Happy Thursday!
The blog is booming! As such, we are working with more and more luxury brands. Our latest fete took us downtown to Dsquared2’s Soho store for a fun shopping event. <
Guests sipped on Belaire Champagne and bunched on macarons as they tried on the brand’s delectable footwear.
I LOVE these. AND they’re comfortable! Plan to see these a lot in upcoming weeks.
For those Bombers and Bombshells who came: thank you! And for those who didn’t, the VIP discount is still in effect. Stop by 166 Spring Street or call 212-966-3429 if you see anything you like.
Kourtney Kardashian lit up the night at Cannes, wearing a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier dress! But while we reported on her dress, most of you were more interested in her Malone Souliers Savannah Sandals.
The lace ups feature a brown and orange snakeskin print.
Sadly, Kourtney’s sandals are sold out, but you can get the same sandal with a different print here:
The big fashion houses are all taking their collections abroad for their mid-season collections. Louis Vuitton went to Kyoto, Dior switched continents and hopped to L.A., and Valentino chose the Big Apple as its setting for Resort 2018 this season. Pier Paolo Piccioli was inspired by Netflix’s The Get Down—which was unfortunately just cancelled—but its Uptown, hip hop references still shined through. And while the iconic Italian fashion house has steeped itself in some hot water for the use of non-white models sporting cornrows, we’re happy to report there was definitely more diversity on the runway this time around.
That influence could be felt in sporty, zip front dresses, flirty spins on the classic track suit, and drawstring trousers that totally uplifted timeless sweats.
Some athletically-leaning ensembles felt like new and fun takes on Valentino’s classics, while others missed the mark. Do we really need any more takes on athleisure at this point? We’ll answer with a firm, “No”, but we’re all for a house trying something new.
Outerwear was poignant and spoke to real-time wear when this collection drops in October. An oversized leather jacket was paired with a cutout LBD and sneakers for a touch of downtown cool and a colorful, calf-grazing embroidered coat gave a neutral getup a complete upgrade.
Prints were vibrant and entertaining, including a lipstick motif print by iconic designer Zandra Rhodes.
The complements to the looks were as standout and gorgeous as the ensembles themselves—statement-making single earrings, winged liner, layered necklaces, and shoulder bags made the case for solely investing in accessories for the season.
And few things are as big at Valentino as footwear right now. And though most looks were anchored with resort-ready flip-flops, we loved the way socks were paired with sandals for that classic, coquettish flair.
It’s nearly impossible to pick our favorite pieces from any Valentino assortment because we essentially want it all, but the most head-turning ‘fits definitely captured our eyes and hearts. A wearable blue bomber could get major play in our wardrobes right now and a pair of utilitarian cargo shorts are a piece we wish we had in our closet immediately for Memorial Day weekend.
And with Cannes going on right now, is it even possible to think of anything else besides gowns? The house presented some beautiful options that its legion of fans including Fan Bingbing, Jennifer Lopez, Cate Blanchett, and Olivia Palermo will be certain to fawn over.

Life has been on an upward tick for Jeremy Meeks aka Prison Bae. After his gorgeous mugshot gave the fashion world fever, he has signed with White Cross Management and walked the runway for Philipp Plein.
Now it seems the blue eyed Fashion Bomber has another project up his sleeve. Last night, he met with Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing and Fashion Director Ugo Mozie for a Secret Project.
Though it’s unclear what the trio is working on, let’s hope to see Mr. Bae in an upcoming Balmain campaign (or perhaps rocking the Balmain men’s runway). Yes!

The stars kept the parties going in Cannes, heading over to the L’Oreal Gala 20th Birthday in embellishment, mini lengths, sheer frocks, and sky-high heels.
Let’s get into the fête’s getups!
Maria Borges flaunted her mile-long legs in an embellished, fringe Balmain LWD. She’s a stunner!
Eva Longoria sizzled in a sheer-inset gown from the iconic French fashion house.
Neelam Gill slipped on a high-neck, long-sleeve mini dress with mesh accents and stud embellishment. Hot!
Cindy Bruna injected a taste of the exotic in a croc and python design, that also boasted fringe and sheer zebra-embossed panels.
Olivier Rousteing was dapper in his signature black silky suit for the evening. He’s so handsome.
Jasmine Tookes was gilded in a curve-hugging gown that outlined her curves like liquid metal. Another flawless look from the beauty at Cannes!
Winnie Harlow was a vision in a white strapless bustier crop top and high-waist, slit front skirt.
I’ve been living for Tina Kunakey’s ‘fro this festival! It spoke volumes—pun intended—alongside her lace-up LWD and pearl-accented sandals.
Clearly white dresses were the night’s big trend, with Ming Xi looking ethereal in a wispy confection. Gorgeous, no?
It was all about the details for Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong who combined stars and arrows in her artful ensemble. Hot!
Her Spring 2017 green and yellow silk and cotton bomber features appliqué detailing, a stand up collar, front-zip fastening, two front pockets, and long sleeves.
Her black leather loafers boast webbed bow accents, a pointed-toe silhouette, functional 3/4″ stacked heels, and pale gold-tone micro-pyramid stud embellishment.
Her black trousers feature a high-waist, front slits, a zipper and hook front closure, and front slant pockets.
She can do no wrong!
If you’re up for the splurge, get Olivia’s jacket here, pants here, and shoes here.
Perhaps you haven’t heard of Strateas Carlucci and that’s ok! As Australian brands penetrate the industry more and more and become celeb go-tos, we definitely like to keep up with what’s going on in the Land Down Under. The country just wrapped up their latest set of Resort 2018 fashion shows and the brand’s collection for the season was among our faves.
Started in 2013 by Peter Strateas and Mario-Luca Carlucci, the label’s ethos lies in binary oppositions. Playing on the duality of masculinity and femininity, Strateas Carlucci seeks to create clothing that is led by concept and not by gender.
The construction of the garments was out of control in the best way possible. Strong, cold shoulders presented a modern take on the trend, while thigh-high red patent leather chaps made the case for never wearing trousers again.
Tailoring shone through brightly in expertly-constructed suits and bold, patent leather coats that took on the traditional trench silhouette.
Fashion is about function, but it’s also about taking risks. And in many ways, the brand’s approach was unorthodox, yet incredibly cool. They’re definitely in that Vetements and Matthew Adams Dolan ilk which is becoming increasingly popular among fashion’s elite right now.
With that being said, the Vetements set should absolutely eat this collection up. Rihanna would slay in a white, button-front cold shoulder slit LWD, while Kim Kardashian should find a way to incorporate the puffer separates into her Fall wardrobe.
What do you think of the brand’s Resort collection?
Rihanna’s got a thing for Matthew Adams Dolan’s designs! The trendy singer was spotted heading to a meeting in New York City wearing a Canadian Tuxedo by the designer.
The oversized jacket features openings on each side, and the baggy pants are set off by an incredibly low crouch. Rihanna completed this ensemble with a Dior bag, nude strappy heels, white-trimmed sunglasses, and a clear belt around her waist.
I love the details on the jacket and how it fits Rihanna, but I could live without the pants. What do you think? Are you feeling Rihanna’s oversized statement or nah? Vote below!
As the saying goes, “In fashion, one day you’re in, and the next, you’re out.” But this week’s beauty crush has, is, and will always be in. We all know how fleeting the career lifespan of a model can be, even if she was one of top earners. But since being discovered at the age of fifteen, and recently celebrating her 47th birthday, Naomi Campbell continues to dominate the modeling world with a walk as legendary as her name. Not many can accomplish all this British icon has. Countless magazine covers and editorials, runway shows, and ad campaigns still keep her the working model she is, but there’s more to Naomi than meets the eye. Which probably explains why she’s still so sought after. Naomi’s career sky-rocketed during the days of Gianni Versace. Being one of his muses, she sashayed down the catwalk of every show of his during his lifetime, often walking hand-in-hand with him at the end of his collections. Soon before long, she became one of the most sought after models of the 90’s, often walking for Azzedine Alaïa, Chanel, and eventually becoming a regular on the Victoria’s Secret runway. With access to high-end designers and their fabulous garb, Naomi’s style has always been flawless. But great style is only half the package, as Naomi’s beauty completes it. Though her hair has seen many changes for shows and editorials, she often kept a middle part with waist length hair, either curly or straightened. Naomi did have a heavier brow in the nineties, making her appear more sultry. She still adores the long, flowing mane she’s become known for, but Naomi loves to switch things up every now and again. From bangs to a cute crop, she enjoys keeping onlookers on their toes with a change. Her makeup is often soft and subtle these days, with a slight flush to the cheeks and a nude gloss. But sometimes, she enjoys kicking things up a notch with a colored lip. We could go on and on about Naomi’s external beauty, but it only scratches the surface of how dynamic a woman she’s become. She, along with Bethann Hardison, have fought tirelessly for more black models to be featured on the runways and in fashion magazines. She’s fought for equal pay and the abolition of racial bias in the modeling industry, which was highlighted in an open letter she, along Hardison and Iman, penned to the governing bodies of global fashion week shows, naming all the designers who didn’t use black girls during their fall 2013 runway shows. Outside of fashion, Naomi has been racking up roles to perfect her pretty impressive acting chops. From The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air era to present-day Empire, American Horror Story: Hotel, and Star, she’s proven she’s here to conquer the acting world as well.
For as much as she’s been afforded during the span of her career through sheer hard work, passion, focus and dedication, she often says she feels a civic responsibility to give back.
She established the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund during a benefit Versace presentation at Nelson Mandela’s presidential estate. Her charity work through her yearly Fashion For Relief fashion show has raised millions since its inception to aid in natural disaster recovery efforts and AIDS research.Naomi has given the world so much more than a fierce picture in a magazine or a glide down the runway than no one can imitate. She has bridged the gap through fashion and charity, and remains a vocal opponent to those who won’t recognize the equity and beauty in black models. For that, we tip our hats to Naomi Campbell. She has paved the way for models like Chanel Iman and Jordan Dunn and will always deemed an inspiration for little black girls who want to take on the industry.
