Conservative Shirts: Mixing Fashion and Politics

Every time a political issue comes up or gains attention in America, you see people exercising their rights and voice out their opinions in peaceful (and some not-so-peaceful) protests. You see people take to the streets and show their patriotism by wearing their political affiliation: Republican and Democrats. You see people walking around wearing American flag clothing, democrat shirts or perhaps even conservative shirts. But why are Americans obsessed with these political clothing and why are they popular?

Political shirts are easily available anywhere in America. These political shirts (democrat or conservative shirts) come in different styles and designs and often have thought-provoking quotations on them.

American’s fascination with expressing their freedom of expression is most pronounced during important holidays such as Memorial Day, and the Fourth of July, or even the weeks leading to national elections. But if you pay attention, you can observe people wearing these shirts all year round. These shirts may seem simple, and made of ordinary material, but they manage to both inspire and divide people. This leads you to wonder whether wearing democratic or conservative shirts can create social change.

Freedom of Expression

Clothing has always served as a person’s way to express themselves. You can tell a lot about a person with their taste in fashion, so it is not surprising that people use clothing to express their political beliefs and opinions as well. The recent wave of activist-inspired clothing not only shows the solidarity against the current political setting, but it is also a way for people with the same political beliefs to bond with each other. Whether it be shirts, tunics, or jackets, political clothing have messages that stand out as a visual marker for what the person wearing them believes in. This has the potential to be a powerful catalyst for change.

Political clothing isn’t limited to the runways alone—it can be found on a more common or grassroots level too. Many DIY artists and creative experts have also been creating and coming up with culturally appropriate and virally strong clothing, promoting their merchandise on online platforms such as Etsy, as a way to take a stand against issues such as prejudice, racism, fake news, and social injustice. Unlike large-scale fashion brands, which takes weeks to months to develop these apparel, independent designers can just easily release these clothing within a couple of days.

Catalyst for Change

Political clothing, such as democrat and conservative shirts, can serve as important conversation starters. You’re able to encourage and empower people to stand up for and speak up on issues that matter to them. Political slogans have been around for as long as anyone can remember, but they are more visible now that more and more people are starting to exercise their freedom of expression. The words and letters in our garments have power—they had power in the 18th century, and they have power even today. If you look into the French Revolution, colors were showed to express one’s support for various political factions. In the early 20th century, wearing white symbolized support for women’s suffrage, and today wearing pink has come to symbolize support for women’s rights.

It was not until the 1960s and 1970s that fashion apparel actually began to get political. This was during that time that silkscreen printing became popular. This technique made it easier for anyone to print customized shirts with text expressing their opinions during the Vietnam War protests. Nowadays, people use these shirts as a way to vent out their frustrations. Political clothing gives people a way to express their opinion and make their views known. It’s a way to add cohesion to different political groups and to show support for those who feel the same way as them.

Wearing political clothing like conservative shirts can be considered as a sartorial form of coming together. When you wear a shirt showing your political affiliations, you’re not only making your beliefs known, but you also identify yourself with a larger group of individuals who feel the same way as you do. It’s a great way to show someone that you’re on the same team.

Fashion and Politics: A Great Match

People wouldn’t normally associate fashion with political movements, but these two have long been intertwined as far as we are concerned. Fashion has always been a way for both men and women to express their social and political views. Modern political fashion trends may not be the same as those of centuries ago, but fashion continues to be one of the most effective and accessible way of expressing your beliefs and standing up for them.

When you look at any society around the world, you’ll discover that there are instances where politics have influenced its fashion. For example, in the 18th century, some Englishmen wore short, colorful suits with eccentric styles to oppose the more traditional Whigs. Even the type of fabric worn can be used to indicate the politics of international trade at certain points in history.

As technology has made it easier to disseminate new information, a new political climate has emerged—one that’s both confusing and divisive. People from all walks of life are free to broadcast their political opinions on social platforms that reach hundreds, to thousands, to millions of people. But social media activism has not replaced fashion’s role in politics. As a matter of fact, some trends in political fashion have garnered even more exposure on social media, allowing them to extend their reach to more people.

Expressing your views can be as simple as putting the right words, images or hashtags printed on a shirt or apparel. Political fashion, such as democrat and conservative shirts, do not have to be subtle—they can be bold, loud, fearless, and clear!

Besides t-shirts, bags and hats can also be used to express one’s political sentiment. Take Trump’s MAGA (Make America Great Again) cap, for example. Items like this allow one proudly and confidently express their belief system in a blunt and unapologetic manner.

Regardless of your political affiliation or belief, you have the right to use your clothes to express them. Fashion is more than just about matching colors and styles—it is a way to express who you are inside and sharing them to the world.

Dressing Up During Down Times

With parts of the country shutting down again and winter well on its way, consumers are looking for fun and fantastical ways to spend time at home by getting dressed up for the bedroom. Since the beginning of the pandemic, lingerie manufacturers and retailers have seen sales more than double. For some, it’s couples trying to add some spice into their relationship after spending 24/7 together working from home in the same raggedy sweatpants and Cheetoh-stained t-shirt they’ve been in since March. And for those that have to social distance, couples are using sexy lingerie to spice up their intimate Facetime calls.

What about singles? Many are simply updating their loungewear collection and some are even treating themselves to a special lingerie item. What better way to add to your self-care routine than by actually dressing (or undressing) for yourself?

The best lingerie looks we’re seeing right now are babydolls, sexy bra sets, and silky robes, items that are definitely not a part of everyday wear and feel special without being overly fussy. Some of our favorite pieces come from online lingerie retailer 3Wishes.com whose collection of sexy lingerie is both tasteful and affordable. At 3Wishes, you’ll find simple, timeless pieces like this Black Chemise with Lace Trim ($29.95) to this Jingle All Way Babydoll ($32.95), perfect for some holiday fun. For a real Hollywood Glam experience, try the Red Eyelash Lace Robe ($48.95).

There’s also plenty of bra and-panty sets if you’re just looking for an upgrade to your basic cotton sets. For those looking to be a bit more adventurous and risqué, 3Wishes also has a collection of bedroom costumes. What’s more, many of the brand’s offerings are also available in plus size lingerie styles, which we love!

3Wishes offers discreet and free shipping for orders over $50. And if things are feeling a bit urgent, they also have express shipping for an added fee. While things are down, sexy lingerie is an easy and fun way to add some fantasy and glamour back into our lives. These make a great treat for yourself or that special someone.

  1. Insurance

Purchasing any Jewelry, including rings, is not only an emotional investment but also a financial investment. It’d be best to get an insurance cover for all your Jewelry that you intend to buy or already have. It’ll enable you to get proper compensation should the ring get damaged, stolen, or even lost. While consulting with the jeweler, you need to inquire if they can connect you with a reputable insurance agency.

The last thing you’d want is a surprise going wrong when presenting your engagement ring. It’d be best to be wise in asking about your partner’s size and preference style without raising suspicion or causing curiosity. 1. Seek advice

When you become stuck between two rings, don’t let any frustration take the better part of you. It’s a chance to speak to a jeweler as they are best conversant with the pieces. It’s a chance to get in-depth and unbiased information about the Jewelry you’re about to purchase. You can alternatively log online and check what other sellers say. Four Important Dating Tips for Women Looking for Love

One size definitely doesn’t fit all when it comes to dating tips for women. Individual women have different preferences and needs when it comes to dating, and women often date differently at different ages and various stages of their life. Where a woman looks for a date can be a big indicator of success, whether it’s a local bar or an online video chat site like Flingster. While most women will typically want the same outcome from dating, as you get more life experience, you know things about dating that you didn’t in your younger years. Whether you’re looking to find a serious partner or simply want a better dating experience with senior singles, here are some tips to keep in mind.

Know Your Deal-Breakers:

Consider what you definitely don’t want from a date and stick to it. No matter how well you get on with somebody, if their views or even their hobbies are not something that you’d stand for, then you know not to waste your time any further. They may end up becoming a good friend, but deal-breakers usually mean just that – they’re not going to be the best choice for a romantic relationship with you. These don’t necessarily have to be bad things, but it’s just as important to know what you don’t want as it is to know what you do.

Be Open-Minded:

You simply never know who your ideal person could be. Perhaps you have a list of physical preferences that you’re looking for when browsing singles in Adelaide, AU, or maybe you want to date a guy who has children. The truth is that sometimes, the person who’s right for you doesn’t tick all the boxes when you meet them, and you discover that actually, that’s OK. While it’s good to have an idea of what you want, don’t narrow your options down too far.

Go With the Flow:

There is plenty of online dating advice out there that doesn’t really work if you’re looking for a mature and genuine relationship with somebody. Rules like ‘wait three days to text or call back’ aren’t really a good idea. Treating dating like playing a game means that somebody’s always going to end up losing, and dating should really be a win-win situation. Call and text back when you want to; it’s good to be authentic when dating.

Listen to Your Gut:

Whether you’re meeting singles in person or using an online dating service, the key to success is to always trust your gut. If you’re getting weird vibes from somebody, then chances are that it’s for a good reason. Often, in the early stages of dating, it can be easy to ignore some little red flags, but these are the things that often become bigger red flags further on down the line. If you’ve got a feeling that something isn’t quite right or you’ve noticed behavior from your date that you’re a little concerned about, listen to what your gut is telling you.

While every woman is different when it comes to dating and everybody has different needs and preferences, keeping these tips in mind when meeting new dates will help improve your chance of finding a fulfilling partnership.

Fashion News: Carly Cushnie Is Shutting Down the Cushnie Label

It with great sadness that we share the news of the women’s brand Cushnie and its closing. Earlier today, Carly Cushnie of the Cushnie brand announced that it will be closing it doors for good. The brand’s demise stems from COVID-19 complications and the discriminatory stigma of the fashion industry.

The news was brought to fans through an Instagram post on the Cushnie page. Carly Cushnie expressed, “While this past year has been challenging, it has allowed me the time to reflect, reset and realign my goals and my passion for design has never been stronger. I recognize the power of my presence and will continue to fight for the causes and values I believe in, and will always continue to create.

Like many other brands and retailers, the designer and founder accounted the brand’s closing to the ongoing pandemic stating, “the effects of COVID-19 have hurt my business beyond repair.”

She also described that she was also placed at a disadvantage as a Black woman as she witnessed male counterparts in the fashion industry get awarded with more favorable circumstances: “While there are many achievements I am so proud of, it would be neglectful not to acknowledge having to fight much harder than my male peers to be afforded the same opportunities.

Additionally, Carly Cushnie also recalls major moments with the brand such as appearing on Beyoncé and Michelle Obama and becoming the first Black female designer to launch a collaboration with Target.

Carly Cushnie closes with many thanks to everyone who has supported her along with plans to “embark on what’s to come” in creating and designing.

We’re going to miss Cushnie!
