Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Kalisha Hall, the designer behind K. Rashae:
The New York Bombshell works to celebrate women and their uniqueness while promoting self-love and self-expression through purpose driven designs.
Behold a few of my favorites below:
I love!
The neutral colors can meld seamlessly into any wardrobe, and the silhouettes are so forgiving. I absolutely love the Ana Pants and the Blake Jacket. Can’t wait to rock them this Spring!

It has been a year since Lemonade was released—can you believe it? The visual album absolutely changed the game and our lives: no hyperbole necessary. Beyoncé will be welcoming two little ones any day now, thus that’s all the celebration she really needs, but she decided to put a cherry on a top with a major move that gives back—aptly titled The Formation Scholars.
She announced the news on her website today. The scholarships will be awarded to four young women from four universities—Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College. And through it, the students’ tuition for the 2017 – 2018 academic year will be funded, though we’re not certain if it will be in full or partially paid for. The Formation Scholars goal? “To encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident,” states Beyoncé.

Zoe Saldana sizzled across the pond at the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 London Premiere, slipping on an Ulyana Sergeenko Spring 2017 Couture Black Off the Shoulder Dress:
Zoe’s look opened the show, worn on supermodel Natalia Vodianova.
Gucci is having a wonderful moment in the fashion world! Absolutely every celebrity has warmed up to their 70’s and 80’s inspired logo tees, bomber jackets, scarves and more! Their shoes are no exception. For casual jaunts, celebrities love Gucci’s Princetown Slippers:
Kris Jenner uplifted an all black look in the brand’s $750 Romain print slipper, which boasts pink and black tones.
Guys are getting in on the fun, too! Cue Usher at the JDRF Imagine Gala in a Burberry suits and tartan Gucci fur slippers.
Wiz Khalifa was spied at NBC Studios in a Shearling Jacket, Jeans, and fur laden slides.
Lastly, Big Sean struck a pose in Frankfurt in black Princetowns and a Gucci Polo Shirt.
I own a pair (haven’t photographed them yet), but you really can’t go wrong! They’re super comfortable and stylish to boot!

Rita Ora loves a little Gucci, and who doesn’t these days? The British superstar was snapped leaving L.A. hotspot, The Nice Guy, clad in a $1400 Gucci Wallpaper Print Silk Blouse and $1,300 Duchesse Wide Leg Cuffed Pants from the house. Her silk top boasts a blue vintage Gucci wallpaper print scattered about this yellow blouse. A detachable red satin necktie decorates the collar of the blouse, or can be worn around the neck for a more relaxed look. A fan of menswear aestheticc when it comes to outfits, Rita paired her top with a pair of Gucci trousers in green. Made of acetate duchesse, the feel is soft, but the look is structured, emphasized by the wide cuffs at the hem. The look is a bit off the beaten path we’re use to seeing Rita Ora traverse. But she wears prints and colors with ease. At a total of $2,700, do you think this look was worth the splurge? Well, if you do, and your wallet’s been good to you, you can click here to shop the blouse, and here for her trousers.
Over the weekend, 17-year-old Milan Bolden-Morris set the internet abuzz with her black and white #BlackLivesMatter prom dress.
Her floor length gown, decorated with the faces of 15 victims of police brutality including Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland, and Mike Brown, made quite a fashionable statement about the continued fight and recognition of Civil Rights. It also showed that the youth are not aloof to political issues of our day.
The stretch polyester/scuba stunner was the brainchild of Palm Beach designer Terrence Torrance, who was kind enough to chat with us about his inspiration for the gown. He says, “I had this idea last year at a time when the #BlackLivesMatter movement was going strong. I thought it would be dope to put it on a dress. I was working at a printing company, learning how to put print onto material like lycra and scuba. I wanted to do one last year, but I was too busy. This year, I kept telling myself that I needed to do the dress. Then Solange’s album came out, and I’m a big fan of Solange, so I told myself, I have to do this dress.”
He continues, “When Milan came, she came for a regular prom dress. I told her my idea about the Travyon Martin and Black Lives Matter dress, and she was like Ok, I’ll do it. The rest is history.”
The mermaid style gown took 4 days to complete, and is decorated with over 15 faces of those unjustly slain.
Terrence has been designing custom creations for 15 years, and counts Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Trina, Nicki Minaj, Natalie Nunn, and Juelz Santana as clients. To those designers looking to make a statement, he offers, “Follow your dreams. Do You. Put yourself out there. Malls and stores are closing down and independent designers are coming up. It’s our time to go hard.”
