If Spring/Summer 2022 fashion weeks have made anything clear, it’s that the cutouts and racy straps have solidified themselves as a trend that is here to stay. These styles have made their way from street to multiple runways, and celebrities are strongly embracing indie brands and designer labels like Rui, Nensi Dojaka, Hyein Seo, Ottolinger, Dion Lee, Eckhaus Latta and Louisa Ballou who consistently bring these body-positive, edgy fashions to the runway. It may seem risqué at first, but you can pull off the look too! Here’s how…

Paris Fashion Week has been nothing shy of exciting. In the latest highlight of the iconic fashion week, Balenciaga took an unconventional route when it came to its Spring/Summer 2022 show.
Models mixed with celebrities flooded the red carpet which was also posed as the runway for the latest collection. An excited crowd of fans and photographers could be heard as models strutted the carpet and posed in the Summer 2022 pieces that were indeed red-carpet and street-style ready. Essentially, guests were modeling all the while participating in the traditional Hollywood-style occasion. Figures like Lewis Hamilton, Offset, Elliot Page, Amber Valletta, and more were amongst the models for show.
Other familiar faces were attendance including Cardi B and her stylist Kollin Carter, Michele Lamy, and Naomi Campbell.
Pushing boundaries by combining fashion and pop cultural entertainment, the Summer 2022 presentation included a screening of a special collaborative episode between Balenciaga and animated comedy show The Simpsons, a show creative director Demna Gvasalia has always loved. The 10-minute viewing takes place during Marge Simpson’s birthday of which Homer Simpson requested a Balenciaga gown to fulfill her longtime wish of having a piece from brand. The gesture influenced an animated Gvasalia to include everyday people from the city of Springfield to be in his next show in Paris, which the Simpson family models in. The exclusive episode includes many humorous references such as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in the front row wearing their 2020 Halloween costumes, Anna Wintour shedding a tear that is reserved for a perfume bottle of “Wintour No. 9”, and jokes surrounding Balenciaga’s prices and the pronunciation of the brand’s name. There are also appearances of pieces from past Balenciaga collections shown in the visual as well.
The 64-piece collection continues the Balenciaga aesthetic of reimagined ready-to-wear with silhouettes that either cling to the body or drape slightly off due its super oversized nature. While the color palette was overall muted, pops of pinks and blues matched with shimmering silver foil-like material and vibrant prints like polka dots made for standout details. Also, accessories definitely made themselves seen and known as the brand introduced new and reinterpreted footwear, eyewear, handbags, and jewelry. Not to mention, a new metal-studded platform Balenciaga x Crocs shoe made its way down the red carpet-runway as apart of their ongoing collaboration.
Balenciaga’s Summer 2022 collection not only offered a playful take on fashion, but it showed that the brand truly cannot be placed in a box when it comes to the actual pieces and even presentations.

Ciara recently announced her latest business partnership where she became co-owner, investor, and director rum brand known as Ten To One Rum. To celebrate her next big pursuit, she strutted carrying a bottle of the brand’s rum while wearing a stunning dress that showed off her long, glowing legs. Her look included a black draped corset dress by Alon Livné paired with $950 Jimmy Choo Max 150 platform sandals, styled by Kollin Carter.
Her husband and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson even showed his support for his wife’s new partnership.
From the brand’s evening collection, the Alon Livné dress is quite the stunner with its corseted bodice matched with other eye-catching details like its structured cutouts and high slit which finds itself adorned with elegant drapery.
Congratulations to Ciara on her new business venture!
You ask, we answer! Many of you requested details on Joie Chavis’s recent look. @clairemoniquexx says, “Hi can you help finding Joies shirt and shoes 😍” @jaylalove adds, “Heyyy do you know where this top is from?”
Joie Chavis continued her birthday festivities as the model was spotted enjoying a night out with friends! As a fashionista to watch, she stepped out in a head-turning look, of course. She wore a $1,990 Mugler oversized shoulder open back poplin top and denim shorts. She paired the ensemble with $1,390 Bottega Veneta wire stretch sandals, vintage 1990s Versace chain frame sunglasses, and a Chanel crystal and silver-tone metal mini flap bag.
It is no secret that her Mugler structural white top is the star piece of this look. The $1,990 top serves a fresh take on the classic button shirt with updates including a sexy open back with a tie detail and dramatically broadened shoulders. Pairing this shirt with your favorite denim bottoms, like Chavis, will surely give you a significant yet casual look for an outing.
The special thing about Tia Mowry’s look is that it gives off the impression of a jumpsuit while it is actually two separate pieces. The Donna Karan signature twist faux-leather blouse is currently sold out in black, but it is available in a cream-toned color known as Palomino. You can still get Tia’s look with the same exact Alice and Olivia trousers by going with the almond colorway instead.
