10 Fashion Tips for Men 2020: Matching up Style to Appeal a Woman

One of the most interesting events in the fashion world is a biannual men’s fashion exhibition Pitti Uomo. The exhibition is an inspiration for strong sexes, those who want to follow the latest fashion trends. Pitti Uomo is the event where the newest trends in street style are presented to the public. This season’s exhibition is no exception: we can see the growing popularity of sports accents and elegant casual clothing. Many curious trends that are worth paying attention to have been observed this year. We have prepared for you an overview of the most interesting fashion trends for the winter season. If you are looking for a way to refill your wardrobe, or if you are interested in what to wear on a cool autumn day, we recommend you to look at our review of fashion trends presented at Pitti Uomo.

#1. Sports overtones

Gentlemen are now dressed not only in stylish suits and classic accessories but in sportswear too. As a result, we have amazing ensembles – an incredible combination of sophisticated taste and an independent spirit of sport. You can try out such a combination by yourself – think over a set of those things that are typical for official style and casual style, for example, for pants of strict cut, and try to put on a coat with a hoodie and sneakers.

#2. Stylish duo

If you want to stand out from the crowd and strike a chord, then dress up with your friend or girlfriend in a matching outfit. Paired images are the trick of the coming season. It’s a very unusual way to draw the attention of the crowd so that you don’t have to wear floral clothes and bold prints to have their heads turned after you – just think through your paired outfit. Give preference to discreet colors and elegant design.

#3. A new life for a denim shirt

Unexpectedly, this season’s trend is the denim shirt. Stylists have taken a different look at this detail of the wardrobe. It turns out that such a shirt can be easily combined with more stringent style things.

Denim shirt looks great with various ties, trousers, blazers, and coats. The image is not so strict and somewhat more practical.

#4. A fresh look at driver’s gloves

Trendy modern fashionistas are again attracted to driver’s gloves. This accessory can be seen on many exhibitors and guests of the event. Features of these gloves include numerous holes, knuckles, shortened cuffs, and a buckle with a back button. All these details have been specially designed for comfortable driving. However, these gloves can be worn not only by those who spend hours driving a car but also by anyone who follows the latest fashion trends.

#5. Unusual rings

Particular interest at Pitti Uomo is aroused by men’s costume jewelry: these are bracelets, chains, and earrings, but the most favorite accessory of this season is massive rings. The rings are worn on every finger to create an eye-catching image. To be as bright as the iconic faces of this Florentine event, four rings should be worn on one hand at a time, all of which are different but still in the same style.

#6. Hats. Who says it’s old-fashioned?

Another popular accessory is hats. The trend is still for soft felt hats, the so-called “fedora,” and hats with wide margins. Do not be afraid to look old-fashioned, the main thing is to find a hat for your coat or jacket. In fact, you can create a quite elegant look with the help of a good old hat.

#7. From grandmother’s stocks. A patchwork coat

Patchwork is one of the most fashionable trends and not a new one. Such unusual styles of outerwear undoubtedly attract attention with their originality. Here, it is necessary to specify one nuance – if you wish to put on a similar coat, then other subjects of your image should be selected accordingly.

#8. Camel color

Somebody might find camel color endlessly boring, but actually, its wealth of shades varies from warm camel to tender caramel color.

#9. Large bags: a practical accessory

More and more men are choosing to change their look wearing handbags. This season, this eternal male problem is solved where-to-put-all-the-essentials is solved – just take a large bag with you. The so-called shopper bag has become a favorite of many guests of the Pitti Uomo Fashion Festival. So choose a spacious bag and experience all its charms – now you always know where to put all the essentials.

#10. Great duo: jacket + turtleneck

Poor weather conditions are no reason to be upset if one knows what to wear when the weather is bad. A jacket and a comfortable turtleneck with a high gate will save you from the rain. A casual turtleneck can perfectly match a classical jacket. You feel the comfort and convenience and look fashionable at the same time.

Claire’s Life: Toasting to the C.R.O.W.N. Act Ending Discrimination Against Natural Hair with Dove, Esi Eggleston Bracey, Kelli Richardson Lawson, and More!

This morning, I toasted with Dove, Esi Eggleston Bracey, Kelli Richardson Lawson, Tai Beauchamp, Steven Jones, Latham Thomas, and many more to celebrate advancements with the C.R.O.W.N. Act and learn more about how we can galvanize our communities to end discrimination based on hair type in the workplace and beyond.

In case you’re not familiar, the C.R.O.W.N. act stands for “Creating a Respectful and Open World For Natural Hair.” Legislation surrounding the CROWN Act seeks to end discrimination against black women and men for wearing their natural hair at work and in school ! In 2019 alone, Dove and the CROWN Coalition have passed the CROWN Act in both California and New York! THIRTEEN more states are in progress AND a Federal Bill was introduced just last week.

My hope is that working with Dove and the Crown Act, young ladies of the next generation don’t have to worry about their hair when applying or on the job–they can focus on their talent and adding value.

Learn more about Dove and the CROWN act at Dove.com and TheCrownAct.com, and stay tuned for more ways we can get this ACT passed nationally and internationally.

Best of 2019 Winners Circle: Kollin Carter is Stylist of the Year, Jessica Rich is Shoe Designer of the Year + Results Part 1!

The votes are in, and we have the results of our Best of 2019 series. Read on for the winners in each category:

Stylist of the Year: Kollin Carter.

Though it was very close, Cardi B’s stylist Kollin Carter nabbed 1st place in the stylist contest. The young visionary single handedly turned Cardi B into a style icon, putting the Bronx born Bombshell into bold, head turning looks like the Thom Brown gown she wore to the Met Gala (which also won our vote for Outfit of the Year).

From Mugler to Sally LaPointe to Dolce & Gabbana, Kollin keeps Cardi on point. We can’t wait to see what he does next.

Shoe Designer of the Year: Jessica Rich.

Few fashionistas could step foot outside without donning a pair of perfectly cute clear heels, popularized by Jessica Rich.

The sheer versatility of her signature stilettos and sandals made them the go to heel for J. Lo, Cardi B, Kylie Jenner, Saweetie, Normani, Kelly Rowland, and more. Here’s to comfortable, cute footwear, and continued innovation!

Designer of the Year: Michael Costello

As we announced at the Faby’s, Michael Costello is our Designer of the Year. The weekend we announced it was quite impactful for him–he dressed three female rap legends in a matter of days: Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Lil Kim.

This year for Mr. Costello has been punctuated by many alluring looks, from Jeannie Mai sparkling in silver at the Sno Ball to J. Lo and Michelle Williams wearing Michael for a myriad of occasions.

Fashion Collab of the Year: Nicki Minaj x Fendi

Nicki Minaj was the first female rapper to collaborate with a luxury brand with her Fendi Prints On collection–for that she should be celebrated! Her fantastic collaboration with the Italian house was voted in first place with 90% of the vote!

The teaming of female hip hop and high fashion is a long time coming. Kudos to Nicki for busting that door open, blazing trails for those to follow fabulously behind her.

Fashion Bombshell of the Year: Sarlea Mah from DC.

The crowd has spoken, voting in Sarlea Mah from DC as Fashion Bombshell of the Year with 55% of your votes. We adore Sarlea Mah’s style, from her cinched waists to theatrical hats and bold prints. Slay on, Sarlea!

That’s the first batch of results! Stay tuned for Part 2 of Best of 2019, the winners circle.

On the Scene: Deck the Runway Presented by Fancy by Francesca Watson Featuring Emerging Designers Cicily Swimline, Sarah Christie, and More!

Happy Tuesday!

A day after the Faby’s, I jetted down to Orlando for the Deck the Runway show presented by Fancy by Francesca Watson, hosted by Elise Neal.

The annual showcase highlights emerging designers from Florida and beyond. Check out a few stand out styles from featured collections:

Fancy by Francesca Watson

Francesca Watson offered holiday ready dresses and festive separates for every age, shape, and occasion. Her collection comprised bold hues, embellishments, and high hems. I found many items I would add to my Christmas Wish List!

George & Ginger Pattern Company by KristiFitzpatrick

George and Ginger Pattern Co’s presentation was anchored by a geometric print, rendered in vests, dresses, and tops. Flirty ruffles and subdued silhouettes made this collection stand out from the crowd.

LaVincient by Reginald Wilson

Reginald Wilson is a new designer, but presented very promising, couture level pieces that could easily be found on international runways. Strong shoulders, alluring cut outs, and sophisticated flair portends a very bright future for the emerging brand.

Cicily Swimline by Khadijah Glasgow

Want to go to the beach, but keep it cute and covered? Look no further than Cicily Swimline! The brand carries adorable swim dresses, two pieces, and sun dresses for the fashion forward yet demure.

East Coast Couture by LeeAnn Dussault

While one typically things of all black everything for East Coast, LeeAnn Dussault’s interpretation of the name conjures up swirly patterns, floral prints, and easy, breezy maxi dresses.

UDS Clothing by Melvin McGill

UDS Clothing presented sportswear, African Prints, and a little something for the fellas. Mini dresses, shorts, and tanks would be perfect for casual weekends in the sun.

Sarah Christie Designs

Conservatives working women (think Olivia Pope) would love just about everything in Sarah Christie’s collection, from her smart, button front dresses to her fun pastel colored cocktails.

Lainy Gold Designs

Theatrical was the call for Lainy Gold Designs, who offered fantastic feathers, birds, florals, and ruffles. Only the bold need apply.

That does it! See anything you like?

Nene Leakes was spied outside the Today Show with Strahan, Sara & Keke in a $776 Stella McCartney Velvet and Lace Top, $657 Stella McCartney pants, furry sandals, and a $3,390 Fendi Embossed Runaway Leather Shopper:

Stella McCartney reinvented the sporty sweatshirt with a touch of modern opulence. This casually slouched top is spliced in a rich array of romantic lace and plush velvet, its black finish keeping the intricate and artful look insouciant.

The Inaugural Faby’s Awards with Kim Blackwell, Bethann Hardison, Esi Eggleston Bracey, Robert Verdi Sponsored by Dove, Ciroc, Nett Lifestyle, and more!

On Friday, December 13th, Fashion Bomb Daily celebrated its first Faby’s Awards, acknowledging those on the scene and behind the scenes who make a significant impact in the fashion and beauty industries.

Guests gathered at Westside Loft for drinks by Ciroc, food by Chef Ameer Natson of Fresh Chef Catering, beats by DJ JFK, and a performance by Models Inc!

After mixing and mingling, our ceremony began! Robert Verdi, Ashleigh Demi, and I shared MC duties giving awards to our fabulous recipients:

Our first Faby’s Award, Executive of the Year, went to Kimberly Blackwell, the CEO of PMM Agency. Executive of the Year is awarded to an entrepreneur who dominates their field while inspiring others with their integrity, commitment to community, and style.  As Chief Executive Officer of PMM, Kimberly Blackwell is heralded as one of the country’s top executives in marketing and advertising. Between running her own businesses, sitting on boards, and brokering investments, she doesn’t have much time. Yet, she never complains – and still makes the time to “pay it forward” in the form of service to others. A quick view on her Instagram page @KimBlackwellPMM, shows a woman on the move, who easily goes from the boardroom to front rows at Gucci Shows in Milan. She is an inspiration to many, and for that, we gave her our Executive of the Year Award.

Our next Activism Award went to Esi Eggleston Bracey.

Esi Eggleston Bracey is a seasoned executive leader who has a proven track record of accelerating brand growth while doing “good” for our community.  She was the person that put Queen Latifah on CoverGirl products … and then she added Ellen Degeneres, Zendaya, Rihanna and more.  She was the person that created #GIRLSCAN and gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to organizations supporting girls. Esi currently leads the FIVE BILLION dollar Personal Care portfolio for Unilever North America, which includes brands like Dove, Degree, TRESemmé, AXE, and SheaMoisture. She has led the important work on DOVE around hair discrimination this year, working to ensure a world of beauty INCLUSIVITY for ALL of us.

Under her leadership, Dove co-founded the CROWN Coalition to drive legislative change with The C.R.O.W.N. Act … which stands for “Creating a Respectful and Open World For Natural Hair”. In 2019 alone, Dove and the CROWN Coalition have passed the CROWN Act in both California and New York!  THIRTEEN more states are in progress AND a Federal Bill was introduced just last week. Esi’s dynamic energetic and out-of-the-box thinking has been the hallmark of Esi’s storied career … and we were delighted to honor for her most recent work to end hair discrimination for ALL of us in this country.  A native of Chicago, Illinois, Esi graduated from Dartmouth College and currently lives with her family in New York City.

The Hairstylist of the Year Award, sponsored by True Indian Hair and Curls, went to Arrogant Tae. Tae attended the festivities with Dreamdoll wearing dollar printed designs by Duckie Confetti.

Our Designer of the Year award, sponsored by Aces Braces, went to Michael Costello. In his speech, he underscored the purpose of being kind to people and doing great work!

And our Fashion Icon award went to Living Legend Bethann Hardison for her consistent work towards diversity and inclusion in the Fashion Industry, topics that are near and dear to our hearts here at FBD!

Other award recipients included Stylist of the Year, sponsored by BlacGlas, which went to Kollin Carter, and Makeup Artist of the Year that went to Erika La Pearl! Other winners will be announced next week!

Bombers and Bombshells came from all over New York City and the nation to celebrate with us in festive ensembles! It was certainly time to shine.
