attended the H&M Runway show during Paris Fashion Week clad in the same $1,700 Balenciaga Silver Thigh High Boots that Kim Kardashian wore to her husband’s Saint Pablo Tour:
Nicki posed front row in a dress and bomber jacket from H&M, a Death by Dolls crystal corset large hoop earrings.
Kim wore a metallic, sheer slip dress with her Balenciaga boots.
Throw a bra on Kim Kardashian and she’d have my vote. Nicki’s ensemble would be hot without the corset.
What do you think? Who rocked these silver Balenciaga thigh high boots better?
