Best Halloween costume ideas for casino fans

Halloween is just around the corner and almost everybody is starting to prepare for this beloved holiday. However, everyone tends to find inspiration in things such as mythology or thriller or any kind of made-up characters that we’ve seen in countless fairy tales, Sci-fi shows, and whatnot.

But, what if you could choose a costume that would go directly with your tastes in entertainment? What if you could go to that local Halloween party dressed as something giving a strong casino vibe?

In this article, we will give you some ideas on how you can create some of the most interesting and eye-catching costumes for yourself as well as your friends. Some of them will indeed be based on Sci-fi or fantasy characters, but hey, as long as they correlate with anything relevant to a casino, they’re alright in our books.

So, without further ado, let’s begin.

Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland

It’s always nice to have some kind of source material and not have to do anything from scratch right? Well, the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland is probably one of the best inspirations you can take from a fantasy movie or fairy tale.

Although it’s not directly outlined in the story that Red Queen represents the queen of hearts, it’s very heavily hinted at it. The overall shape of her hair, the color of the dress and the small hearts sewn inside the dress.

It would be just as easy to simply change the color pallet and turn it into something like the Black Queen, where the red is replaced with black, and the emphasis on the hearts is replaced with an emphasis on spades.

Pinterest seems to agree with us on this idea, as there’s a bunch of dresses to be seen in the source we found there.

We believe it would be an amazing costume worthy of applause from everybody else.

A slot machine

As goofy as it may sound, there are actually costumes out there that you can either make, rent or buy that are basically interactive slot machines, well at least according to Casinopånett they are so, why not use them for a fun party.

The costume is very simple and isn’t necessarily designed for just women or just men. It’s pretty unisex.

However, make sure that when you’re designing the costume, you make sure that it’s interactive and can actually spin the reels if somebody pulls the lever. If you check the source, you’ll find out that it makes for a really nice ice breaker with strangers and an even better tool for playing games with friends at a party.

A roulette dress

Finally, let’s finish off this article with another dress for our female readers. The idea of the dress is pretty simple.

Imagine something which has the shape of a cone that has been cut off in the middle. You turn it upside down and simply mark it with the red, black and green colors that are present in roulette games.

If you’re extra dedicated to making it as perfect as possible, you can simply make this part of the dress from a special type of fabric that will allow a ball to spin and land on specific parts, thus creating a roulette from scratch of sorts.

Believe us when we say that this costume will definitely but you in the center of attention.

What to plant in your garden for year-round flowers

What’s better than spending time in a beautiful garden that has stunning flowers in it? A splash of color, sweet aromas, and looking at how nature works is a great way to spend a few minutes of each day – whether it’s a place to have your morning coffee or just something to look at as you have your hot drink indoors on a chilly day.

We want to enjoy our gardens all year round, and want to keep those rich colors through all the seasons. These are some of the flowers and plants you may want to have in your space to do that, depending on the soil and climate of where you live.

Spring

This is a great time of year to experience your garden – everything feels fresh, new, and exciting as we get to feel the growing warmth of the sun on us after a long, cold winter. It’s when nature seems to come to life again, too, with new plants and animals making their ways into the world.

Most flowering blooms do so during the spring, which also helps make this feel like a special time of year. Anemones, forsythia, and peonies are great flowers to choose for your garden. If you have trees, you’ll also benefit from their blossoms and are a great sight.

Summer

This is a beautiful time of year. The sun’s out, it’s warm, and we spend a lot of our time in the garden – either our own or other people’s – as we make this space another room to our homes.

Wildflowers such as poppies, echinacea, and primroses will be a great, low-maintenance addition to your garden that will add stunning splashes of colors in every shade throughout the season. It’s easy enough to get seeds from places such as https://www.naturesseed.com/wildflower-seed/ to bring blooms to your borders. The only thing you need to plan will be getting the seeds in time for planting.

Autumn

It’s time to put on our coziest jumpers, warmest woollies, and big boots. Once it’s time for pumpkin spice lattes and apple pies, it’s time for autumn. The tree leaves change to beautiful shades of orange, red, yellow, and brown – for many of us, it’s our favorite time of year.

You can still get other colors in your garden, though, including pansies and hardy begonias. You could also go for flowering cabbages and a variety of sedum plants.

Winter

The bright, crisp mornings can tempt us outside (unless we have to for work or school), but we’re usually wrapped up in blankets, and we conclude there isn’t much reason to go outside and appreciate our gardens?

However, if you’ve thought long-term for your plant choice, you should have evergreens such as hollies and other berry bushes that will add bright shades to the otherwise dull colors outside. Towards the end of this season, you might also get the likes of snowdrops peeping through – showing that spring is just around the corner.

MickeyBooom Says: Fashion meets Politics; 5 fall trends Influenced by Current Events

Credit: Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images Europe

The old adage, “art imitates life” has always rang true, especially in the looping continuum through which fashion revolves. Each trend, print, silhouette, and texture of the garment being a reimagined version of it’s predecessor as time goes by, which will inform five upcoming trends, for both men and women. The way in which many people express themselves through fashion is an indirect reaction of the human experience and/or condition at that moment.

At no time in history has technology allowed people to express their reactions quicker than that of the now formidable beast we call the internet. While scrolling through amongst the inescapable issue of climate change, entertainment industry fodder, and especially Trump’s cringeworthy presidential blunders, there lies an overwhelming need to escape. This ideology has been going on since the dawn of the 20th century, for example, Christian Dior’s 1947 post-WW2 “new look”, which was a departure from the structural silhouettes of the time and a return to floral glamorous femininity (As seen on Cardi B at Paris Fashion Week). The female form was accentuated and the floral prints were bold.
A simple floral gown accessorized delicately will do the trick.

Parisian fashion house Balenciaga to this day sells whimsically done yet politically driven ready-to-wear garments which are basically reworked Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign logos. Though not spoken, this seems like a yearning for a more progressive thinking leader. This trend of campaign attire will rekindle itself as the 2020 presidential election kicks into higher gear.

The decades past offer a clue as to what we can expect in the near future. For example, Hedi Slimane’s collections for Céline are showing a 70’s inspired flared silhouette á la bell bottom trousers, which we are sure to see on the streets this fall. Do pair this trend with platforms to elongate the legs.

Based on the current political climate, youth movements like 80’s graffiti will continue, as seen in Versace’s recent ready-to-wear collections. The graffiti and print trend can be pulled off with gaudy accessories and luxe materials like leather.

The desire for the good times to roll will be evident as more celebratory hats such as berets hit the runways and sidewalks this fall. Rita Ora stood out as the guest of honor at a party during Paris Fashion Week celebrating her collaboration with Escada. Berets are best worn with statement drop earrings and luxurious fabric turtleneck sweaters.

Some Tips For how to dress for the casino nights

Casino attire has been evolving over time. The evolution involves not only the staff dress codes but also customer clothing.

In the earlier era of casinos, the employees were required to wear full-fledged suits and such official clothing. And while there was no strict dress code for the patrons, at some point they also started showing up in their long evening dresses and tuxedos.

In today’s casino industry, however, the staff dress code became less formal with uniform dress slacks, button-up shirts, vests, and bowties. On the other hand, the casinos started enforcing the patron dress code policies demanding more suits and evening dresses.

If you’re a person of free expression in any aspect of life and don’t really want to adhere to the strict rules of casino attire, you can always opt for the online casino providers such as PlayAmo, which is probably the best online casino Australia out there right now. But, in that case, this article is probably not for you.

In fact, in this article, we’re going to talk about some of the modern looks that you can go for when preparing for the casino ventures.

007-style

You may have already guessed it: we’re talking about James Bond. To be more precise, Bond himself and his Bond Girl, also known as ‘The Silver Fox’. This is the look that the majority of casino enthusiasts will choose most of the time.

Both men and women are dressed up with a classic tuxedo or suit-and-tie and black or red dress with some pearl jewelry. With this classic look, the chances of you enchanting the whole venue and even hitting the jackpot are extremely high!

But jokes aside, the tux and an evening dress is the most common dress code enforced by the casinos. That’s why you’ll be appreciated by the administration even more.

Classic, but not too glamorous

This look is pretty similar to the Bond-style with its classic look. But the similarity only goes for the trousers and button-down shirts for men. Beyond that, they’re not required to overcomplicate their look with vests or ties or suits.

As for women, they can dress up with a pair of trousers and a fashionable top. Even the heels are not mandatory; if they don’t feel like it, they can always go for the sandals and pair them with the long earrings to finish up the look.

The Flapper-Dapper

The Flapper-Dapper look is a full-on 1930’s look that you might have seen in many old (or modern retro) movies. The look is full of shiny and fluffy apparel.

The men can go for a tuxedo with opera gloves and shiny-shiny shoes. And for the extra touch, they can never go wrong with the Omega pocket watch! The Dapper look also goes well with the flashy money clip with fake (or real) money bills – it leaves an impression that you’re a player of the class.

Women should always opt for the famous feather boas and long or cocktail dresses. The look is complemented with deep blacks and lots of makeup – rich red lipstick with Smokey eyes.

Cozy Mingle

This is probably the best look for those gone-rouge gamblers who don’t really want to adhere to strict dress codes but also long for the actual casino experience.

For this style, men can go for khaki pants or dark jeans with polo shirts and brown loafers. And for women, a casual dress with a denim jacket and playful colors is the way to go.

With this look, you are ready to spin the slot reels as long as you like and then go on casually with the rest of the day.

Casino fashion in the actual fashion

While the dress codes and specific looks are certainly a thing for the casino venues, these looks can also extend to the actual fashion industries. Especially classical elements such as sequins and shiny fabrics.

For example, Moschino, the Italian luxury fashion house, organized a Las Vegas-themed show in 2017 which featured a lot of sequins, pastels, and Betty Boop-inspired attire.

Even the big fashion names like Michael Kors, Balenciaga, Givenchy, and others get their fashion inspiration from the online slots games like the Golden Era and Immortal Romance.

Gambling and fashion are apparently getting along pretty easily; one would say, even naturally.

Dressing for Power: The Fashion of the 2020 Presidential Candidates

Macintosh HD:Users:ginateichert:Desktop:psychology of fashion in politics.jpg

They’ve got their streamlined suits on, their carefully-selected bold-hued ties and their power pearl necklaces all in place – and each and every fashion choice has a big strategy behind it. When it comes to politics, every detail matters – every word, every move and yes, every style statement. Online retailer of pearl jewelry Laguna Pearl invited Behavioral Psychologist, Dr Carolyn Mair, founder of psychology.fashion, and author of The Psychology of Fashion, to share her valuable insight on the fashion choices of the 2020 presidential candidates.

Whether they choose their garments based on who they want to be seen as or on who they truly are, one thing is for certain: every little detail, from the color of a suit, a cap or a shirt to the type (and the amount) of accessories they opt for conveys something specific about their political game. The public’s perception is strongly influenced by the candidates’ style choices, such as wearing or not wearing a tie – or simply adding a lapel pin in the equation.

When it comes to President Trump, Dr. Mair says his signature red tie is definitely not random – in fact, it’s a pivotal element in a game of power, designed to convey authority. The President’s style mojo seems to oscillate around the idea of “I’m the boss, and you can put your trust in me” – and he does it successfully. Mair notes that Trump’s decision to adhere to classic business attire is a clear representation of a traditional figure, one that doesn’t mingle with progressive ideas and prefers conformity.

On the other hand, blue is the go-to choice of candidates who are (or want to seem) more relatable , such as Joe Biden, whose image is fully dedicated to the idea of “confidence and trust”. Presenting himself as the rather ordinary candidate, or one of “the common people”, Biden’s style choices, while still put-together, perfectly reflect his jovial nature and accessibility. His style is definitely not static – in fact, it’s ever-changing, yet unmistakably his. Biden is a fan of fashionable clothing that is always fitted, yet casual in silhouette. Mair observes that many of his outfits are not only approachable, but also friendly, cool and classic – a successful style recipe.

In the analysis Dr. Mair conducted for Laguna Pearl, Bernie Sanders stands out as the political figure that resembles most the image of “your favorite uncle”. With his arsenal of loose hair and oversized shirts, his choices are rather nonchoices and his style overall looks like an afterthought – but that might simply be his strategy aimed at winning hearts and votes. Authenticity seems to be one of the main goals when it comes to Bernie Sanders – which is why he often comes across as someone not preoccupied with fashion – and that may appeal to voters, who can easily resonate with a political figure who isn’t trying to use fashion as a political tool.

When it comes to the women in the run for presidency, Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren count on accessories to make a statement. The two candidates often opt for a classic pearl necklace as their statement piece, but take slightly different approaches when it comes to their garments. Harris oscillates between smart-casual and modern pieces, always impeccably tailored, while Warren embraces bold color to the fullest and opts for saturated sweaters and blazers – unless she’s attending a less formal event, where lighter hues are usually her go-to. Harris gravitates towards ensembles that mix understated clothing pieces with statement jewelry – a style game that often conveys “listening instead of commanding.” While Harris counts on a mish-mash of high and low, Warren “is less interested in creating a stylish image through her clothing” and aims to always communicate trustworthiness and safety.

A look at past candidates reveals that there has been a slight departure from the 24/7 formal business attire – and we’ve seen several political figures exhibiting a much more casual look. One example is presidential candidate Mike Huckabee during the 2016 election campaign, who showed a more relaxed version of himself at The Iowa State Fair. Next, it was Kamala Harris, who also opted for a very casual look as she took the stage at the same event, where she showed a less-tailored form of herself to indicate relatability and openness.

What you should and shouldn’t wear when visiting a casino

It may seem an arbitrary rule to dress before going to a casino considering how much money you’re going to spend there, but there are some groups of people who like to look the part while gambling in a large venue.

Honestly, the first time you actually dress up before going gambling, you’ll notice an immediate change in the experience. Wearing a tuxedo while spinning the roulette simply feels different than spinning it with a hoodie and shorts on.

So, in this article, we will describe the best outfits you can possibly wear when going to your local casino regardless of which country you’re from.

But first, let’s decide what clothes you should definitely not wear in a casino.

What you should not wear

According to compliance managers at NorskeCasino there’s an unwritten rule for pretty much any shop or venue you enter. Don’t dress as if you work there, you will be approached numerous times and ruin your experience.

Therefore, we don’t really need to tell you that you shouldn’t dress like an usher, a dealer or a croupier.

This means that you should not wear a white shirt with a black vest over it and a bow tie or a tie.

This combination of clothes immediately indicates that you’re most likely working in the establishment. However, if this is exactly the type of clothes you enjoy wearing, then it’s best to simply switch up the colors.

For example, wear a grey vest instead of black, or a blue shirt instead of white. This small contrast of colors will help other players around you understand that you’re simply a customer and not an employee.

This is one of the reasons why luxury hotels and casinos have a very over-the-top uniform for their employees so that their guests are not too limited in the attire they wear.

What you should wear

To be honest, the attire you wear should be completely dependant on you. Nobody will judge you for wearing shorts or a hoodie in a casino, but there are some clothes that will help you feel a bit more natural in the venue, especially if it’s a luxury location.

A Tuxedo for men is often the case thanks to Casino Royale the movie. Men tend to look a bit more professional and knowledgeable about the games they’re playing in a tuxedo. For example, when playing poker, it’s likely that your opponents will take your bluffs a bit more seriously based on your attire if it’s a tuxedo or some kind of suit. But, if you’re dressed too casually, then the seriousness could be a bit less intense, but that can also be used as an advantage.

For the ladies, there are almost no implications about the type of clothes you should be wearing. Almost any type of attire is going to attract attention from your fellow players and take you seriously during any game.

I’d say that a flashy sparkling red dress would be the best choice but that’s just too cliche isn’t it?

The attire restraints are sometimes the sole reason why people prefer to go to a resort casino in most cases, as they can gamble there even in their swimwear, or the traditional Hawaiian shirt with shorts and a sun hat.

Overall though, wearing something fancy is likely to make your opponents take you seriously during skill-based games, but in any other case, there are no restraints for what you wear unless the casino states so directly.
