Here to tell you about a cool campaign the Tampax Radiant Collection hosted for majorette teams at HBCU’s!
A lot of young African American women avoid wearing certain types of clothes during their periods for fear of period leaks. The Tampax and Always Radiant Collection offers fabulous period protection that keeps fashionistas and collegiate women confident 24/7.
In an effort to empower collegiate women across the country to wear what they want, even when they have their period, Tampax teamed up with HBCU Dance Corporation, Inc. to host the #RadiantDanceOff – a national, online dance competition exclusively for majorette teams at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). They say, “This will give majorettes the chance to show off their moves and demonstrate how confidence is the key to feeling radiant any day of the month.”
The winning majorette team will receive new costumes designed by Brea Stinson, a Clark Atlanta University alumna and highly sought-after celebrity costume and fashion designer. Stinson has collaborated with the industry’s top creative directors and wardrobe stylists, creating iconic looks for some of the hottest artists. About the campaign, Stinson said, “We wanted to design something that was fierce and fly and also just to go along with the message of the campaign: That you can be confident and comfortable in whatever you want to wear, whatever time of the month, and live your best life and kill that performance if you need to. I submitted 6 designs, Tampax will narrow it down to 3, and the winner will choose from those 3.”
The school of the winning team will also win a donation of $25,000 to cover the dance team’s expenses.
Classmates, dance lovers and fans from across the country came together and have officially named the Alabama A&M Dancin’ Divas the winners of the first #RadiantDanceOff contest! Kudos to the winning team and to all the fierce dance squads who participated. You helped us prove to women everywhere that they can confidently wear and do whatever they want without having to worry about period leaks thanks to the Tampax and Always Radiant Collection.

Today’s Bombshell sizzles all the way from Texas. Behold, Taylor from Houston.
She writes, “I can’t put my style into one category. My mood determines my styles for the day. Sometimes my inner tomboy shines through and sometimes I like luxe fashion from the 50’s. You won’t catch me wearing every new trend that hits the streets because I stay true to classic, timeless style.”

Cardi B has been winning all year long and she is making sure to close out her 2017 with a bang! The “Bodak Yellow” rapper and fashionista announced her first major shoe collaboration, and it’s not the bloody shoes you’re thinking.
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Cardi revealed how the partnership came about— “All of this came about because I keep bringing up to my manager, I want to work with brands that are affordable. And are chic but good quality. I don’t want to work with a brand that is like, “Yeah they make shoes,” or “Yeah, they make clothes,” but it’s like…cheap, not good to wear. I’ve always been a fan of Steven Madden. We have a mutual friend, and bam! We connected.”
The Bronx-bred star is known for sharing with her fans that while she loves designer items, she is also very into affordability. The products range from a $36 pair of sunglasses to a $230 pair of platform boots. The collection of already existing Steve Madden accessories and shoes was hand-picked by Cardi. “Styles that are POPPIN and Cardi B approved,” is the tagline for this collaboration and we can see exactly why.
Continue to make money moves, Cardi! All of the products are bomb and available to shop here!

This week’s beauty crush has been in the game for over fifteen years, and doesn’t look a day over when she first set foot in the music industry. Topping the charts with multi-platinum albums and the iconic single “Foolish”, Ashanti has cemented her position in entertainment, especially being an independent artist. Now, touring the world and giving us look after look and tropical holiday pics galore on her Instagram, we couldn’t help but take notice how much she’s been slaying.
Ashanti’s mug has to be a makeup artist’s dream because her skin is so flawless. Don’t believe me? The proof is definitely in those vacation pics where she exhibits a sun-kissed glow sans maquillage.
But like most women, she embraces the transformation when glammed up. Initially a nude gloss kinda gal, Ashanti’s makeup looks eventually evolved, mainly staying on trend with what shades were popping at the time. Foundation, concealer and neon pinks that used to frame her pout was a common look for her back then.
But now a perfectly contoured and highlighted face accompanied by whatever lip shade she’s in the mood for is doing her justice.
Ashanti hardly deviated from dark hair. Whether long and curled or straight with a bang, she usually wore it black.
These days, she loves experimenting with different cuts, lengths, and colors. Blonde and blunt? Did that.
More than a gorgeous woman who prides herself on eating healthy, juicing, and working out (as evidenced by her bikini clad appearance in the latest Ciroc ad), her drive knows no bounds. Managing to stay relevant in the music industry as an independent artist speaks to her amazing work ethic. Not only that, she’s producing films and acting. Nonetheless, her busy schedule hasn’t kept her off her game one bit. In short, she’s nothing short of a boss.
Happy Wednesday, Bombers and Bombshells!
I took a bit of a break last week to recover from Cocktails with Claire x Ty Hunter Atlanta, then hit the ground running last night for an American Express Success Makers event featuring Solange Knowles and Virgil Abloh.
American Express gathered tastemakers to listen to Abloh and Knowles talk about pursuing their passions, listening to their intuition, and strategizing for success.
Today’s Bombshell is Marshea from Newark, New Jersey
She writes, “My style is casual chic. I like to keep it simple and sweet with a splash of sexy.
“I love riding the wave of the latest fashion trends and putting my own twist to it. I could dress my look all the way up or I could dress it all the way down. It’s all in the details!”
