Self-Maintenance Jobs You Can Do at Home

With the rules of what we can and cannot do constantly changing, it isn’t a bad idea for you to learn some beauty treatments you can do from home. That way you don’t have to bat an eyelid if your usual salons are shut – you can do it yourself until they open up again. What are some simple self-maintenance jobs you can try at home?

Manicure

Getting your nails done can make a world of difference to your confidence. Maybe you’re already a dab hand at giving yourself a manicure, or perhaps your painting technique still needs some work. Either way, learning to do your own nails can be a fun way to spend some at home. You can get creative and use different nail art kits. If you need a reminder of how to give yourself a manicure, look no further than right here.

Hair Styles

You’re probably aware of the failed lockdown haircuts. Cutting your own hair can be an incredibly daunting task. Maybe you feel up to the challenge and are happy to give it a go. Or perhaps you’d rather leave your hair in the hands of a professional. How about trying a happy in-between? You could experiment with new styles you’ve never tried before, or learn some ways of braiding your locks. If you’re feeling bold, you could dye your hair a different colour.

Face Massage

This is a particularly easy treatment you can perform on yourself. You can apply a hydrating serum and then massage around your eyes in circular motions. You should also apply pressure to your brow area, jawline, and cheekbones. Giving yourself a facial massage is such a simple way to make yourself feel better. You can use the time to unwind from the day, plus your skin will thank you too.

Beauty Masks

Whether you want to make a mask for your hair or your face, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how many beauty products are hiding in your fridge. You can create masks for practically all of your pampering needs. From helping your hair get back its shine to exfoliating your skin. Beauty masks give you a chance to get creative and you can have fun trying out your own recipes as well.

During these difficult times, it’s so important for you to look after yourself. You’ll be amazed at how much better you’ll feel after a pamper session. What’s a beauty treatment you’d like to try?

Countries that slots casinos operate freely

You might think that, in the 21st century, every country in the world would be fine with gambling and casinos. Yet this is actually far from the truth, and there are plenty of countries where this is not the case; in some countries, you cannot gamble online or in person or you will be falling foul of the law. Yet in others, it is perfectly allowable. Here are some of the countries that operate freely, and some of the ones that restrict gambling. You might find them interesting to play online slots today.

Restrictions

·         USA

Are you surprised? Whereas many would equate America with being the land of the free, when it comes to online gambling, it’s actually much more confusing. Although technically Americans can enjoy online casinos, when they want to withdraw money (or deposit it) it can be really difficult for them to do so.

·         Netherlands

Even though the Netherlands is in the EU which has a lot of freedom when it comes to online gambling, the Netherlands really doesn’t want it to be part of its culture, so it has banned online casinos entirely.

·         Cambodia

If you are visiting Cambodia, you can gamble online. However, if you’re a Cambodian resident, you can’t. This might seem unfair, especially when you consider there are some lavish casinos in Cambodia, and many of the country’s residents do actually gamble anyway, despite the ban, but it’s a dangerous game to play when you consider the punishment is imprisonment.

·         China

Hong Kong and Macau have separate laws, so you can gamble there, but mainland China is very much against gambling and whether you are playing or offering games to be played, it is against the law.

Freedoms

·         Finland

Finland is more than happy for its residents and its visitors to gamble in any way they want to, although there are some restrictions. The main one is that the casinos need to be Finnish, and state-approved. So it’s a freedom, but it’s restricted too.

·         Australia

A huge proportion of the world’s gamblers come from Australia, and although technically the law states they shouldn’t be accessing foreign casinos, they can do so with ease, and they won’t be punished for it.

·         Denmark

Once upon a time, Denmark only allowed one company – Danske Spil – to distribute casino games, but this is different now, and other games are allowed, from other providers. There are still restriction when it comes to getting licences though, but if you can pass all the criteria, you’re in.

·         UK

The UK is famous around the world for its gambling laws, including the fact that it has its very own gambling commission. There are rules to comply with, of course, but generally the restrictions are very limited.

·         Malta

Ever since online gambling first came into being in the 1990s, Malta has been at the forefront of freedom. This is where many of the igaming laws are created, and those laws are respected across the world.

Style Spotlight: TV Sista Friend Style from Girlfriends, Living Single, and Sistas + Tune in to Sistas on BET Tonight!

In honor of the hit tv series Tyler Perry’s Sistas and its epic return to television tonight, we are shining a spotlight on other popular Black female-focused sitcoms where comedy and the power of sisterhood were main components of each show. “Sista” shows including Girlfriends, Living Single, and Sistas not only gave us laughs and relatable life situations, but they gave us bomb style moments as well!

Let’s dive into the style profiles of the iconic characters from Girlfriends, Living Single and Sistas:

Living Single (1993)

We all know Khadijah James loved a good collegiate HBCU sweatshirts and sportswear.

Regine Hunter was the original sitcom fashion queen, giving us endless classic looks with her various scarves and wigs!

Receptionist-turned-actress Synclaire James-Jones kept it simple yet stylish! She loved a good vest to complete her looks.

One thing Maxine “Max” Felice Shaw was going to always do: rock a bomb suit! When she wasn’t working, she kept it comfy with loose garments and sexy with body-hugging evening dresses.

Girlfriends (2000)

Joan Clayton mixed sophisticated suits with designer bags for day, and slips on slinky dresses for night.

Maya Wilkes’s sassy personality mimicked her style as she often dabbled in flirty tops and trendy 2000s styles (styles that have made full circle comebacks this year).

Lynn Searcy could be considered a 2000s Bohemian “it” girl rocking long skirts and flowy garments that imitated her artsy and spiritual lifestyle.

Antoinette “Toni” Marie Childs’ style was everything. She was giving us major designer moments before Sex and the City, rocking major names like Jean Paul-Gaultier. Does she remind you any current series characters? Molly from Insecure, perhaps?

Tyler Perry’s Sistas (2019)

As a successful and hardworking lawyer, Andrea “Andi” Barnes’s style on the show falls very much in line with her career. She keeps her looks sophisticated and classy with tailored pants or skirt suits.

Karen Mott is very-on trend and quite vibrant at times. She lives for bold prints like animal prints and florals.

Wild child Daniella “Danni” King’s style very much reflects her personality. As a flight attendant, she’s confined to her white shirt and pencil skirt uniform. During outings with the girls, she rocks bodycon dresses and deep v-neck blouses.

Sabrina Hollins’s style is very much conservative yet chic, opting for neutral and earthy tones. Floral prints are her go-to when she wants something that “pops”.

You can catch these popular Black sitcoms on streaming services! Also, tune into the first episode of Sista’s second season premiering tonight at 9pm on BET!
