Celeb Style: Naomi Campbell, Lil Kim, Mya, Kaia Gerber, and Many More Spotted Attending Marc Jacobs’ and Char DeFrancesco’s Wedding!

Written by: Jennet Jusu (@TheJusuQuench)

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs married his beau Char DeFrancesco over the weekend in NYC, and it was a star-studded event! We honestly can’t expect anything less than a fun and fashion filled night to celebrate the lover’s harmonious ‘I Do’s’, so here were the many looks given:

Supermodel Naomi Campbell wore crystal embellished Balmain to the wedding, giving quite the wow factor in a floor length, structured shoulder cape to match.

Lil Kim dazzled in a lacy Antonio Marras dress, wearing a silver fox boa from The Fur Salon at Saks 5th Avenue. She also livened up her look with a pink bow hat by Sarah Sokol Millinery, and Rene Caovilla Caged Mesh Stress sandals

Simple yet modish, Mya and Kaia Gerber both took to Marc Jacobs’ very own line for the occasion. Mya’s effortless look consist of an all white satin ensemble, as Kaia Gerber wore a beige oversized jacket with Wide-Leg Trousers much more daring.

The Hadid sisters were amongst the number who wore Marc Jacobs’ as well. They both settled for simple suits, with Gigi keeping things hip in a slim fit suit, glittery sheer top and a felt hat. However Bella was a tad bit riskier in a satin bustier and Wool Straight-Leg Pants.

Rita Ora gave drama and played with bold colors for her look. Her vintage Saint Laurent Masquerade Evening Gown brought major excitement to the occasion, that was snagged from Resurrection Vintage. Although it was far from typical for such an occasion, the dress was an attention getter for sure!

Emily Ratajkowski showed skin, and was nothing short of tantalizing in a custom Saks Potts made in a bright yellow. Cut deeply in silk, the dress complimented her figure and was extremely audacious.

I think it’s safe to say Bombers and Bombshells, none of the celebs in attendance played it safe for Marc Jacobs’ and Char DeFrancesco’s wedding. Ranging from sexy, chic and sophisticated, most showed up and showed out.

Cardi B Steps Out at Beautycon Wearing A Paco Rabanne Fur Trimmed Coat, Casadei Metallic Pumps, and a custom Sarah Sokol Millinery Hat

Written by: Jennet Jusu | (@TheJusuQuench)

Rap superstar Cardi B is known for making bold statements with the right attire to match, and her appearance at Beautycon NYC was no different. Donning a Paco Rabanne Tan Wool Coat with a Fur Trim, she keeps her color palette of tan and gold accents, consistent. She also gives you a classic feel of old Hollywood glamour with a custom hat by Sarah Sokol Millinery. Still keeping it simple at best, the look is pulled together with metallic Casadei pumps. She’s truly un-fur-gettable (pun intended). Thoughts?

Manolo Blahnik New York Partners Opt Out of Renewing License

A swift email from Manolo Blahnik’s press office has revealed that they have split with their longtime US Partners. The email stated, “After meeting with Kristina Hulsebus, Mr. Blahnik’s niece, who, along with her in house counsel and financial adviser, offered unacceptable terms, George Malkemus and Anthony Yurgaitis, on behalf of MBUSA, have chosen not to renew their license agreement of 37 years.”

Though details of what this means are almost as nebulous as the email, we hope this disagreement won’t result in limited Manolo’s on our shores. The brand, which became popular thanks to Sex and the City, is a fashionista favorite, and has even had collaborations with Rihanna.

Our favorite Georgia Peaches sat down for their Reunion recently! And while the show doesn’t air until Sunday, we have the fashion credits for you well in advance:

Eva Marcille sat pretty in a Shawnte Elizabeth dress and Dolce & Gabbana heels. Cynthia Bailey looked banging by her side in a Jovani Fashions golden gown:

Shamari Devoe sat next to Kandi, who opted for a gold Sherri Hill dress.

Shamari looked brilliant in a green sequined dress by Haus of Falenci’ago. This is one of her best looks.

Porsha showed off her baby bump in a reunion favorite, Beeombi, styled by Jeremy Haynes.

Nene Leakes skewed subtle in a one shoulder Lanvin black gown and Christian Cowan Sandals.

Marlo Hampton was gorgeous in a dress inspired by vintage Thierry Mugler.

And miss Tanya Time slipped on silver and black dress by Hamel by Melina Harris.

Everyone looked amazing!

But who had your favorite reunion look?

Claire’s Life: The Bomb Life VIP Shopping Event with Angela Yee, Mashonda Tifrere, Tiffany Reid, and Caryn Prime, with Proceeds Going to Camba!

Happy Saturday!
A few days ago, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a shopping party at Alice & Olivia’s Soho store, alongside powerful boss ladies Angela Yee, Caryn Prime, Tiffany Reid, and Mashonda Tifrere.

Guests gathered at 98 Greene Street to shop it up for Spring, with a portion of proceeds going towards Camba. Attendees nibbled on hors d’oeuvres from Negril New York, sipped on juices from Drink Fresh Juice, and received makeup touch ups from Nars.

Bombshells and Bombers showed up looking Spring Pretty!
Take a look:

Corazon Yigan-Kohoe looked ravishing in red.

A color blocked look was on tap for this Bombshell.

A blazer and plaid pants looked dapper on this bowtie toting gentleman.

Plaid was a popular choice! This young lady worked a pair of chic pants with a leather jacket.

Celebrity Stylist Ty Hunter popped by in a fun look, topped off by a vibrant beret.

This Bombshell kept it cozy in a sweater dress.

Red pants added pop to this ensemble.

This shopper was flaw free in an embellished Alice & Olivia jacket.

Designer Meriem Romeo shined bright in a yellow dress.

Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Tiffany Reid looked bossy in an Alice & Olivia black blazer, black cowl neck top, and their signature Dylan High Waisted pants.

Ms. Yee worked an Alice + Olivia floral printed dress and chic shorts.

Vanity Fair’s Caryn Prime rocked the most perfect Alice & Olivia Maxi Dress.

And Love & Hip Hop Miami’s Shay Johnson popped by in a red and black look.
As for me: I have found the ultimate Spring Suit! I slipped on an Alice & Olivia neon blazer, Cowl Neck Top, and Dylan High Waisted Pants for the event.

I had to go a couple sizes up in the pants, but they fit like a dream! And they come in 5 colors! Get yours here for endless summer dressing.

It was a fun time!

Upcoming Convos with Claire in Memphis Takes a Look at a Legend: Isaac Hayes, A Black American Icon

Convos with Claire kicks off it’s 2019 season with an enormous bang in good ole’ Memphis Tennessee, where various legends were born and created, such as the iconic celebrity Mr. Isaac Lee Hayes, Jr.  Hayes was a great American singer-songerwriter, actor, voice actor and producer.  He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Among his many, many talents, Sir Isaac Hayes, was a fashion standout in his own right. He became well known for his signature dark shades, full beard and inspirational afro-centric, yet rock star attire worn when he performed or was spotted out and about by fans.

Instagram Reproduction: Isaac Hayes performs in LA in 1972

Born in Covington, Tennessee, Isaac was raised by his grandparents. Hayes rose to stardom through his church, teaching himself to play numerous instruments, including the piano, organ, flute and the saxophone.  While working odd jobs, Hayes started singing in local night clubs, and soon created a Southern soul music label called Stax Records along with another powerhouse music writer and producer David Porter.

His accolades include creating the musical score for the movie “Shaft” in 1971. At the young age of 29, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, musical composition in 1972 for the “Theme from Shaft.”  His one of a kind outfit worn when he recieved his award is on display in the Hard Rock Cafe located in Memphis. Hayes was the third African-American after Sidney Poitier and Hattie McDaniel to win an Academy Award for any category honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He also nabbed two Grammy Awards that same year and a third Grammy for his album Black Moses.

His list of amazing accomplishments goes on and on, including in 1992, when he was crowned honorary king of the Ada region of Ghana, Africa for his humanitarian efforts. The icon appeared in unforgettable films such as “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” and of course he blessed us with his remarkable and addictive persona for the hit television series “South Park,” which reinvented Hayes as a household name in the late 90’s through the early 2000’s as a voice over for the character “Chef.”

His legacy lives on with his children & grandchildren. His son, Isaac Hayes, III is the manager of his father’s estate, & has a dope tee-shirt line and Instagram page devoted to his late father.
