Claire’s Life: Kandi’s Welcome to the Dungeon Tour with Tammy Rivera, Lil Mo, and Foxy Brown

Happy Monday, Bombers and Bombshells!

This past weekend, I was excited to receive an invitation to Kandi’s Welcome to the Dungeon Tour. I had seen the variety show on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and was certainly intrigued, so I took my little sister and her friend Liz with me to Terminal 5 in Manhattan on Saturday night.

The room was filled to the gills with ladies and gents in ‘Dungeon’ inspired attire. Whips, chains, masks, and thongs were on tap. Those in attendance let it all hang out–nipples, ample cheeks, and midriffs were on display, all in the spirit of uninhibited sexual expression.

Celebrities like Wendy Williams, Yandy Smith, Niecy Nash, and more stopped by to show Kandi support.

Then the show began! Kandi opened with her song ‘Ready for This,’ then instructed everyone to turn off their phones. What followed were performances by Deelishes, Lil Mo, Tammy Rivera, and Shamari Devoe, interspersed with demonstrations on fellatio techniques, racy games of dice, and lots of thrusting, courtesy of a well endowed stripper by the name of Bolo.

I was literally yelling and screaming the whole time in shock and awe. I’ll be honest, I had never seen anything like it. New Yorkers were randy and ready for whatever the Dungeon had in store!

The night ended with a performance by Foxy Brown, who came out completely covered: stylist @IamKendrell laced her in Alexander McQueen shield sunglasses, a mask, Vintage Chanel Suspenders, Christian Louboutin leopard spiked boots, and a Vivienne Hu trench.

The crowd, which had been titillated with lots of skin for most of the show, wanted to see Fox’s face. They also thought the performance skewed more Hmm…than Hot, so they let her know…

It was definitely an awkward moment, which Kandi tried to turn around. Sadly, the crowd was not having it, so the DJ closed out the night with hits by Lil Kim, Meek Mill, and more.

After the event, I went backstage and said Congrats to Kandi on an amazing show and also said wassup to Tammy Rivera, who killed her performance.

I might be a little too conservative for the Dungeon! But I did my best “going out look” in an LBD, a Jacket by Arian Simone Collection, and Balenciaga boots.

If you haven’t been to the Dungeon, go when it’s next in your town. Start shopping for your sassy costume and get ready for mouth dropping/watering performances!

Gucci Faces Cultural Appropriation Backlash Over $790 “Indy Full Turban”

By: Morgan Smith (@muvamorgs)

Just months after the fashion house was accused of being racist for the Balaclava “Blackface” sweater, Gucci is now under fire once again for its Fall Winter 2018 turban which appeared in Milan Fashion Week. Even at the time of Fall Winter 2018 Milan Fashion Week, people were disappointed with the fact that Caucasian models were wearing the turban headdress which is associated the Sikh religion.

Recently, the “Indy Full Turban” appeared on the Nordstrom e-commerce site which brought attention back to the fashion house and its products. Nordstrom was selling the Gucci turban for $790 and describing it as “ready to turn heads while keeping you in comfort as well as trademark style”. Fans were in an uproar on Twitter making comments such as “Gucci is at it again” and “Who at Gucci thought this luxury turban was a good idea”.

The Sikh community was even more outraged by the luxury item as the headdress is a symbol of their religion and practices. One viral comment stated, “Dear @gucci, the Sikh Turban is not a hot new accessory for white models but an article of faith for practicing Sikhs. Your models have used Turbans as ‘hats’ whereas practicing Sikhs tie them neatly fold-by-fold. Using fake Sikhs/turbans is wore than selling fake Gucci. products”.

Nordstrom responded to Twitter comments stating that the product has been removed due to the influx of comments made about the retailer carrying the product. However, the product says sold out on the site which has led people to believe that others have actually purchased the item and Nordstrom has changed the name of the turban from “Indy Full Turban” to “Full Head Wrap”.

Here Are the Biggest Trends of Spring 2019

We’ve all been waiting to ditch our heavy winter apparel for the light and breezy clothing of spring. Flowy tops and shorts are popping up as the temperatures get higher, and now is a great time to switch your wardrobe over with the latest trends. If you’re looking to stay ahead of the upcoming season, here are 5 looks you can rock this spring.

Animal Prints

Animal prints made a huge comeback in the past year. No longer tacky or overbearing, these statement pieces are a great way to accent pops of color. Pairing bold articles of animal print with solid blocks of color is a great way to stand out. This spring, try a classy look with a solid black sweater and a leopard print skirt. If you’re feeling edgier, give snakeskin print a try. The greys of snakeskin print match any color, and you can purchase the print on a variety of pieces. Flowy pants with a flared leg and animal print will keep you cool and fashionable for the upcoming months.

Leather

Leather is experiencing a similar comeback to animal prints. We saw leather everywhere at fashion week, and you can expect it to crop up everywhere this spring. If you want to get in on this fashion statement, you can invest in a couple of staple pieces that mix well with a variety of clothing. A black leather jacket is always a safe choice that can be worn with just about anything. If you’re feeling wild, look into a pair of black leather pants. These are great for a night out on the town, especially if you’re going for an effortless, high-fashion look.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses not only offer your eyes protection from the harsh sun, but they also provide an outlet for expression. Any look can be complemented with the right pair of sunglasses, and chic, vintage frames are all the rage right now. Cat-eye and round frames are making a comeback, and there are plenty of applications for these accessories. Go for thin frames with lighter tints to create the hippie boho look or go for thick frames if you’re feeling modern. Of course, you’ll need to ditch your prescription glasses to rock the sunnies, so consider buying contact lenses online.

Hippie

Get ready for a blast from the past, because the 60s–70s hippie look is back. Similar to the bohemian trend that’s been dominant lately, the hippie trend includes floral prints, flared bootleg jeans, and tie-dye. The bright colors and breezy styles are perfect for spring, so this is a perfect time to get your 70s on; a light blouse with florals and a flared arm will circulate plenty of air as temperatures rise, and you’re sure to get tons of compliments on a pair of worn-in bootcut jeans.

Pastel Everything

Of course, spring isn’t complete without a long line of pastel clothing. Baby blues and soft-spoken pinks will be a mainstay in spring trends this year, so get ahead of the game with pieces that you can wear in a multitude of ways. Light blues and pinks are always a safe bet, but branching out with yellows and greens can also be fun. Remember to keep your use of one color limited by pairing pastels with neutral pieces. This year, try pairing a pastel colored top with white jeans or invest in a pair of pastel pants that you can mix and match with a variety of neutral shirts.

Get ahead of the curve with these fashion tips this spring. Try to buy some statement pieces that include animal prints and leather or tone it down with classy sunglasses and soft pastels.
