This Saturday, our highly anticipated networking event went down in the city where it is always sunny and lively…we brought Convos With Claire back to Los Angeles! Missed the festivities? Don’t worry, we’re going to catch you up on what went down in LA for Convos With Claire.
As you know, Convos With Claire provides fashion, networking, and panel discussions for those interested into breaking into fashion or simply curious as to how the industry works. Claire Sulmers gathers her fashion friends from the corresponding cities where Convos With Claire is held and they offer their experiences, perspectives, and chat one-on-one with the attendees. For LA, Convos With Claire goers got the opportunity to hear from celebrity special guests such as tv personality Tami Roman, designer Michael Costello, stylist EJ King, fashion guru Ty Hunter, and skincare expert Rachel Roff of Urban Skin RX!
The theme called for all things tropical and guests showed up and showed out in their best paradise looks! Be sure to check out the street style from Convos With Claire here.
Besides celebrity guest speakers, we had other familiar faces in the building at Convos With Claire. The legendary urban fashion designer Karl Kani and renowned fashion stylist Law Roach even stopped by for the fun!
From floral fabrics, to flirty flared skirts and dresses, the looks from Convos with Claire: LA were definitely tropical and beautiful! I think we all can agree that our lovely guests had fun with their looks and served impeccable fashion moments in their very own way. There’s nothing like a signature style that you’ve made your own despite a theme. But there wouldn’t be great convos with out our EIC Claire Sulmers, encouraging you to break the mode in the name of fashion!
Most of our guest went the traditional route with vibrant color choices and bold floral prints on various textures like satin, tall tops that are so chic and breathable, trousers, and even their accessories!
Some dared to be different and oh, did they make it work! Completely nontraditional, another bold pattern choice of stripes and even PJ sets, were rocked (so good!). Still on the theme of course, our trendy guests took to rich forest green, cream, bold red colors-spotted on our special guest Rachell Roff too-and a white base for modish patterns on two piece sets for a more eclectic look. From safari looks with khaki and army fatigue, or like another one of our other special guests Ty Hunter who wore a dope rain forest top, the different interpretations were stellar!
A few opted for a more chill vibe. Like our other special guests, EJ King and Tami Roman, who wore long linen tops and full white, serving a more balanced and composed look. Even our lovely ladies came through with solid colors of peach, and lavender (peep the trendy fringes!) How chic!
It’s hard to not rave over flowy material, striking patterns that catch the eye, and immaculate cuts and draping of clothes that elevates a look to be much more than just a simple outfit. As genius as a theme like Tropical is, our lovely guest for Convos with Claire: LA made it even more epic! What say you, Bombers and Bombshells? Hope to see you at our next event!
Emily B consistently heats up our Instagram feeds with bomb, stylish looks! Recently, she was spotted in a chic animal print dress by Fashion Nova and it’s a look we can’t see to get over!

In need of some hair inspo? Well, look no further. This revived hairstyle will bring you body and glam with one simple…flip! That’s right the 1960’s hair flips are back and better than ever. This hair trend was popularized by female figures such as Farrah Fawcett and Jacqueline Kennnedy during the 60s. It is funny how trends have a way of coming back full circle these days.
The trend popped off towards the end of 2017 as it was spotted on celebrities such as Rihanna, Bella Hadid, Zendaya, and Kendall Jenner. The look features flipped ends which gives you vintage glam meets Barbie doll vibes.
Now, this hairstyle started to gain traction again and the influencers and celebrities seem to be feeling it! Kylie Jenner, Kash Doll, Hailey Bieber, and more have been seen rocking the hairstyle and looking bomb while doing so!
On the 8th of August, at H&M’s Showroom in New York City for three blissful hours, guests were given a glimpse and taste of South Africa’s rich culture. In the literal scheme of things too, being as though we enjoyed the beautiful preview of clothing over wine made by South African’s first black female winemaker, Ntsiki Biyela. By the incredible efforts of designer Palesa Mokubung, the preview of her collaboration with H&M, ‘Mantsho x H&M’ hosted by UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Nomzamo Mbatha was shown, and we were left in awe.

Derived from the Basotho people, which is an official language in Lesotho and South Africa, the Setheso word ‘‘Mantsho’ means ‘Black is Beautiful’. It comes as no surprise that the clothing label by Palesa Mokubung, that was created in 2004, would derive from a place so forthright, powerful and inspiring. Not only does the clothing label have accolades that range from being nominated for many of South African’s major publications notably as ‘The African Trend Dictator’, cleverly Palesa Mokubung created Mantsho clothing with an edgy and modern twist of fine silks and woven fabrics that’s 100% known for being a 100% original Mantsho piece. And now she can add being the first African designer to collaborate with H&M for a collection, to her list of major accomplishments. As if earning a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Fashion Design, and showcasing her clothing label Mantsho at the BRICS Fashion Show, isn’t enough; which is an international fashion show hosted by South African government through the Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) in partnership withSouth African Fashion Week (SAFW).
On August 15th globally, customers will be able to purchase‘Mantsho x H&M’ online and in stores. How amazing! May the countdown begin. What say you, Bombers and Bombshells?

Just a glimpse into what her world was about, one thing that was for certain about the New York born reality star, was her powerful presence and fierce personality. From supporting roles in various television series such as Card Sharks, One on One, CBS’ Extant, and movie cameos, we were given a deeper idea as to what Tami Roman had to offer the industry with such raw talent, and unapologetic attitude.
