Possible Acne Causes and When You Need to See a Doctor

Acne is a common skin condition that affects most adults and teenagers but it can affect anyone of any age group. The skin condition arises when the hair follicles become trapped with oil and other dead skin cells. It always causes whiteheads, blackheads are otherwise known as pimples and it always has specific areas of the body it appears on.

One will commonly find acne on the face, forehead, chest, upper back, and shoulders. Effective treatments are available, but acne can be persistent. The pimples and bumps heal slowly, and when one begins to go away, others seem to crop up.

Depending on its severity, acne can cause emotional distress and scar the skin. The earlier you start treatment, the lower your risk of such problems. People suffering from acne can learn more about this skin condition from www.beautyblog.sg.

Acne has several causes

Four things can prune an acne reaction and the reaction come as a result of:

· Excess oil production

· Hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells

· Bacteria

· Excess activity of a type of hormone (androgens)

Excess oil production

Acne generally appears on the face, forehead, chest, upper back, and shoulders. These areas are sensitive to acne reactions because they generate a lot of oil. After all, the areas contain most of the oily glands, and hair follicles are interconnected to the oil glands.

Hair follicles

What happens is, the hair follicle wall may swell and generate a whitehead, or perhaps the follicle can be exposed which makes it become dark and cause a blackhead. A blackhead can appear like dirt that has been stuck in pores but in reality, the pore is blocked with bacteria and oil which becomes brown when visible to air.

Bacteria

For pimples, they are kind of swollen red spots with a white center that pops out when blocked hair follicles become inflamed with any bacteria. Blockages and any sort of inflammation that creates penetrate deep into hair follicles always generate cystlike lumps under the skin’s surface.

Other pores in the skin which are the openings of the skin’s sweat glands are not usually a part of acne causes.

When to see a doctor when suffering from acne

Acne can be quite disturbing and it is essential to try to get rid of them. The patient can start by reading about possible treatment methods from beautyblog.sg especially when it comes to self-care remedies that can help in getting rid of the acne and possible spots.

If the self-care remedies do not clear the acne, then it is time to visit a doctor so they can prescribe stronger medications to make the acne go away. If after visiting the doctor there are no improvements, then seeing a dermatologist is the best step to take.

For several women, acne can last for years and some other women get to experience this a week before their period starts. This acne type clears off without any sort of treatment in women who utilize contraceptives.
