The lace trimmed shorts were originally conceived to wear under summer dresses and shorts to prevent thigh rub.

Covid-19 has had a dramatic effect upon retail, reducing foot traffic significantly, and sending several brick & mortar stores into a tailspin. #StayHome requirements have caused many designers, including Hanifa, to offer 3D live streamed fashion shows. Now Michael Kors has announced that he will not be showing during Fashion Week in September.
In a press release, Kors writes, “We are designing and will produce a Spring/Summer collection, which we will unveil at a later date. I have for a long time thought that the fashion calendar needs to change.”

He continues, “It’s exciting for me to see the open dialogue within the fashion community about the calendar—from Giorgio Armani to Dries Van Noten to Gucci to YSL to major retailers around the globe—about ways in which we can slow down the process and improve the way we work. We’ve all had time to reflect and analyze things, and I think many agree that it’s time for a new approach for a new era.”

Michael Kors Collection will now present and produce two collections per year, one for spring/summer and one for fall/winter. According to the designer, the move is an effort to create a more streamlined approach on the sales floor.
Deliveries of Michael Kors Collection product will be scheduled to arrive in store incrementally over the spring/summer and fall/winter seasons, more closely reflecting how customers in today’s world actually live and shop. “It is imperative that we give the consumer time to absorb the fall deliveries, which will just be arriving in September, and not confuse them with an overabundance of additional ideas, new seasons, products and images,” says Kors.
“Prior to the late 1990s, the New York Spring collections were shown from late October to the beginning of November, after the Paris collections,” adds Kors. “That calendar was in place for many decades and worked quite smoothly, and particularly in this age with the speed of social media, showing the collection closer to when it will be delivered makes logical sense to me.”
“I think it is also important to return to the idea that September and March are key months in launching the beginning of seasonal selling for the consumer,” Kors says. “This is when key editorial and media content hit, when the weather is starting to change, and when people are ready to absorb new collections and product—that they can wear and shop immediately. Keeping all of this in mind, we will also be reassessing when the Fall/Winter collection is released to the press and the public—most likely sometime between mid-March and mid-April.”
Additionally, the company will sell the collection to retailers prior to when they reveal it publicly and to the press, allowing for the supply chains and factories to have the appropriate time to produce and ship new clothing and accessories. The goal is to create a healthier pace, Kors explains, adding, “I feel that these changes are long overdue and will be a huge win-win, most importantly for the consumer.”

Debbie was born and raised in Queens, NY to Jamaican parents. She went to Fordham University before taking the Millinery Program at the Fashion Institute of Technology .
She writes, “I gravitated toward millinery after taking a few classes at FIT and of course my love for hats. My intention was and is truly on learning and creating a timeless product and outcome that brings personal fulfillment to myself and others, My great-grandmother, Frances Grey, was a seamstress in Jamaica and is my brand’s namesake, and, an underlying source of inspiration. “

She continues, “Quality materials and craftsmanship are staples of my designs, however, stepping outside of my comfort zone and exploring new and creative ways to network, cultivate and relay the Frances Grey story to others has been core to my continued development as a brand and person.”
She continues, “Working alongside my daughter has been a major voice when it come to stepping out of my comfort zone with patterns, colors and designs.”
Her first celebrity placement was with none other than Queen Bey! She says,”[I designed] a custom cap worn by Beyonce in her APES**T video. This opportunity was a collaboration with Misa Hylton for MCM and was a wonderful display of women supporting women.”
While Apesh**T brought lots of new eyes, Lorenzo seeks to bring her Frances Grey brand to the world. She says, “My goal for Frances Grey is to evolve into an international accessories/philanthropic brand empowering women.”
For those looking to break into design, Lorenzo offers, “If you’ve been on the fence about pursuing a meaningful business venture, Do it! Do it now! Don’t worry about having it all together. Once you take that first step, things will fall into place…Trust the process! “
She writes, “I’m a originally from a small town in Mississippi called Hollandale, however, I’m currently living in Dallas Texas. I would describe my style as dark glam fashion, It’s a mix of punk, trends, and old Hollywood.”

Love is Blind. And Lauren Speed Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton are proof of that. At a time when we are all yearning for love and light, we could think of no better couple to feature for our first exclusive editorial of 2020.
Lauren and Cameron posed in ornate rooms, which were bathed in sunlight, and decorated with contemporary artwork and luxurious furniture. In their first fashion photo shoot, the couple modeled pieces from Hideoki Bespoke along with couture gowns by Esé Azénabor, frothy robes by Oyemwen, bold separates by Sai Sankoh, and shoes from Shoe Boulevard. Stylist Ms. Amy J placed the couple in the perfect settings, offering, “The location was beautiful, regal, and elegant. From its manicured landscaping to its architectural details and large open balconies for every room, it definitely gave a perfect feel of romance to flow along with the theme of the shoot.”
Dedrick Thomas, the Mississippi born, Atlanta based tailor and owner of Hideoki Bespoke, took control of Cameron’s dapper ensembles, pushing the limits of his style while allowing him to stay true to who he is. Thomas said, “[These looks embody] what fashion and Hideoki is all about: Traditional elegance with modern sophistication. [These are looks he] can wear now, in 10 years, and in 20 years.”
Our Buckhead location was also significant for Thomas, who says, “Atlanta is not really known for fashion, and through the collaboration of Hideoki and Fashion Bomb Daily, we were able to show the world and the country that Atlanta does have a foundation and a case for Elegance in Fashion, just like New York and Paris.”
As for Lauren, the photos went deeper than the surface. She tells Fashion Bomb Daily, “I hope that these photos represent to the world that Love conquers all, regardless of your race, sex, religion or orientation. Until we learn to appreciate & value people for who they are on the inside instead of the outer appearance we will continue to cheat ourselves out of the most beautiful things about human existence. Love knows no boundaries and we are most powerful when we come together in solidarity and unity. I’m so honored that Cam and I represent just that; LOVE and LIGHT based purely on loving each other for who we are as people, our character as human beings and the light of our spirits. Regardless of surface aesthetics… we connected as two people traveling on this journey called life, working to contribute to this world to make it a better place for our (future) children and grandkids. “
Cameron adds, “I hope these photos will symbolize the beauty and strength that comes from bold, tenacious love. I want people to see that while we can confidently stand as individuals, we bring so much more to the table when we stand together... I want people to see that Black Lives Matter, Black Beauty Matters, [and] Black Fashion Matters. I am honored to have the opportunity to model Hideoki Bespoke clothing and I want people to see my pride in wearing it. I want people to feel the love that Lauren and I have for each other; I wish to instill a sense of urgency in valuing Black Lives and a sense of hope that the type of love we share is possible. I believe that love conquers all and I want others to believe that too.”
In conclusion, shoot stylist Ms. Amy J offers, “It was beautiful to witness a love without fear. Love that wasn’t planned but was destined. A Love that didn’t care what people thought. Cameron told me during the shoot that talking with Lauren, he just knew she was the one. There is nothing more powerful than a Man who knows what he wants and a Women who’s bold enough to accept it and give Love another try. You could feel their energy on set. You would’ve thought they’ve been married to each other for years.”
