On the Scene: The Tenth Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic with Kendall Jenner in Dolce & Gabbana, Priyanka Chopra in Altuzarra, TK Quan in Chloe, and More!

Celebs flocked to The Tenth Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic! Our favorite supermodels, actresses, style stars, and more were in attendance.

Let’s get into the day’s ensembles:

Kendall Jenner was all smiles in a floral print, off-the-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana mini dress, matching bag, and on-trend white boots. So cute!

Priyanka Chopra accented her black and white polka dot Altuzarra dress with a black straw hat, red lips, and black platform sandals. I love her style.

TK Quan is always one of the best dressed women in any room! Her Chloe mini frock was exquisite.

Our very own Ty Hunter couldn’t be missed in a printed ASOS suit.

Jamie Chung was radiant in an affordable $74 Storets Lihan Lace Halter Neck Dress. She never disappoints!

Ebonee Davis gave us 90’s nostalgia in a white and yellow gingham print tube top and mini skirt set.

Flaviana Matata was regal in a fascinator and figure-skimming green dress. Absolutely gorgeous.

Aamito Lagum offset her effortless LWD with purple lips. She’s a beauty!

A navy and white printed frock was on the style agenda for beauty Laura Harrier. Such a perfect Summer look, no?

Polka dots were also Candice Huffine’s choice in a draped halter dress with a sultry slit. Hot!

Nicky Hilton was easy, breezy, beautiful in a patterned Monse halter dress. I love their designs.

Olympian Miles Chamley-Watson was so fresh and oh so clean in all-white.

Rocky Barnes went bold in a colorful stripe, one-shoulder flounce Mara Hoffman frock. This was fab!

Caroline Constas makes dresses too! Julie Sarinana was outfitted in one—a flirty off-the-shoulder striped design with an off-the-shoulder silhouette and tiered ruffles.

Can you tell stripes were among the day’s biggest trends? Bag Snob’s Tina Craig also opted for them, with some chic shades to boot.

Nicole Kidman played on the classic black and white combo in a polka dot, high-neck Alessandra Rich pleated midi dress. Her pieces are always beyond!

Lucy Hale was a floral dream in RED Valentino.

Keri Russell brought peplum back in a striped skirt with the timeless accent and metallic Alaïa sandals. Could this have been any more perfect?

Michelle Ochs flaunted her midriff in a black and silver crop top and high-waist black trousers.

Amy Sall was a vision in a lace Miguelina LWD.

Lais Ribeiro looked every bit the model in a belted Tamuna Ingorokva dress.

Logan Laurice was ethereal in a wispy, blush Cinq a Sept dress with contrast black trim.

Event Recap: WOE Magazine, Lord & Taylor Team Up to Celebrate Claire Sulmers’s Cover and The Bomb Life

Claire Sulmers is one busy woman! From overseeing her multicultural digital platform to hosting events and public speaking, it’s about time she graced the cover of a magazine. WOE (Women Own Excellence) Magazine did the honors by placing Fashion Bomb Daily’s very own EIC as the Covergirl of their latest Beauty, Brains, and Business Issue.

On Saturday, June 3rd in Washington, DC., WOE Magazine teamed up with Lord & Taylor to celebrate her cover reveal. The event comprised an intimate discussion on her book The Bomb Life with “Cover Talk,” followed by a book signing and spring fashion show.

As soon as I stepped foot in the luxury retail space I was dazzled by Bombshells and Bombers who came fully dressed to impress and meet the Fashion Bombshell H.B.I.C.

Next, came the spring fashion show by Lord & Taylor. The style direction represented “beauty, brains and excellence” which was creatively executed by WOE Magazine Fashion Contributor, Tamiko White @tamikowhite. Celebrity hairstylist, Charlene Brown @charlenebrown1 brought her “Glam Team” for the models who were all represented by @roetheagency. The models were styled with many of the latest trends: pom poms accessories, pop-art patches, visors, kimonos (both men and women!), men’s gladiator sandals, loungewear, and fringe denim. As well as some continuous trends: plaids, nude tones, socks with sandals, lace, tie-dye, bomber jackets and blazers.

The room was filled with empowerment and fashion. So much that a portion of the proceeds benefited Mia Wright @miawrightinspires of “We CAN-CER vive!” foundation. She fought and survived ovarian cancer three times! Another reason to celebrate women kicking butt!

Then came what attendees had patiently waited for: Claire. She sat down with WOE Magazine Editor in Chief, Ayo Thomas @ayoempowersyou and Tamiko White to discuss her book, graduating from Harvard, life after Harvard, staying humble, and the challenges she’s faced that shaped the woman she is today.

A Q&A followed next by fans and entrepreneurs.

After attendees soaked up the EIC’s powerful words and wisdom she began her book signing. According to her excerpt on The Bomb Life she only brought 35 books with her on her way to DC and sold out of all of them.

For the Day, Claire wore a white jumpsuit from It Factor Boutique, a Balmain blazer, a Gucci logo belt, and jewelry/shoes from Lord & Taylor.

Claire will be back in DC July 30th to host Cocktails with Claire.

What do you think of Claire’s first cover launch event?

Denna Gvasalia of Vetements and Azede Jean Pierre Amongst First Designers to Step Away from Fashion Week

Fashion Week is terribly antiquated. It started off as the only way buyers, insiders, and editors could see and report on collections. With the advent of the internet and injection of consumerism, it has ballooned into a multi day circus of endless shows, parties, preening, and popping champagne. While enjoyable, now that shows can be streamed online, the industry no longer actually needs to keep the charade going. Denna Gvasalia of Vetements and Azede Jean Pierre are two designers who have decided to gracefully bow out of the fashion show system.

In an article on Vogue.com, Demna Gvasalia of the uber popular label Vetements said, “We are not going to show in the classical system anymore. I got bored. I think it needs to enter a new chapter. Fashion shows are not the best tool. We did the show in the sex club, the restaurant, the church. We brought forward the season, we showed men’s and women’s together. It’s become repetitive and exhausting. We will do something when there’s the time and the need for it. It will be more like a surprise.”

Azede seconded Gvasalia’s emotions, telling FashionBombDaily.com, “I did this exact thing! And my life is so much for filled, I’m working on my own time and I get to work on beautifully amazing inspiring projects as well.”

It’s way past time for fashion to evolve and embrace new technology and the new consumer. Fashion Shows and Fashion Week are marketing tools; they’re the icing on the cake. While nice, fun, and fast paced, they are unnecessary. And I’m sure the Fall, Spring, Pre-Fall, Resort, Cruise obligations are supremely taxing. Why not just create what you want, when you want, and feed it first hand to your fans via social media?

Look of the Week (The Top 5 Most Liked Looks on Instagram): Childish Gambino in Gucci, Jada Pinkett Smith in Maria Lucia Hohan, Rihanna in Juun J, and More!

Happy Friday!
It’s the end of another fabulous week and the sun is shining! But before we prance into the sunlight, let’s take a quick look back at the most liked looks on the ‘Gram:

1. Childish Gambino in Gucci: 12,609 Likes

It’s not often we have men featured in Look of the Week, and it’s not often he nabs first place. But over 12,000 voted the Gucci look he wore to the brand’s 2018 Cruise show hot! Everything from his smize to his cool sneaks spoke to us. Keep it up!

2. Jada Pinkett Smith in Maria Lucia Hohan: 12,411 Likes

Jada Pinkett Smith makes herself pretty sparse on the celeb circuit, but when she steps out, she slays! Yes high slit, yes thigh, yes golden hue! This Maria Lucia Hohan dress was pure perfection.

3. Kris Jenner in Gianvito Rossi: 9,130 Likes

We’re not quite sure who stole the show with this pic: North West, Penelope, and Mason or Kris Jenner’s easy gray cardigan and Gianvito Rossi boots. Either way, Madame Jenner embodies the ‘Glam-ma’ moniker, and works it well.

4. Rihanna in Juun J: 8,746 likes

Rihanna has been sidling up to the oversized/off the shoulder trend a lot recently, and pledged her allegiance yet again with this Juun J number, secured with a Margiela boot. Only Queen Rih can make everything look so effortless. Over 8,000 of you agreed.

5. Alesha Dixon & Jennifer Hudson in Dsquared2: 8,330 likes

Though we can’t really decide who wore it better, we can agree that the golden yellow tone of Dsquared2’s Colby ruffle dress looks smashing on brown skin tones, aptly displayed by Jennifer Hudson and Alesha Dixon. The high slit, the feminine ruffles…this dress is bomb, no matter how you slice it.

That does it!
Who did you think had the best look this week?
