Must Have Pieces from The H&M x Moschino Collection

Ever since the April 11th announcement at Jeremy Scott’s annual Coachella party, I have been anxiously waiting to see the upcoming H&M x Moschino collaboration.

I have loved many of the past H&M and designer collaborations. Some of my personal favorites included Balmain (2015) and Alexander Wang (2014) thankfully allowing my fresh-out-of-university self to indulge my designer obsession, without spending the entirety of my rent money.

As you would imagine from any collection by Jeremy Scott, the main vibe I get is ‘street wear’ with the infamous Jeremy Scott pop. I have always admired how he can take fashion and mix it with recognizable, non-fashion brands. Let’s not forget his Mc Donald’s, Spongebob and Barbie inspired pieces. Even the release of Moschino Fresh Couture perfume was in the shape of a Windex bottle!

This collection is no different with pieces incorporating the MTV logo and Disney characters.

Gold, chunky jewelry also takes center stage with almost every kind of jewelry you could need for a street style look. Over-sized chunky chains, big hoops branded with Moschino, heavy bracelets. Layering definitely seems to be the name of the game, the more chains the better.

Black and gold seems to be a running theme through a lot of the pieces; meaning mix and matching pieces will be seamless.

With the holiday period nearly upon us it is the perfect time to find those sparkly items ideal for any party. I am loving this crystal bustier to pair with some white high waisted, wide legs pants for a sophisticated evening look.

Naomi Campbell no doubt completely stole the show on the recent catwalk in New York, closing out in a stunning silver sequin dress paired perfectly with black boots that will no doubt sell out instantly.

Fear not these boots will also be coming in red, so that’s double the chance of grabbing a pair – right?

My favorite print by far in this collection has to be the one with the CDs which is carried into a few different items throughout. Reminiscent of 80’s/90’s hip hop, this body suit is definitely on my wish list. In fact – this whole outfit is.

And if that wasn’t enough, would you please just look at this padlock style bag. #Love

This sure to be iconic collection officially drops on 8th November in selected H&M stores and online. Time to set those reminders!! Find the full look book here.

Which pieces will you be copping? Take a pic on Instagram and #FashionBombDaily or tag us so we can see your H&M x Moschino looks.

Tannera George @TanneraGeorge put on a plaid skirt suit to go as Dionne from Clueless for Halloween.

Al-Fuquan aka aldotg had one of the most unexpected costumes, donning nude draped fabric as Rihanna at Coachella.

Heather stepped out for Halloween as the Queen of the Jungle. She writes, “I am an advertising executive from the bay area who loves all things fashion! My IG is @dsignedtostyle (style page) and @lovealways_hd (personal).”

Jennifer and family nailed their looks as characters from the Wiz. I love this!

Schuntel and friends also went for the Wiz, but skewed more saucy for their night out.

The Jackson Twins @thejacksontwins_ went as a fierce fighting duo.

Esther Lauren @_estherlauren popped on feathers and a purple suit to evoke Cardi B.

Bombshell Vlo @vlo.vikini was gorgeous as Cleopatra.

Keisha aka @debonairess got busy with the makeup brush, and went as a rainbow hued skeleton. We need a tutorial!

Skeleton was a popular costume this year!

Lastly, Brittney @mrs.brittney.brown and son dressed up as characters from Black Panther for the holiday. Love it! And the hair? Slay Queen!

That does it. I was invited to a Halloween party tomorrow and I still don’t know what I’m going to wear. I know it’s every year, but why do I always wait until the last minute?!? Aargh, let me get creative…

FashionBombDailyShop.com Designer Spotlight: Tutus by Oyemwen

Today I wanted to introduce you to a brand I’m obsessed with! Get into these fun and fabulous Tutu Skirts by Oyemwen.

Nigerian American Oyemwen wasn’t always in the world of fashion. She got a degree in Biology from Atlanta Metropolitan, and was on the pre-med track! She said, “Even with a B.S in Biology pre-med, for me a fashion journey was inevitable. Growing up, my parents were merchants. They imported and exported textiles. So I’ve been immersed in textiles and the fashion world all my life. “

She continued, “To be quite honest as much as I’ve always had a fashion background I never saw it as a career until a fairly recent conversation with my older sister Jane on an airplane. Random right lol. Well at first it seemed like just a normal conversation that we’ve had a million times but what she said to me resonated and left a lasting impact. She stressed that I should focus on what I love and what I am passionate about and do that to its fullest extent. I’ve heard that before, I’ve read it in books, I’ve seen it on TV, I’ve heard a million people say it. But for some reason in that moment (I call it my “AHA” moment) it hit me right there on the plane. Finally, I had a way forward, I was laser-focused on exactly the direction I needed to go. “

Before delving into all things Tutu, Oyemwen started off as a jewelry designer with a company called Fantasy Accessory Box! She writes, “However, late last year I felt the need to identify who the “fantasy accessory box” girl is. It was important for me to show all the different fashion identities of that girl. This included clothing and accessories. With that new discovery came the need for a name change. “

She says, “I have been very fortunate to have people that have followed me and walked with me through this journey for over 5yrs. Over the course of time I have gained amazing friends that have become customers and customers that have become friends and they’ve just stuck with me through this journey. I am eternally grateful for each and everyone of them.”

With a brand she identifies simply as, “From tomboy to princess,” Oyemwen stocks everything from chic suits to ruffled tops to bell bottom jeans and of course, tutus!”

About expanding her brand, she offers, “Thank God for social media. In this new age of Instagram I, as a lot of small businesses, am lucky that I am able to reach people far beyond the scope of what was possible a few years ago. Marketing for me is very important. It’s important to continue to put yourself in front of new people and more than anything continue to offer the absolute best service to the amazing friends that you have gained. In this way the word spreads by word-of-mouth, from sister to sister, friend to friend, friend to colleague. I’m a firm believer in virtual word-of-mouth. Being in front of new people is fantastic but once you are in front of new people the most important thing is to deliver the absolute best service to them.”

In terms of lessons she’s learned, she writes, “I wake up every morning and I just trust God. I pray that I do the best that I can for that day for everyone I encounter virtually and trust that he will lead me and guide me in the right direction. There is no blueprint in doing this. What I have learned on the most is making sure that my heart is pure and trust that God is moving me in the right direction even through the ups and downs. Always trusting that this is the path that it takes to get to his destination for me.”

She offers, “My goal is very simple: I want to continue to be able to create, do what I love and share it with the world. I get so much pleasure knowing deep down in my heart that I have in some way been a tiny tiny part of a life-changing, life-defining moment for someone. I know it is just an outfit, but I know how I feel personally when I celebrate life‘s moments with fashion. In a tiny tiny way being a part of someone’s birthday celebration or special engagement moment or even just a night out with the girls is very fulfilling. So I never want to lose that and I want to continue to do that on a small scale and a large scale. I want to continue to bring joy to people through fashion.

In closing, she says, “I am eternally grateful for Claire and the entire Fashion Bomb Daily team. I am truly grateful for the visibility that Fashion Bomb Daily has provided me. Also, I am grateful for the life lessons, business lessons, and business advice that I have also gained. Thank you so much.”

We love you, Oyemwen!

On the Scene: The #TidalxBrooklyn #Reform Concert featuring Angela Rye in Marc Bouwer, Normani Kordei in Balmain, Meek Mill in Fendi, and More!

The Tidal x Brooklyn went down last night at the Barclay’s Center, with performances by Cardi B, Teyana Taylor, and many more! With the goal of raising awareness for Prison Reform, the event raised money for a great cause. Before some of our favorite performers hit the stage, celebrity attendees and hosts hit the carpet. Take a look at what they wore:

Radio DJ Angie Martinez sparkled in a $12,300 pink Valentino tiger embellished dress and a $1,450 YSL pyramid clutch.

Meek Mill skewed dapper in a $2,980 Fendi striped coat.

Angela Rye was red carpet ready in a blue Marc Bouwer gown.

Normani Kordei slipped on a $3,188 neon Balmain dress.

Danielle Bradbery showed off her stems in a cut out Michael Costello dress.

Fat Joe opted for an UCNY multicolored python jacket.

Lastly, Queen Naija showed off her baby bump in a printed dress by Cheng Hai Chang.

That does it! Who do you think had the best look?

What to Wear to an Escape Room

Escape rooms are quickly becoming a more and more popular activity for families, groups of friends, and work colleagues. Whether you’re attending an escape room for fun with friends or relatives, or as part of a team building day at your workplace, you might be wondering what’s best to wear. During the event, you’ll want to look as good as possible without compromising on comfort and, of course, your ease of moving around. Some escape rooms are highly physical, so it’s a good idea to be aware of how much moving around you’ll need to do before choosing what to wear. We’ve put together some tips and tricks to help you out.

#1. Wear Comfortable Shoes:

First of all, it’s a wise idea to wear comfortable, sturdy footwear that will serve you well when trying to escape the room. Bear in mind that some running might be necessary depending on the type of escape room that you are visiting, so something like sneakers, training or running shoes are usually the best option. Avoid high heels since these can slow you down and make the whole experience more difficult for you. Flip flops or open-toe sandals are usually discouraged as they do not tend to meet health and safety requirements. The last thing that you want is somebody standing on your feet if they are not protected!

#2. Consider the Temperature:

In general, you’ll find that most escape rooms such as this Indianapolis escape room are indoors, so consider the temperature when it comes to picking your outfit. It’s unlikely that you’ll need to bring any outdoor clothing along, so you can leave your coat and umbrella at home. If it’s cold outside, you’ll be able to leave warmer clothing outside in your vehicle, but most escape rooms have lockers or storage spaces that you can use. In some cases, you’ll have to pay a small amount for using the storage facilities, so try to have some change available.

#3. Wear Close-Fitting Garments:

Close-fitting garments, such as gym or sportswear, are a great choice for going to an escape room since they are comfortable and will allow you to move around freely. Whether you wear your usual gym outfit or want to turn up in a cat-suit, it might not even be that bad of an idea. Some people even go to escape rooms dressed as their favorite super-hero and take the opportunity to have some fun with it.

#4. Avoid Anything that Could Get Caught:

Escape rooms can quickly become filled up and wearing something that could get caught on somebody else can quickly become a health hazard. Avoid wearing anything that’s too floaty or clothing that has unnecessary belts or ties on it. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum; avoid wearing long dangly necklaces or large hoop earrings, for example. If it could potentially get in your way, it’s best to leave it at home.

Safety and comfort should be your top priorities when planning escape room fun!
