Hip Hop culture is truly taking over Fashion, first stateside, and now abroad!
Just yesterday, Chicago’s very own hiplet dancers opened the Moncler Spring 2018 show, performing a routine mixing classical ballerina with hip hop dance.
Hip Hop’s presence is truly being felt by the fashion industry. I can’t wait for even more real inclusion and enthusiastic acceptance of our wonderful diversity.
Booties, leather jackets, scarves, and sweaters – sounds like Fall is in the air! We just love this time of year when a bomber jacket and a pair of hot boots can elevate a simple look. This Fall, old trends with a new twist have proven to be popular. We’ve gathered up 5+ fall looks you should definitely incorporate into your wardrobe. Let’s get right to it below.
The color red in any fashion form is hot this Fall. This trend has been spotted on tons of popular fashion bloggers and the runways. Even though we are seeing this color more often this season, it’s actually a color that will always be in style.
If you’re the casual wear type, this Fall is your time to shine. Leisure suits are a thing for this season. Pair this old school look with your favorite sneakers, and you’re good to go.
You know that floral couch your grandmother owns? Yup, the one that has absolutely nothing to do with her decor. Well those patterns are being worn this Fall. Try this trend out with a floral blazer or the floral booties above with some distressed jeans.
Our Bomb Product of The Day is Jennifer Le’s $429 Driftwood Boots. Hot!
Crafted from a combination of Olive Canvas & 100% genuine calf leather this stunner features black & red tartan wool lining, a lambskin leather insole and a rubber outsole for firm footing.
Khloe Kardashian is a fan! She wore the boots for a recent outing with beau Tristan Thompson.
A new aesthetic for ready-to-wear spring 2018 has awakened, thanks to designer Virgil Abloh’s Off-White line held at Paris Fashion Week ’17. He took a majestic approach, as the label’s theme focused on the “Natural Women,” but there was more behind the collection besides its pureness.
It was a twist to a Cinderella story, as Abloh felt inspired by the late Princess Diana’s style and grace. To add to the royal theme, Jimmy Choo collaborated with the designer to introduce a new level of luxury meets punk rock edge than the typical timeless approach. Soothing sounds of nature played as each model walked in with looks that were sophisticated, edgy, and a modern-day reflection of how the princess would turn her look from businesswear to evening wear.
The ’80s era was seen throughout the collection: puffy sleeves, patent leather, collars were worn up (instead of down), hot pink, and cinched cropped off-the-shoulder sleeves to name a few. Even Jimmy Choo took the ’80s to a new level, as he designed pumps with an oversized bow to introduce one out of a few signature styles from the collab.
Abloh added ruffles and cropped outerwear pieces, which have been noticed throughout his previous collections.
Some of the prints used reflected from classic cartoon shows. The black-and-white splattered print reminded me of the Flintstones characters, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm. Also, the black-and-white printed and cropped tie front style is prevalent in 2017, but Abloh has proven that the trend will continue even next year.
These dark oversized floral prints that Abloh incorporated are to be taken seriously. It’s the perfect look for any prominent figure in politics, royalty or entertainment who is ready to handle business.
Jourdan Dunn strutted the more relaxed look seen in the collection. Denim on denim is not going anywhere anytime soon, neither is distressed denim and to make this look more appealing to the masses he added pearls, which is known to be a girl’s best friend.
Naomi Campbell closed the show with an all-white asymmetrical elongated buttoned blazer, grey-toned biker shorts, and Jimmy Choo strappy pumps wrapped in vinyl fabric, another signature style to look out for from the collaboration next year.

Supermodels and fashion’s elite descended onto Balmain’s Spring 2018 show after party with L’Oreal Paris. Glitz and glamour were on high and not a single look disappointed.
Check out the night’s ensembles:
Giovanna Battaglia was gilded in a gold sequin fringe dress. I live for her style!
Jasmine Sanders sizzled in a cold-shoulder, zip front lace LBD and Giuseppe Zanotti ‘GEORGINA’ Black Satin Strappy Sandals. This was fab.

Cocktails with Claire has gone international!
We first started with Lagos, Nigeria, then hopped over to London. Our latest stop was in beautiful Paris.
Paris has a special place in my heart. As you all may know, I lived in Paris from 2008-2010. I came with little money and few contacts, and had a tough time! But with all things difficult, it made me stronger, and I was overjoyed to share my journey with everyone who came!
Bombers and Bombshells from France, Switzerland, Cameroon, and the good old US of A (Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta) gathered at O Chateau for wine, cheese, networking, and encouragement. The night started off with mixing and mingling, and concluded with a discussion about The Bomb Life, moderated by Sophy Aiida. Bonang Matheba was kind enough to join us and offer pearls of wisdom and a bit of insight on how she became one of the most celebrated stars in South Africa with a social media following of 1.7 million people.
More than just a Cocktail Party, Cocktails with Claire is a chance for Fashion Bomb Daily readers to receive career and life advice as it pertains to Breaking into Fashion. Bonang, Sophy, and I encouraged everyone from new designers to future brand ambassadors to invest in themselves and their image, set goals, sidestep distractions, and live the Bomb Life!
The event bubbled over with fabulous energy. I can’t wait for the next one!
We’ll be coming to Atlanta and New York soon. And guys–if you’d like to have a similar fashion filled, supremely fun networking event come to your town, holla at me! You can always reach me at Claire@FashionBombDaily.com.
Special Thanks to Estelle, Sophy, Nei, Karina, Olivier, Asia, and Lyneka for making the event an astounding success! A la prochaine!
*For the night, I wore a Ralph Lauren zebra printed trench, Moschino belt, BLNK denim Skirt, A Hat shop hat, and Dsquared2 Lace up Sandals.
She writes, “My name is Mariela Sabino and I’m a Fashion Journalist & Fashion Designer from the Dominican Republic, currently living in Paris. In terms of style, I would define it a being classic but always adding some sassy cutting-edge elements to make my looks stand out.”
