Celebrities cannot get enough of Mugler’s Spring 1997 butterfly-inspired dress! Over the years, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Irina Shayk have all been spotted in the captivating couture gown.
Titled “Les insectes”, the Mugler Spring 1997 collection was influenced by all types of insect-like creatures from crawling critters to majestic winged animals. As for the celebrity-obsessed gown at hand, it appears strapless covered entirely with sequins arranged to resemble that of a butterfly’s wings. The dress was worn by actress and model Jerry Hall during the Spring 1997 show.
Irina Shayk was spied in the gown while attending the new Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibit at the MAD in Paris. She even wore the same exact heels worn by Jerry Hall and a similar pair of black gloves to accompany the dress.
While shooting the music video for “Diva (2008)”, the iconic Mugler dress was amongst Beyoncé‘s many looks from the visual. Styled by Ty Hunter, the gown was completed with a pair of peep-toe heels.
Lastly, Jennifer Lopez wore the Mugler Spring 1997 butterfly sequin dress while attending the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. She went with a sort of wild and wispy style for her hair, adding to the dress’s untamed nature.
While in Paris participating in fashion week festivities, Cardi B stopped by Cesar Restaurant where she posed with the owner for a quick flick after dinner. Of course, the rapper kept it stylish in a designer look while dining.

She then finished the look with jewelry pieces such as bracelets, rings, a watch, and hoop earrings.
At the finale watch party, Luckett was spied with the show’s cast members including Hailey Kilgore, Patina Miller, Rosal Colón, and more. Actually, the singer will be joining the show’s leading ladies for season 2 for a recurring role as Jukebox’s mother.
When it came to her latest look, Ella Rodriguez went for a stylish yet casual ensemble. Included in her outfit, she wore an affordable multicolor patchwork shirt from Fashion Nova.
Ella Rodriguez wore the $44.99 I Wanna Know Plaid Tunic from Fashion Nova. Ella paired the top with black leggings, Nike Dunk Low “Michigan” sneakers, and a red Chanel handbag. She also rocked a shimmering cuban link necklace to go with her look.
The I Wanna Know Plaid Tunic appears in a multicolor plaid patchwork design with functioning front buttons and a slightly frayed raw hem. The tunic top also comes oversized for extreme coziness and comfortability.
You may notice that Ella’s top seems to be cropped, leading us to believe she cut the garment to achieve that look. You can cut the top as well for a cropped vibe or leave it as it comes for an oversized feel. The choice is yours!
Cardi B is back and better than ever! After having her second baby, the music artist has been laying low and spending time with her family. However, yesterday she sent fans into frenzy as she made a grande return to the fashion scene during Paris Fashion Week and she did so in such a Cardi-esque way.
Cardi B visited the opening party for the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibition at the MAD in Paris. The exhibition features restorations of the designer’s couture and ready-to-wear pieces including Cardi’s epic dress from the 2019 Grammys. For the event, Cardi appeared in two archival Mugler looks. She stepped on the scene wearing this over-the-top (literally, it hovered over her head!) red feather and sequin look from the brand’s 1995 collection. In fact, the same look was worn by Eva Herzigova during the Fall 1995 show.
The “Up” artist later was spied in another Mugler look from the brand’s archives, this time going for an all black vibe. She wore a Spring 1997 couture look from the collection inspired by winged creatures and insects. The look consisted of a corseted feather trim top and a sheer mesh skirt.
Real Housewives of Potomac star and singer Candiace Dillard Bassett held an album release party in DC at Club Karma for her debut album, Deep Space. Which look from the Academy Museum Gala was your favorite?
Crop tops, graphic tees, bralettes – all shirts, all adding just the right amount of flavor to our closets! We love them, we want them and we will talk a bit about them here. All the big brands have dipped their toes in the latest trends; think Balmain, Alexander McQueen, and Fendi. From logo shirts to more subtle branding, lace, puffy sleeves – there are plenty of styles to choose from.
Given there are several points to consider in picking the right kind of shirt for your closet, head over to yofreesamples to get a more wholesome view of what options are available out there. Your body type also plays an integral part in what sort of shirt styles would suit you – not all styles/cuts flatter every figure. Determining which type you are will certainly help in your purchasing decision.
Trends are ever-changing and we like to keep up with them where we can. Certain shirt styles have been hot consistently through many seasons, others are one-season wonders. We are going to let you in on a few of our favorite ones. Keep in mind that the most important factor in all this is how you will feel in the shirt and whether or not the cut/style agrees with your frame.
Let’s get to it.
The Graphic Tee
From Notorious B.I.G to Aaliyah or a basic ‘Black Lives Matter’ print, the graphic tee has been consistently trendy. The graphics change from season to season – but the basic trend remains intact. Brands like Gucci and Nike sometimes collaborate with artists for their graphics to make the shirts pop more. The greatest quality of a graphic tee is that it can be paired with all manner of bottoms and it can be dressed up or down. Add edgy accessories like these Louis Vuitton earrings and you have a winning look!
The Crop Top
The crop top has truly stood the test of fashion seasons. In the ’80s & ’90s, it was worn by both men and women in bold colors and different fabrics, cotton being the most popular one. The crop top has evolved over the years and we are here for it! There have been tweaks to the original design in necklines, form-fitting or loose designs, and the fabrics used on it. Get some statement Dior accessories to create an edgy look. An absolute must-have for you, our trendy queen!
The Button-down Shirt
We promise you – it is not as boring as it sounds! The button shirt is so versatile that you can go from office to brunch with the girls in an instant! Fashion powerhouses like Balenciaga are doing very interesting things with it, removing the ordinary from the humble button-down and making it edgy and very stylish. Go for a plain one and cinch it at the waist with a thin belt, tuck one end into your jeans, throw on a pair of heels and you’re ready to go!
The three types of shirts mentioned above are three in a sea of many, many other ones! We hope we have given you a point from which to begin your wardrobe upgrade. Be sure to make your makeup and fragrance complement your entire look – and that your confidence is on lock!
Rihanna was recently spotted leaving an after party for the Governors Ball Music Festival with boyfriend A$AP Rocky. The singer sported a new curly do along with a comfy-looking navy baggy jumpsuit.
Rihanna wore a navy off-the-shoulder cargo jumpsuit by Matthew Adams Dolan. Apparently, the jumpsuit is from an upcoming collection by the designer who hasn’t produced a ready-to-wear collection since the Spring/Summer 2020 season. Known for designing American sportswear, the designer was recently featured in the Met as a part of this year’s “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” exhibit. Rihanna has been long-time fan of the designer’s work, rocking his pieces as apart of her everyday street style and becoming somewhat of a muse for the brand.
The bad gal paired the look with a $3,250 Dior mini saddle bag and Fenty Parachute boots (unavailable). She also unveiled a new curly bob hairstyle with this latest look. She wore a similar hairdo with looser curls while attending the 69th Annual Parsons Benefit in 2017, where she was also wearing a Matthew Adams Dolan look.
