Reasons to Buy H Diamond Rings: Get Expert Tips

The color of your diamond can have a considerable impact on its price. If you are on a budget but still want a diamond that will dazzle your partner, then an H color diamond is the perfect choice. Placed midway on the color grade scale, an H diamond is nearly colorless, bearing a close resemblance to a premium D or E color. Iit is essential to have an in-depth understanding of H color diamonds.

What is an H color diamond?

The GIA rates the color of a diamond from D to Z, D being the highest grade and colorless while Z being the lowest and consisting of diamonds having a yellow tinge. The H diamond is a nearly colorless diamond and will appear so even in the case of bigger sizes. The only minute amount of color is noticeable on the body of the diamond at certain angles. Imperfections are very minutely visible only to the trained eye, in the case of bigger stones.

An H color diamond falls under the category of  ‘nearly colorless’ on the color grade right after the D, E, F category which comprises premium colorless diamonds. A G diamond also falls under the ‘nearly colorless’ category however is slightly more expensive than the H. The H diamond does possess a yellow tinge which in large quantities renders the diamond invaluable.

However, this yellow tint is hardly noticeable to the naked eye, especially in a well-cut diamond. Even under magnification in a well-lit room, the yellow tint of this category of diamonds is unnoticeable, making it difficult to differentiate between diamonds of the colorless grade.

How To Choose an H Color Diamond?

You cannot go wrong with diamonds of this color category,  they hide inclusions and very closely  resemble premium quality D color diamonds. They are also affordable, making them almost a dream pick for anyone who is looking to get a quality diamond at a reasonable price. However, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

Cut Quality

H diamonds have a faint yellowish tint to them, which can be minimalized if not completely removed with good cut quality. Cut quality is integral to the value of a diamond. A well-cut diamond hides inclusions and flaws. The cut quality of a diamond also influences its fire and brilliance. The amount of light transmission in a diamond is directly affected by the cut quality of a diamond. In certain diamonds like the princess cut, if the cut quality is excellent then an eye-cleaned diamond is what is generally recommended by experts. Good cut quality on an H color diamond will ensure lesser inclusions and also, make the diamond seem more like a premium D color diamond.

Kinds of Cuts

Pearl, Round, Oval, and Pear cut diamonds are favorable for the H color grade. Any uniquely cut diamond which is good at hiding inclusions will work with an H color diamond. A princess-cut is not highly recommended as the square body can expose the yellow tint. If one is adamant about getting an H-grade diamond in a princess cut, then the clarity of the diamond will play an important role. A clarity grade of SI2 works best in this case and is also the favorable clarity grade for oval and pear cut diamonds. Using a rose gold or yellow setting helps reduce inclusions further.

Diamond Imaging

Diamond Imaging technology accurately presents an advanced image of the stone from every angle and axis. This technology encompasses all aspects of a diamond’s true character and quality, including appearance, cut, light transmission, quality, inclusions, and more. Using diamond imaging, vendors are able to compare H grade diamonds of varying carat weights, to be able to denote the best possible value. In certain cases, experts might use high energy irradiation or annealing to improve the color grading of the stone.

How to evaluate the cost?

The cut and clarity play a very important role in determining the value of an H diamond. If we are to consider two situations as an example, a 1 carat VS2 clarity D color princess cut diamond will cost between $4000 to $6000, however, a 1 carat SI2 clarity H grade princess cut diamond will cost between $2000 to $4000. This massive difference in price is only on account of the clarity and cut quality. However, the color grade also has a role to play in the price.

Choosing the Right Cut for H Color Diamonds

Almost all diamonds have a bit of color in them. Even clear diamonds have a hint of yellow color in them due to the presence of nitrogen impurities. G and H color diamonds are favorable choices due to their cut versatility, quality, and transparency. Here is an in-depth guide to choosing the right cut for your H grade stone.

Princess-Cut

Princess diamonds need to have an excellent cut quality in order to be compatible with an H color grade. In the case of diamonds weighing less than a carat,  a VVS or VS clarity is suited, however for stones over a carat, the clarity grade has to be VVS2. A budget between $2000 to $4000 is expected for a 1.5 carat stone with SI2 clarity and very good cut quality. However, a 1.5 carat diamond with VVS2 clarity will spike up your budget to $5000 to $6000.

Oval-Cut

The oval cut is a fancy shape and is perfectly suited for an H color grade. They have perfect symmetry and brilliance and the slender oval-shaped body has an elongated look making it a perfect fit for H color diamonds. Focusing on a clarity grade of SI1 or SI2 is optimal when going for an H diamond. A higher clarity grade can also be opted for as Oval Cut diamonds hide inclusions really well.  White gold or platinum setting is best suited for an oval cut. A 1 carat G grade SI1 diamond would cost you between $3500 to $4000, whereas if you choose an H color diamond, a higher clarity grade can be chosen for the same price.

Pear-Cut

The pear cut diamond is uniquely cut, however, it is not very proficient at hiding inclusions. Pairing the cut with an H-grade diamond helps hide major inclusions. A 1-carat pear cut diamond with an H color grade and SI2 clarity should cost you between $3500 to $4000.

Round Cut

H color diamonds pair well with a round cut. Round cut diamonds have excellent fire and brilliance and are capable of hiding inclusions very well. However, the only drawback is that round cut diamonds are expensive and using an H grade stone would help that but it would still not be a favorable choice for anyone on a budget.

When do H color diamonds look yellow?

H color diamonds look yellow only when they are cut poorly. A good cut quality as mentioned earlier will mask the yellow tint of an H diamond. However, if you are stuck with a yellow H diamond, placing the stone in a yellow setting might just be a saving grace. A princess-cut might also help mask the color, although round cuts are premium. In case you are looking for a higher clarity grade on your diamond while sticking to an H color grade. It is recommended to avoid fancier cuts like the pearl and the oval. The worst cut to go for is the Cushion Cut. The faceting style of the cushion cut amplifies the yellow tint and leaves you with the worst possible result. Make sure you avoid it at all costs.

What setting suits an H-grade diamond?

An H-grade diamond with a good cut and clarity can be the best purchase. However, what you set your stone in is equally important. An optimal setting will help mask the yellow tint that your H diamond might have. White gold or platinum setting is always favorable whereas a rose gold or yellow setting is perfect for marquise and emerald cuts. Having a halo or pave setting with the same color grading can help mask the yellow tint. H-grade diamonds look best when they are set in a simple prong setting that focuses on a solitaire. Both the cut and the setting of an H-grade diamond ensure the best possible outcome.

G vs H Color Diamonds

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) clubs H and G color diamonds in the same category of  Near Colorless. Both of these color grades are extremely close to each other and are hardly distinguishable. Both of these color categories feature diamonds that have a slight yellow tint about them, which can be masked using several different methods as discussed above. While choosing between an H and G color grade, it is recommended to go for an H color diamond in case you are on a budget. The difference between these two categories cannot be discerned by a layman, however, an H grade diamond will definitely be slightly cheaper than a G color diamond.

Why You Should Avoid Accusing Your Partner of Cheating without Evidence

There are many people who suspect their partner might be cheating for one reason or another. Some people become suspicious because they have noticed little changes in the behavior and actions of their partner. Others simply have a gut feeling that something is going on. There are those who bide their time to try and find out whether or not their suspicions are founded, and there are also those who throw accusations at their partner despite having no real evidence that they are cheating.

One thing you should avoid doing if you suspect your partner of being unfaithful is to accuse them without evidence. This is something that can prove detrimental in many ways, particularly if your suspicions are based on gut instincts alone. Instead, you should take the time to look for some of the common signs such as those outlined in our infographic. In this article, we will look at some of the reasons why you should avoid throwing accusations without any evidence.

Some of the Reasons to Avoid This

There are a few vital reasons why you should never accuse your partner of cheating just based on a whim or gut instinct. Some of these are:

Eliminating Trust

One thing you have to keep in mind if you do not have evidence of cheating is that you could be wrong. No matter how strong your gut feeling, there is a chance that you are simply being paranoid and that your partner is not cheating at all. If you go throwing accusations and it turns out that your partner is innocent, it could eliminate all trust in your relationship. It could also create a very difficult environment if you live together and could even spell the end of your relationship. So, this is one of the reasons you need to avoid doing this.

Give Them the Chance to Change

Another of the reasons you should avoid accusing your partner without any evidence is that it gives them the chance to change their behavior to reduce suspicion. Obviously, as you have no evidence, you cannot prove that they have been cheating. However, accusing them means that they will know you are onto them if they are being unfaithful. This then gives them the chance to be far more careful and guarded, which means you might never find out one way or the other whether something is going on.

Facing Denials

Of course, you also have to keep in mind that if you simply accuse your partner without any evidence, you will most likely be met with a barrage of denials. Since you do not have any evidence to the contrary, there is very little you can do other than accept the denials, which means that you are no better off than before you accused them. In fact, you are worse off because your partner now knows that you are suspicious, and they can take action accordingly.

These are some of the reasons you should avoid throwing unfounded accusations at your partner.

Fashion Bomb Daily Shop Designer Sybille Guichard of SybG Discusses Growth in Business, Design Processes, New Red Colorway for ‘On a Pedestal’ Shoe and More

You met Haitian American designer Sybille Guichard of SybG back in August as she detailed her battle with Crohn’s Disease and how she launched her rising shoe brand from her hospital bed. Now, she’s back to tell us how her partnership with the Fashion Bomb Daily Shop has projected her brand to new heights along with details on her design process, a new colorway for her popular On A Pedestal shoe, what’s next for the brand in 2021 and more.

Since joining the Fashion Bomb Daily Shop last year, Sybille Guichard and her SybG brand have been met with immense success. She was recently invited to two exclusive events including stylist Jeremy Haynes‘s 35th James Bond-themed birthday bash and the Secret Society pajama-themed movie premiere. She articulated how both events were fun and exciting filled with great networking opportunities and stylish familiar faces like Toya Johnson, Reginae Carter and Kandi Burruss to name a few. She also expressed how fulfilling it was to be recognized as a designer in media outlets like the Daily Mail. For both events, she wore pieces from SybG including the Perfect Match heels in both black and blue as well as jewelry.

She expresses, “Business has been great and really growing at a fast pace. Partnering with Fashion Bomb Daily, they are able to reach so many people from regular readers to stylists and celebrities. They are able to reach demographic of people I probably would’ve taken a lot longer to reach on my own. So, I am super thankful.

SybG shoes have been an absolute hit amongst our shoppers. In fact, her “On A Pedestal” shoes have become a fan-favorite, selling out twice. Sybille shared with us that she intended to actually ditch the shoe due to its complex design (wearers are asked to size up due its small-sized run). However, the two-strap heeled sandal became in high demand during the inception of the partnership, so she brought the shoe back just for us.

Now, the shoe you know and love is being offered in a new colorway: red. Sybille Guichard goes into the detail on the shoes’s design elements: “The sexy red makes for the perfect pop of color. There’s also the matte snakeskin and black shadowing in between the cracks of the snakeskin. Then, you have the chrome at the bottom of the heels that adds to the combination of textures and fabrics to give the shoe dimension.

Angela Simmons wearing the $45 Saint Louis Baguette Horizontal Crystal Hoops by SybG

In less than a year, SybG has also expanded its product selections bringing jewelry into the mix. As a huge lover of costume jewelry since high school, this inclusion serves as a further representation of Sybille Guichard. She explains, “If I can give women the look they’re going for with nice costume jewelry, I will do so. I want to show that you can still look fly with your costume jewelry.Angela Simmons and Althea Heart have both been spotted in the SybG’s jewelry recently.

Althea Heart wearing SybG’s Top of the Line Thigh High Boots and Round Eternity Crystal Hoops

With the brand named after her, Sybille Guichard’s presence and story is felt in each aspect and item of SybG. As a Haitian American, she makes sure to “put on for her people” as a first generation American in her family who didn’t take the traditional healthcare path. She truly loves the fashion industry and the fact she can represent for Haiti. Also posing as a painter and art lover, her eye for asymmetry and unlikeness heavily influences her design process when it comes to her trendy shoes.

She shares: “Everything I start, I start while I’m in the hospital. I would be in the hospital for months at a time which allowed me time to sit down and heal. In 2015, I was hospitalized for months when a friend asked what I needed. I asked her to go to Walmart and get me a few bottles of paint and bring my canvas from home. I’ve always been a sketcher, but I had never painted. I had sketched a self-portrait and my friend encouraged me to paint it…it turned out amazing. I started taking little things around the hospital like tissue paper, stickers, gauze squares, and bandaids, putting them on canvas, adding texture and a story to the pieces. My whole hospital room turned into an art gallery, nurses would come into my room and bring other nurses to see my pieces. Some even bought my artwork. When I got better, I got involved with art shows and commissioned pieces.

When it came to her artwork, Guichard has always enjoyed the use of mix media and uneven lines and shapes which she says essentially describes her as a person. She references yin and yang, opposites that match or attract, describing herself in two parts: one part is fun and artsy while the other is sick and stagnant. Altogether, you get Sybille Guichard and thus her shoes.

The individual yet universal theme follows her design process as well with each set of shoes flaunting mix-matching details. For example, the Perfect Match sandals has different color straps, one strap is yellow while the other is pink. Even when you think your pair of SybG shoes are the same, they aren’t. Each sandal presents separate symbols on the bottom of each shoe as one may carry the ribbon for Crohn’s disease while the other dons the SybG logo. She explains, “I don’t make anything even. I like the flow of not flowing. It’s always been my thing.

When discussing her personal favorite SybG shoe, she goes with the Perfect Match. She explains why: “The Perfect Match was my first shoe, my baby. It’s what started the brand, so it will always have a close love in my heart.

As far as the second half of 2021, SybG plans to work on dropping more shoes in different styles. She also mentioned that collaborations are in the works as well as more jewelry. In all, she said the rest of the year will essentially consist of “more SybG”.

Embracing Sustainability: 6 Emerging Trends That Shows The Sustainable Revolution is Already Underway

In the last two decades alone, the changes that have happened in the world have been so rapid and in the world of sustainability, there have been changes that are happening out of necessity to help our planet. The pandemic has been a platform to host a whole new way of working and in turn has hosted a range of ways to be more sustainable. These emerging trends within sustainability are encouraging to get people to jump on the green bandwagon and being in lockdown has uncovered many potential sustainable ways of living.

Hybrid Living and Working

The pandemic has changed so much about the way we conduct our lives and interactions and this includes the way in which we work. Hybrid Living and Working has become the norm for many people and navigating this looks like it’s here to stay even after the lockdown is over.

Hybrid living and working refer to a mix between virtual and in-office attendance. Many companies have seen virtual working and working from home works and it accommodates the needs for that company or business. So hybrid working is a great way to accommodate both ways of working and as a result, is more sustainable. Statistics show that the majority of people would prefer to work from home or hybrid work after the pandemic.

Hybrid working will result in a more convenient way of working as commute times will be severely reduced which in turn will lead to less carbon-heavy travel and less time. This is a sustainability trend that will not only lead to decreased carbon footprints but can be expected to be a long-lasting way of future working.

Upcycling Clothing and Sustainable Accessories

The fast fashion industry is one of the most contributing sectors to the damage of our planet and the demand and processes of the fast fashion industry mean that more and more people are turning to slow fashion and upcycling techniques.

The fashion industry is one of the most innovative when it comes to upcycling and sustainability and this is most definitely one of the sustainability trends that is not going anywhere. From the unethical sourcing of materials to the high energy consumption to make fast fashion garments, upcycling clothing is a great solution to these problems and repurpose clothing that already exists.

By choosing to shop at second-hand clothing stores and making new items out of the clothes you might already have, you might have a whole new wardrobe without the expense of impacting the planet. The diversity of slow fashion brands like Lucy and Yak give options to people of all shapes and sizes and allow your ethical and environmentally conundrums to be put to ease.

Alongside upcycling fashion, you already have, sourcing sustainable brands when purchasing anything new is also something that so many people are turning to. For example with accessories alone, you could make sustainable choices. Statistics show that over half the world will be wearing glasses by the end of 2050. You can click here that there are many eco-friendly options and alternatives that you can go for instead. Now that’s a lot of pairs of glasses so making the everyday accessories more sustainable is a must to make a difference.

Green Financial Literacy

Living in the age of information, this also extends to the information we have about our financial situations including how we decide to bank. Consumers want to live more consciously and knowing that they are reducing their plastic and energy consumption is easy to monitor when they’re actively doing it, but what about when other companies are involved in their decision making?

Making more sustainable purchase decisions is a sustainability trend that we hope to see more of. The term green finance is a way to ensure that the way you’re banking is not contributing to the climate crisis. This can include deforestation and oil and gas mining, you can look into this by looking at the companies that your bank is partnered with and make your decisions from there. You can demand transparency from your bank and if you’re not happy with it, find a bank that aligns with your ethics and needs.

Sustainable Beauty Brands

The beauty industry is now starting to spearhead in being more sustainable and centring sustainability as primary for their company. Larger companies who don’t partake in animal cruelty and ensure their products are vegan are growing in popularity. Beauty companies such as Lush use little to no packaging and encourage their customers to recycle the packaging they do have.

By reducing the carbon footprint with as well as their other climate positive actions, makes these types of companies a winner for more eco-minded customers and consumers. The more traditionally sourced beauty companies are now also trying to make lines and products that are more climate-friendly which is predicted to just continue to grow over the years. This type of beauty company is taking the industry by storm and is more than a trend and is the way the beauty industry will make its mark to be a more sustainable sector.

Reusable Materials, the death of single-use plastic

Replacing single-use plastics in our everyday life has pretty much become sustainability 101. The use of single-use plastics has proven to be very detrimental to the environment. In the UK alone, there is a charge on single-use plastic bags and the switch has been made from plastic straws to paper straws in bars and restaurants.

The use of reusable water bottles and coffee cups have become more popular which highlights the trend of reducing single-use plastic amongst consumers. Switching from single-use plastic to its reusable counterpart is one the easiest things you can do to begin to live a more sustainable life.

Truly Doing it Yourself

DIY or do it yourself is a sure-fire way to know what you are using without the reliance of knowing all about a company and their ethics. From creating body scrubs from old coffee grounds to creating your own moisturiser to repurposing old fruit peels into candles, turning to DIY hacks and the tip is a great way to turn to more sustainable options and is becoming more and more popular.
