French magazine Le Point has confirmed that famed couturier and style icon Azzedine Alaïa has passed away at the age of 77.
Born in Tunisia in 1940, Alaïa founded his eponymous label in 1979. He quickly became a fashion go-to in the 80’s for the who’s who in the fashion industry, stylish stars, and supermodels. And his curve-hugging designs quickly had him nicknamed as “King of Cling”. Alaïa went on to open boutiques in Beverly Hills and New York City, but took some time away from the industry after his twin sister’s death in 1992.
He was a pioneer in fashion for his refusal to adhere to the traditional fashion calendar—instead creating collections when he saw fit. This summer at Couture Fashion Week in Paris, Alaia presented his first Couture collection in six years.
From Cher Horowitz’s now iconic red dress in Clueless to high fashion photo shoots with everyone from Naomi Campbell to Grace Jones, Alaïa will forever live on as a style legend and an influence whose scope can’t be quantified. His legacy will live on in all of our hearts, minds, and closets. Our prayers are with his close friends, muses, and family at this time.
TMZ has reported that her KKW Fragrance sold $10 million in a single day worldwide. And the most incredible part of it all is that not one of her customers was able to smell it in advance.
Her trio of new scents just became available online on Wednesday morning, with Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Oud, and Crystal Gardenia Citrus all up for grabs. 300,000 bottles were produced and they’re on track to completely sell out.
This is really thanks to Kardashian’s superb social media skills. Her KKW Fragrance account was started less than a month ago at the end of October and now has a little over 62,000 followers. But the KKW Beauty founder cross-promoted the perfume on her personal accounts, as did sister Khloe and mother Kris. So that’s a reach of almost 200 million people.
And when (not if) KKW Fragrance sells out, Kardashian will have made $14 million. Potentially in a day and a half…all Kim does is win!
So if you haven’t snagged one of Kardashian’s scents yet, you may not be able to for quite some time. We don’t doubt that she’ll be releasing more bottles, but we’re staying locked on her social media for the announcement.

Pharrell is headed straight to the office, as he teamed up with G-Star RAW to present “Uniform of the Free,” a suit inspired collection under the streetwear brand.
The collection appeared first at ComplexCon on Nov. 4th in Long Beach, CA. The mogul presented the office looks with a few models who stood in unison in pinstripe, militant style jumpsuits with muted tones of tan, and navy blue layered with vibrant hues of yellow, blue and salmon pink garments underneath.
According to Billboard and Pharrell’s Instagram, he made a surprise announcement for attendees at the festival. He also interpreted to the audience what this new line represents: “This collection is about freedom of choice — it’s about adding democracy to your wardrobe,” he said at the unveiling. “We’re not trying to tell people what to do and what to think, but just help them to express themselves openly.”
ComplexCon may have gotten first dibs on the reveal on the creative dress code at a typical 9-5, but the collection won’t officially launch until April 2018.
Take a peek at the new merch that will soon be available in the Spring!

Today’s Bombshell is Shakita representing the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
She writes, “I think growing up in DC is such a unique experience because it forces you to find your own independence. I took that and developed my own style. I’m not always the most vocal in the room but my personality shows through my clothes (its often a conversation starter!). I have a very classic style but its far from boring!”
“My love for antiques influences my style and the vintage pieces I pair with my looks. I don’t really let current trends dictate what I wear. Some days I feel more into Old Hollywood vibes, while other days I’m channeling the 70’s.”

“I would describe my style as tailored and minimal, but effective. I don’t like to feel like I’m doing too much. I usually go for staple items when I shop because it makes pairing statement pieces easier.”
“I want readers of my blog hezneckofthewoods.com to be able to recreate looks with things they already own. I also like to make sure I incorporate small business brands into my wardrobe because quality brands deserve to be seen.”
