The Faby’s Best of 2020: Best Fashion Collaboration Including Amina Muaddi x Fenty, Ivy Park x Adidas, MCM x Misa Hylton and More!

As the saying goes, two heads are better than one and that could not be more true in the case of these bomb Fashion collaborations. 2020 gave us lots of collabs to choose from but we have narrowed down the best of the best:

Amina Muaddi x Fenty

Amina Muaddi is a known go-to for Rihanna – so it was no surprised when they announced their collaboration earlier this year. The social media buzz around the drop was high. Amina Muaddi’s designs have be gaining popularity and Fenty was going from strength to strength.

It was so popular in fact, there were 2 releases in 2020. The first release dubbed 7-20 (after the month and year of the drop) came in the summer time so we saw vivid brights, caged sandals, braided laces with diamante’s and mesh square toed mules.

The second release (named 11-20) had a similar aesthetic with the most popular Caged In sandals getting a few new colorways. But the collection also introduced new materials namely satin and PVC into the mix.

Jimmy Choo x Timberland

This drop came as a bit of a surprise. Our first preview of the collab came from Instagram. A video of a jewel covered Timberland boot started making the rounds and even got featured in our #BombAccessories with much delight to you Bombshells and Bombers as well as being later spotted on the feet of Jennifer Lopez.

This limited edition, 4 piece collection bases the iconic Timberland boot and perfectly mixes both of the brands’ core DNA: the luxurious elegance of Jimmy Choo with the rugged streetwear essence of Timberland.

With 1 all black boot, 2 classic styles with a JC twist and 1 entirely covered in Swarovski crystals, the collection is inclusive of both bold and subtle styles.

Ivy Park x Adidas

This collab needs no introduction. You must of been living under a rock if you didn’t see various celebrities and influencers on social media excitedly open the most wanted, magic boxes filled with goodies from the Queen Bey herself.

Another one of our shortlisted collab’s that saw 2 releases in 2020, with the first Ivy Park collection featuring a color clashing burgundy and orange combination while the second collection saw 6 colors used, with matching pieces designed for a mix’n’match choice of your fav monochromatic look.

Sticking with the atheleisure trend, Beyonce designed both apparel and footwear. This included mesh jackets, leggings, t-shirts, sneakers and dresses.

Fear of God x Zegna

‘Modern Luxury’ is at the heart of this collaboration. Zegna Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori and Fear of God Founder Jerry Lorenzo joined forces to create a menswear collection, with women in mind.

The collection features a muted color palette, with Zegna’s renowned tailoring skills blended with Fear of God’s American luxury style. On paper the two brands are worlds apart – one favouring classic, impeccably made suits, while the other a cool modern streetwear brand loved by Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

With a star-studded launch and the ability to be worn by both men and women, this collection has redefined what modern luxury means.

Dior x Nike

The Dior x Nike collaboration centres around the classic Air Jordan 1 with a Dior Oblique motif tick with both a low-top ($2,000) and high-top ($2,200) version. Famously worn by Kylie Jenner with her baby daddy Travis Scott modelling in the official campaign pics.

Designed for the Fall 2020 collection, the collab included jackets, shorts, t-shirts and sweatshirts with Air Jordan logos renamed as ‘Air Dior’. Using a mix of greys, whites and black, the capsule collection’s aesthetic is streetwear and basketball-esque.

Reebok x Pyer Moss

After 3 years of collaborations, we couldn’t miss Reebok by Pyer Moss. The first collection launched in 2017 begun with a sneaker design named DMX fusion, followed by a second release in 2018, a third drop in 2019 and now, Experiment 4 launched a few months ago.

The various collections are renamed as Experiments and usually centred around sneakers. However due to sheer popularity, Reebok asked Kerby Jean-Raymond, Founder and Creative Director of Pyer Moss, to design some additional apparel pieces to add to the collection.

In 2020, Kerby was officially appointed Vice President, Creative Direction at Reekbok and announced the news on Instagram.

Disney x Gucci

In honour of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, Disney and Gucci teamed up to bring us this fun collection marking the Year of the Mouse.

Released in January 2020, the 80 piece collection feature images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse (AKA Mom and Dad of Disney) on everything from t-shirts and hoodies to leather goods and footwear. We see Gucci prints, colorful floral prints, large Gucci logo’s all bearing the image of Mickey Mouse.

All in all, the collection was whimsical and bold with an air of nostalgia – bringing us back to our childhoods and our Disney memories.

MCM x Misa Hylton

Following her Netflix special ‘The Remix – Hip Hop x Fashion’, MCM teamed up with stylist extraordinaire, Misa Hylton to specially curated a hand-picked selection of the best that MCM has to offer. Available to shop at The Remix Shop.

Celebrating the longtime creative relationship between the two, the collection features leather good, footwear and apparel all with the classic MCM print or logo with pops of orange, purples and baby pink. The

The collab has that undeniable cool hip hop vibe that Misa is known for, after all who could forget THAT Beyonce MCM corset look in her and Jay-Z‘s legendary APESH*T video that sparked off the much loved monogrammed logo trend that was styled by Misa herself.

You Ask, We Answer! Mulatto Poses in an Off White Sweater Dress by Telfar

One of our Fashion Bomb readers writes, “Where can I find this dress?”. Another reader adds, “Heyy heyy! I love this dress Mulatto is wearing. Can you find out where she got it from?”

Ms. Mulatto posed at the Trap Music Museum in Atlanta rocking a $399 off white sweater dress by Telfar. The wool and cashmere blend provides comfortability while still allowing for a fitting silhouette.

The dress has a slit that extends up past the waist line, an asymmetrical neck line and a cut out detailing on the shoulder. It was worn with a pair of thigh high turquoise boots from Ego. Her wavy red hair gives the dress another perspective as she serves a look fit for a modern day Jessica Rabbit. She was styled by Todd White.

Cassie Announces Second Pregnancy with a Radiant Photoshoot

A glowing Cassie took to Instagram to announce and celebrate her latest pregnancy of which she and her husband Alex Fine are expecting their second child. Draped in lush fabrics, Cassie opted for a glamour shot. The earth tones of the fabrics and golden glow of her skin provides a natural regal look.

The eye catcher here, besides her new bundle of joy, is Cassie’s hair! Her hair was pulled back into a sleek ponytail but the devil is in the details. Small strands of hair were taken to create an intricate pattern that extended down one side of her face to her chin. Executed by Ruslan Nureev, baby hair has been taken to a new level. Her makeup done by Rokael Lizama.

As if an 18 foot Christmas tree isn’t dramatic enough, Missy Misdemeanor Elliot had hers put in a crystal cage!

She took to Instagram to express how she found her holiday spirit this year wearing a $2,995 leopard print Versace Men’s Puffer Jacket and a $300 wool Gucci beanie (sold out).

The tree was designed by Chavien Shy and Durkio Wilson.

Both Ashanti and Keyshia Cole hopped on Instagram Live later Sunday evening where Ashanti revealed her positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Ashanti wore a Chanel cashmere logo cardigan paired with Sister Love “Frosted Bam Beautie” hoops (shop the silver pair here).

While both ladies looked bomb, we can’t wait to see what they wear for the rescheduled battle on January 9th! We are wishing for a speedy recovery for Ashanti during her time of sickness.

A Fashion Bomb reader asked, “I love this set that they are wearing. Can you find out where I can find them?” Monica and her beautiful daughter Laiyah looked cute, cozy and comfy as they posed in matching Cozy Knit Sets by Skims. Monica wore a $128 knit robe, a $48 bralette and $88 knit pants in the color grey. Her daughter wore Skims $98 robe, $38 tank and $58 pants.

Of course you can get the look for less but it may not be as luxurious as these items. The boucle yarn used to make these garments is quite expensive, hence the price tag.

Daniel Lee

As the current Creative Director for Bottega Veneta, it is no wonder British born designer Daniel Lee made it to the list! Seen on the feet of celebrities and fashionista’s alike, Bottega Veneta heels have been top of our wish list for multiple seasons now. And if you ask us, he is one of the reasons how the mules made such an earth-shattering comeback.

With an iconic square toe aesthetic, Daniel’s most popular designs include a quilted, woven or netted look with prices starting at $790 ranging to well-over $1,000!

With an undeniable cult following, including plenty of celebrity fans such as Rihanna, one of they key design aspects of Amina’s look is a pyramid shaped heel. She uses different materials such as satin and leather mixed with animal prints, crystals and even feathers in her pieces.

Whether it’s boots, pumps, sling-backs or mules, Amina Muaddi has a shoe for you.

Katie Biltoft

Katie Biltoft is all about luxury. Her sharp, sleek designs are the epitome of sex appeal with touches of 9ct gold to add an extra elegance factor. Using ultra-thin straps along with a needle-sharp heel, Katie’s pieces oozes glam. Her most popular designs include ankle-wrap-around straps in luxurious jewel tones, metallics and denim.

Aminah Abdul Jillil

It’s that time of year again, Bombers and Bombshells! It is time to highlight the best of the best in fashion, beauty, and hair for our second annual FABYs.

We’re kicking off our Best of 2020 awards with our first category: Hairstylist of the Year, Sponsored by Shea Moisture! We’ve rounded up ten nominees who have kept your faves’ tresses in top notch through captivating colors and overall unforgettable styles.

In no particular order, let’s get into the nominees curated by our Fashion Bomb team, and cast your vote below:

  1. Tokyo Stylez

It is no secret that Tokyo Stylez is the creator behind some of Cardi B’s most iconic hairstyles from unconventional styles like the monogram Louis Vuitton look to classic ones like bone straight inches. Tokyo has also worked with many other celebrities including the Kardashians, Kylie Jenner, Tamar Braxton, and Nicki Minaj to name a few.

No matter how outlandish the style may be, Tokyo Stylez can execute it.

2. Arrogant Tae

“She’s telling me Tae is the best” is lyric spoken by rapper Lil Durk in his latest song “Laugh Now, Cry Later” with Drake, ultimately calling 2019 FABYs Hairstylist of the Year Arrogant Tae the best hairstylist in Atlanta. He continues to live up to the lyrics and last year’s award by working closely with industry “it girls” like Ari Fletcher, Jayda Cheaves, Dream Doll, and Bernice Burgos.

Arrogant Tae loves to experiment with vibrant hues and frequently taps into chic styles including sleek ponytails and bouncy, curly bobs. He makes sure each of his clients leave scalped and slayed.

3. Jonathan Wright

Jonathan Wright is another celebrity hair guru who can’t get enough of color! Having worked with celebrities like Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ashanti, he always equips his clients with the most eccentrically-colored tresses.

4. Chris Appleton

Chris Appleton’s work rarely goes unseen as he serves as the right hand hairstylist to celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez. He serves up classic glam with styles like beachy waves and straight hair.

He also dabbles in trendy color options like blonde highlights and sometimes popping colors like a powder blue depending on the personality of the wearer.

5. Kellon Deryck

Kellon Deryck has been keeping it hot with the hot girl herself, Megan Thee Stallion. He is the hair engineer behind many of her magazine covers, her “Body” video, and the iconic 90’s inspired “WAP” hairstyle. 6. Neal Farinah

Serving as Beyoncé’s go-to hairstylist, Neal Farinah is always booked and busy with the Queen Bey. He serves as the mastermind behind many of Beyoncé’s hairstyles from her film, Black Is King, in addition to her regular looks she graces us with on Instagram from time to time.

Neal Farinah’s hair work has also been spotted on Kelly Rowland, Tina Knowles, Michelle Williams, and Mary J. Blige.

7. Larry Sims

If you’ve spotted any iconic covers with Regina King, Zendaya, or Gabrielle Union, Larry Sims was most likely the architect behind the hair.

From intricate braids to definitive Black hairstyles like curly fros, Larry Sims is always capturing the free yet leading personality of the wearer and Black hair itself.

8. Theo Barrett

Theo Barrett always makes sure his patrons have melted lace and overall slayed tresses no matter the style. His growing list of celebrity clients include Angela Simmons, Wendy Williams, Nene Leakes, and even our very own EIC Claire Sulmers.

Whether it is a classic, full lace, or leave-out install, Theo Barrett always leaves his bombshells glammed up and glowing.

9. Ursula Stephen

#UrsieOnHair is a hashtag created by hairstylist Ursula Stephen that highlights her captivating work on celebrities including Laverne Cox, Rihanna, Zendaya, and Tiffany Haddish.

While she can lay a good wig, she also a pro when it comes to natural, protective hairstyles. She always leaves her clients snatched!

10. Sean Christopher Fears

Sean Christopher Fears’s hair-expertise spans across color, style, wig installation and more as he often executes both classic and on-trend looks with his clientele!

His work has been seen on Keke Palmer, Duckie Thot, Justine Skye and more.
