Beauty Bomb Trend : Is Lip Gloss Making a Comeback?

By Limsan Boulter (@limo_x) for Fashion Bomb Daily

Kylie Jenner, love her or hate her you must admit the girl knows how to seize a good opportunity. Back in the day when she first experimented with her lip fillers and got everyone talking about it, what did she do?  Released a gold mine of a lip kit product, snowballing into a global cosmetics empire and officially initiating the trend of matte liquid lipstick.

Brands such as Huda Beauty, Anastasia Beverly Hills and TooFaced (and of course, King Kylie) all have been the top go-to’s when it comes to the long-lasting liquid lip product.

Kylie Cosmetics have since expanded their product offering to include eyeshadows, eyeliner, glitter shadows, highlighters and more recently, a new line of lip glosses. The High Gloss collection dropped at the start of November, with a recent announcement of a restock on @KylieCosmetics Instagram feed – showing just how popular her glosses are.

This isn’t the first lip gloss that Kylie released, she had previously tested the waters by including some glosses in her birthday and holiday collections, as well as her collaboration with BFF Jordyn Woods teasing the first High Gloss shades: Partner in Crime and 23. Now, her glosses are one of the most popular items across the entire brand.

She’s not the only one. Enter Rihanna, one of the first products she released as part of her now legendary Fenty Beauty line was Gloss Bomb. A one-size-fits-all sheer nude-rose gloss dream to give your lips that Fenty Glow, one of her best sellers when Fenty Beauty debuted last September. For the annual Diamond Ball that Rihanna hosts every September, saw the release of a special line of diamond inspired goods – including the second Gloss Bomb shade ‘Diamond Milk’. Fast forward to December and Gloss Bomb has a new sister, a petal pink color called Fu$$y.

The lip gloss has been remastered. That sticky, almost heavy-feeling lip glosses of the 90’s are over. It’s all about hydrating, comfortable formulas and a mirror shine giving your lips that plump pout look that Ms Jenner would be proud of.

Whether it is clear, glittery or richly pigmented color, it’s safe to say that the glossy lip look is not going anywhere.

Fashion Vs Self Grooming – What Is The Most Important?

Fashion is a form of self-expression; it is the easiest way you can communicate to those around you without having to speak.

On the other hand, self grooming caters for the things you do to make your appearance clean and neat i.e brushing your teeth, shaving, taking care of your beard, cutting nails and so much more.

These two might look alike but they are completely different – though to be a fully styled up man / woman, you have to be both well dressed and groomed. It will carry no meaning to wear an expensive designer shirt/dress when your personal hygiene is poor. Grooming is more personalized, the community around you might not notice it as it would be with fashion but it is more important than fashion.

BENEFITS OF BEING STYLISH:

  • Sign Of Self-Improvement:- When you wear clothes that fit you very well and suit your status, that will be a great step towards self-improvement. A good example is a Movie Star by the names of Michael B Jordan (star in a movie called CREED) who has become a new face of COACH MENSWEAR – he managed to get this role because of his fame and great taste for fashion. Being stylish and well groomed won him lots of social followers around the globe (with over 1,142,095 facebook followers & 1,000,000 twitter followers). Looking stylish shows people around you that you have transformed from bad to better, it wins their trust and their perception towards you will always be positive. Another great example is Sean Combs ”Puff Daddy” – one of the most successful American rappers, his stylish, confident and powerful.

  • Good Sign That You Take Care Of Your Self:- Every time you dress well and present yourself in a fashionable manner – you send a message to people that you take great care of yourself and those around you. In a nutshell – it helps you create a positive image which breaks barriers that would have blocked you on your way to success.

  • Shows That Your Confident:- I do always get that self awesomeness when I wear something great – not necessarily that it has to be expensive, but not cheap at the same time. Choosing and matching the right outfit will make you look adorable. Once in a while you will hear people say ”I WANT TO DRESS LIKE SO & SO”. They drive that confidence from you. Some fashion styles / trends command self-confidence, you have to believe in yourself in-order to pull off certain trends and people around you will always say that you’re bold.

  • Indicates That You Pay Attention To Detail:- Fashion is all about paying attention to details. Right from color contrast, cloth fitting, prints and designs in the fabric, finishing of the fabric, weather condition, time of the day, activities of the day and so much more. Just a few people can pay attention to all those details, so a few who can are highly respected.

  • Earns You Respect From The Community:- By default people get attracted to smart people. You have to dress well and at the same time act smart. Combining these two factors will earn you lots of respect from people around you.

  • Gets You The Right Attention:- If you’re the kind of person who likes attention, being fashionable can get you all the attention you need. People love beautiful things, so if you become the center of beauty & style – all eyes will be on you.

BENEFITS OF BEING WELL GROOMED:

Just like I said, being fashionable goes hand-in-hand with personal grooming. It is more of a hygienic practice done for both health and beauty purposes. It is only people close to you who will notice how well groomed you’re and these few people can greatly impact your life more than a large community which praises the way you dress.

  • Shows Better Personal Hygiene And Care:- To be well groomed does not necessarily mean to wear the best suit or attire. Majority of men dress like models but beneath those expensive attires is smell & hairy parts here and there. I just wonder why a person would buy a $1000 suit but fail to invest in one of the best electric shavers which do not cost more than $200. It is very important to clean and shave your body thoroughly before wearing that expensive suit/attire. Actually you won’t find any good use of perfumes if your body is extremely clean.

  • Establishes Relationships:- People don’t get attracted to unhygienic people. If you smell wired, have a bad breath, have a fully grown uncared for beard that smells…..etc….people will always distance themselves from you. But a well groomed person attracts people around him – it is a sign of modernity and responsibility.

  • Makes You Look Organized:- It is very difficult for a well groomed person not to be organized. By the time you take care of parts that only you and your partner will see – the spirit of hardworking and being organized will be seen by those close to you thus increase on your chances of being successful at the things you do.

  • Makes You Productive:- Being hygienic will scare away bacteria & germs that could make you sick thus boost your productivity. Whatever you do – you will do it with a lot of confidence.

  • Builds Confident:- Once your body is thoroughly clean, you won’t fear interacting with people of all classes. This will help you find a partner because you’re not scared of that bad breath.

  • Makes You Unique:- Right, not everyone can afford to be clean both on the inside and outside. Majority of people care about how they look on the outside – they wear very expensive clothes and perfumes but they forget that a bad breath, unshaved beard, dirty nails and a dirty body make them look cheap. Always compliment that trendy style with a well groomed body.

Snapshot: Ashanti Covers Paper Magazine’s Break the Internet Issue

By: Morgan Smith (@muvamorgs) for Fashion Bomb Daily

Aww baby! Yes, the Ashanti that gave us countless bops for the early 2000s will be covering Paper Magazine’s “Break the Internet” issue. The term is fitting because Ashanti does seem to break the internet every time she drops a photo of herself on the ‘gram, showing off her wonderful, ageless curves and beauty.

In this issue, Ashanti is teaming up with the brand, Miss Circle, to show off eight different looks from the capsule collection from head-turning glamour to sophisticated chic. With her not dropping an album in 16 years, the singer discusses her journey through her music career from her working with Irv Gotti to her time at Murder Inc. She also discusses her adjustments to the rise of social media and how she deals with gossip and “fake news” on the regular. Overall, she gives a journey in a day in the life of Ashanti and looks glamorous while doing it.

What do you think, Bombers and Bombshells?

How did technology change the fashion industry?

The fashion industry is almost unrecognisable to what it was even a few decades ago. YouTube influencers, virtual shopping assistants and advanced production methods have revolutionised fashion.

With that in mind, let’s dive in and see how these technological advancements have helped to shape the fashion world.

Apps & Fast Fashion

Thanks to the rise of shopping apps, consumers can buy new styles for their wardrobe anytime, anyplace. The super quick move from the catwalk to the consumers shopping basket is referred to as fast fashion.

Styles are constantly changing, and the traditional seasonal styles have been usurped by seemingly endless changes. Apps with in-built notifications have helped retailers to keep their customers up to date with all the major changes in the fashion world.

In turn that’s boosted their sales as well as increasing the percentage of clothes being wasted by the general public. Last year 300,000 tonnes of clothing was sent to landfill in the UK, a figure that is predicted to grow next year.

The increased influence of retailers on their customers through apps is thought to be the main reason behind the growing clothes waste crisis. Retailers profits have risen, but the ecological footprint of these profits can be seen across environments throughout the world.

YouTube Influencers

Towards the end of the noughties fashion bloggers were on the rise, but in recent years many of them have made the move to YouTube. Daily vlogs, shopping sprees and catwalks are all common place now amongst fashion YouTubers.

For every 100,000 views a fashion YouTube star makes, they can charge a retailer up to $10,000. This implicit advertising technique has driven customers to sponsored retailers and helped to capture a larger share of the younger demographic.

YouTube influencers will often receive free clothing from their commercial partners to feature on their videos. This has led to a disposable attitude towards clothes as customers look to mimic the ever changing styles of their favourite influencers.

Revolutionising production

A single pair of denim jeans require over 10,000 litres of water to produce, that’s well before you consider the amount of times you will have to wash them. That’s because cotton production is the most water-reliant clothing product in the world.

These water intensive methods are coming under increasing security as climate change is predicted to reduce the amount of water available by up to 40% in 2030. Levi’s are the world’s largest denim producers in the world and they are pioneering new production methods to reduce the level of water needed in jeans production.

Their trademark Water>Less technique has reduced water use by 96% in their clothing production and they are making efforts to free up this technology for other manufacturers.

Where will the fashion industry be in the next 20 years?

Undoubtedly the fashion industry will look different in the next few decades. Most of that change will probably be fuelled by pressure from environmentalist groups and governments. Eco friendly manufacturing will become the norm, but fast fashion and consumerist attitudes will most likely remain the same.

Accessing the Latest Fashion from Catalogues

There are many people who would love to be able to keep up with the latest fashions but do not have the ready cash to do this. When you see an item of clothing or accessories you like, it is only natural to want to purchase it right away. However, if you do not have the money and have to spend time saving for it, there is a chance that it will not longer be as fashionable as it was once you have the cash, or you may have gone off it.

Fortunately, there is another solution. Many people these days decide to access the latest fashions by using catalogues. This is for a number of reasons. First off, it enables people to spread the payments on the purchases they make. But there are also many other benefits for dedicated followers of fashion to look forward to. You will find plenty of catalogues to choose from and you can find the best ones via sites such as comparecatalogues.co.uk.

Some of the Key Benefits

So, what are the main benefits of catalogue shopping? Well, as mentioned previously, one of the key benefits for most people is the ability to spread repayments on purchases made. Keeping up with the latest fashions can be a costly affair and not everyone has the available money to do this. However, using catalogues means that you can benefit from increased flexibility and financial freedom when it comes to purchase clothes and accessories. You will have a credit limit that you can work with, so you know exactly what you can afford to spend.

Another great benefit of shopping for the latest fashions in catalogues is that you can look forward to excellent choice. You will find a huge choice of fashion and accessories in today’s catalogues including items from some of the biggest designers as well as celebrity designed and endorsed fashion. This means that you can find exactly what you are looking for with much greater ease and speed rather than trawling the various fashion shops in person and coming up with nothing.

When you opt for catalogue shopping, another of the key benefits you can look forward to is total convenience. Many people hate going out shopping for clothes, as you have to go from one retailer to the next, scour the rails for the right sizes, spend time in queues, and cope with a pretty stressful experience. When you shop through catalogues, you can even make your purchases online, so you can browse and purchase from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Of course, there are many other benefits you can look forward to when you access the latest fashions via catalogues. This includes the ability to have your items delivered quickly and conveniently to your door. Most will also offer free returns, which means that if an item is not suitable you can send it back without any issues and get the purchase amount credited back to your account.

6 Biggest Eye Makeup Trends to Watch Out for in 2019

Are you tired of doing the same thing with your eye makeup every day? Are you looking to try something new?

Playing with different eye looks can be a lot of fun! But, sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what to do. You want something different. But, you still want it to look flattering.

If you need some inspiration, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to learn about the biggest eye makeup trends to watch out for in 2019.

Metallic Eyeshadow

While we can’t say what’s happening in the heavy metal music scene right now, we can say that the heavy metal makeup scene is on the rise!

And by that, we mean metallic eyeshadow is about to become all the rage. The new trend is to go completely bold with it, by applying it all over your lid. And, the color should be bold as well.

Popular metallic eyeshadow colors include violet, gold, silver, emerald green, and rose. If you order contact lenses online, consider getting colored contacts to really amp up the look.

Big Lower Lashes

Most people apply heavy amounts of mascara to the upper lashes and only add a tiny bit to their lower lashes. But, now the trendy thing is to give those lower lashes some love.

Bold bottom eyelashes are now one of the biggest eye makeup trends. In fact, you won’t even have to worry about buying two separate mascaras for your bottom and top lashes.

Eye makeup brands are catching onto these trends and creating 2 in 1 mascaras with wands for both the top and bottom.

Inner Eye Shine

One of the quickest, easiest ways to make your eyes look brighter and more awake is to dab some shimmery white shadow into their inner corners.

In fact, this trick does such a good job at brightening your eyes that some people decide to wear it alone and not even add on any more eyeshadow.

This little trick used to be relatively unknown. But now, the cat is officially out of the bag. Expect to see a lot of women taking advantage of this eye makeup trend.

Crazy for Cobalt

Most people stick to the basics when it comes to eyeliner colors: brown, black, and the occasional dark blue.

But, a new color is here to make a name for itself, and that color is cobalt.

More and more women are going for bolder eyeliner colors, and cobalt is leading the charge. In fact, the big trend is to add a defined line of cobalt to your bottom lids and to skip the top lid altogether. Then, the rest of the look is kept extremely minimal, with just a touch of mascara and a neutral eyeshadow color.

For those who frequently have tired, red eyes, this is a trend you’ll want to take advantage of!

Smudged Eyeliner

For those who could never perfect the perfect liquid eyeliner line – rejoice! Smudged eyeliner is officially here to save the day.

Use a black pencil eyeliner to give yourself this slightly punk rock yet still classy makeup look.

While you’ll still mostly see the straight line in work settings, get ready to see a lot of women rocking the smudged eyeliner look for a night on the town or even for their daytime look.
