Paris Fashion Week is soon coming to a close so we’re looking back on trend takeaways from the most memorable designer showcases! Without further ado, here are the top 6 trending styles on the runways of Off-White, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Balmain, Dior, Balenciaga and Givenchy:
Armorcore
Both Balmain and Dior made a return to the 15th century with medieval-inspired design choices! Garments resembling knights in shining armor with a contemporary charm made their way down the aisle.
A number of shows including Balenciaga, Givenchy, YSL, made strong color statements that were heavy on the black. Each designer did black in their own way for Fall/Winter 2022.
For Fall/Winter 2022 to 2023, you’ll want to trade in your flannel for your choice of tartan, gingham or checker print done in an elevated fashion! Off-White and Dior brought their checkers to the runway in maximalistic ways.
Designers like Olivier Roustieg at Balmain, Denma at Balenciaga and Pierpaolo Piccioli at Valentino are playing on the mix of baggy fits, sharp tailoring and round shapes. The end result is a futuristic silhouette made for today’s most avant-garde dressers.

Highs and Lows
When it comes to evening wear, we are here for the highs and the lows! Off-White, Christian Dior and Givenchy each made iterations of the high-low dress fit for the red carpet.

You cannot just pick any swimsuit that you like, since it has to fit well, flatter your figure and look good both dry and wet. Swimsuits Made From Cotton

However, it can fade and fray with time.
Polyester
Compared to nylon, polyester isn’t as soft. In addition to its durability, it does not shed water as quickly as nylon or dry as quickly as cotton. Unless they are made from a mixture of nylon and polyester, it is not generally found in modern swimsuits.
Lycra
Swimming suits made from Lycra fit well and repel water very quickly. It is hard for people of average size and shape to wear lycra because it is very form fitting.

The lack of stretch in the lining of your swimsuit will immediately affect its fit. Look for linings that have neutral colors. By doing so, opacity will be increased; a firm and stable piece created, and a softening effect will be created.

Who was Karl Lagerfeld?
Karl Lagerfeld was a fashion designer and creative director, most famously for Chanel. He was born in Germany in 1933 and died in Paris in 2019, leaving behind a glittering career as one of the leading fashion designers in Europe. He wasn’t just well known for his work. He had a signature appearance with snow-white hair, black sunglasses, fingerless gloves and collars that could be detached from his shirts.
The show that we discuss below was one of Lagerfeld’s last before he passed away. In fact, he only produced five more shows before his death.
The Paris Show of 2015
One of Lagerfeld’s most memorable and significant shows was his Paris Show of 2015. It was a show to reveal his Autumn collection. The show was innovatively set within a casino (the Grand Palais, to be exact) on the casino floor, encompassing gaming tables and dealers. The audience sat on the outskirts of the floor as models used the steps down the casino floor and the gaming arena itself as the catwalk.
There were many notable celebrities in attendance, some of whom took the opportunity to play some of the casino games in the process. To show their support, some of the biggest names in attendance were Kristen Stewart, Rita Ora, Julianne Moore, Lara Stone, and Lily-Rose Depp.
A show that raised the stakes?
The outfits were representative of the surroundings. Let’s just say that you weren’t ever going to see a swimwear model strutting by a blackjack table. Each of the models in the show wore tight wigs that had been styled into a bob. A business theme was used to show off a wealth of female suits, skirt suits, boxy jackets, slim-cut trousers and blazers. The outfits didn’t look out of place in the setting, and everything was knitted together perfectly.
Although Lagerfeld raised the stakes by placing his show away from a standard catwalk in a conventional venue, he managed to win on the night.
