Dress to Impress: 7 Colors in Fashion and Their Deeper Meaning

Almost every person has a favorite color that attracts their attention more than others. Your mood can depend on the shades of your surroundings, and they can be a massive part of your personality. Each shade can trigger different behavioral traits.

Usually, the shade you decide to wear is the tint you can express yourself with the best. Psychologically, they can say a lot about your characteristics and how others perceive you. If you are faced with color selection, you will pick a shade that speaks to you the most. That can tell a lot about your desires and preferences.

If you are a college student, you will probably express yourself through your style and clothes. Having similar tastes in coloring and fashion may connect you with your colleagues more and help you meet new people. If you want to spend more time with friends and meet unique individuals but have lots of responsibilities and assignments to write, you have probably thought:‘’Oh, I wish I could spend more time with my pals, but I can only do that if I rewrite my essay today.’’ If that’s the case, look no further and feel free to leave your task in the hands of the best online service that will get the job done for you.

But back to the topic. Pigments can play a significant role in our social lives. They can also affect our decisions, mind, and mood. Below, we have gathered some of the most influential colorants and their meaning. Next time you don’t know what shade to wear, we are confident that you will remember what color spoke to you directly, and in no time, you’ll be wearing it.

7 Colors in Fashion and Their Deeper Meaning

  1. Red- The tint of love, passion, and energy

This tint is a perfect pick if you want to impress somebody since it is associated with love, warmth, and passion. It’s the best shade pick if you want to show commitment at a meeting or create a lively aura.

In the other context, red symbolizes danger and attractiveness. Using a bright red shade can be a good idea to spice up your outfit or add some accent. But be careful because it may appear unappealing and contra-productive.

  1. Yellow- The shade of happiness

Yellow is a beautiful dye that makes us think of the sun, happiness, and hope. This shade can increase the production of serotonin and cheer us up. People that like being outside and are creative individuals prefer this hue.

You can look younger when wearing this shade. People will notice you more leisurely, and you will stand out more. On the other hand, be cautious since yellow can mean cowardice, caution, and jealousy.

  1. Pink- The symbol of youth and playfulness

This shade nurtures femininity and is a symbolic color of the breast cancer support movement.  Pink reveals curiosity and creativity, and it can light up dark shades. On the other hand, people associate it with passivity and inexperience. It can present a tendency to be over-emotional and timid.

Pink lies between white and red. It takes all energy and passion from the red and purity from the white. It’s the perfect option to tone down aggression and soften the formal design.

  1. Green- The symbol of tranquility and nature

Money, health, envy, and luck are associated with the color green. In ancient mythology, this shade symbolized the fertility of the women and the earth. This pigment can inspire creativity and environmental awareness.

This calming tint can put us at ease, and for this reason, designers often feature it in their creations. Because of its calming effects, people feel refreshed and relaxed while wearing this hue. Some people say it even motivates them and associates them with a high need for success. It can also indicate safety, whereas the red color communicates warning and danger.

  1. Blue- Traditional, secure and peaceful pigment

Many people adore this one. It is a favorite shade for most men and is described as a sign of stability and reliability. If you want to present yourself as a sincere, calm, or even intense person, blue is an excellent choice for you. Stylists often use this dye to evoke sadness or to influence your feelings. If you want to arouse a sense of emotional energy or strength, dark blue is a perfect option for you.

  1. Purple- Emblem of royalty, luxury, and power

Purple is a mixture of the calmness of blue and the fierce energy of the red. It is associated with royalty and ambition. This is a color of creative and devoted individuals who have uplifting spirits. Fashion designers like to use this dye when they want to represent romantic and nostalgic feelings. Dark purple creations evoke feelings of frustration.

If you find this shade perfect for you, make sure you don’t put on too much because it can evoke impatience and arrogance. Throughout history, high-rank people and royalty have worn purple robes. It was a rare pigment in nature and one of the most expensive ones to make.

  1. Black & White

These two absences of pigment are one of the most worn in the fashion world. They can be combined with any color and have a robust presence. Black pigment screams elegance, mystery, authority, and sophistication. It can be associated with the feeling of unknown and confidence. On the other hand, black represents mourning and death in some countries.

White symbolizes purity, innocence, and safety. If you like a minimalistic fashion look, the white tint will suit you perfectly. Since this shade is a luminous color that can cause headaches, it can even be blinding in excessively bright light. This color impacts our mental clarity and encourages the purification of thoughts.

Conclusion

Colors play a vital role in the world we live in, and we can express ourselves the best with different options from the color wheel. There are no limits on what shade we should wear. Make sure the colors you decide to jump in make you happy and comfortable.

Don’t be scared to try diverse shades until you find the one that speaks best to you. That shade can be your represent color and make people think of you when they see it. Everybody responds differently to different tones– so experiment and find yourself in color psychology.

Deepika Padukone Was the Epitome of Opulence in a Custom Saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla on the Cannes Red Carpet

During the closing ceremony of the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival, Deepika Padukone dazzled us one last time as she owned the entire red carpet and emerged in a regal off-white, pearl ornamented custom design by designer Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

The garment was a traditional saree, often worn by women from South Asia, which consists of fine fabrics draped over one shoulder and wrapped around the waist. For Deepika who was styled by Shaleena Nathani, she wore a strapless, pearl embellished bralette overlapped with a semi-sheer ivory material that featured gathered flounces, creating a ruffled effect.

The wrap-around motion of the fabric surrounding her body gave way to a majestic tiered silhouette that was truly hypnotic. If that wasn’t enough to set her apart, a hand-embroidered neckpiece that reportedly carries roughly 1,200 pearls and 200 crystals rested against her shoulders and collarbone.

What a way to end the 75th anniversary celebration of Cannes! What do you think?

5 Ways to Accessorize Like an A-Lister: The Ultimate Guide to Mixing it Up, Layering & Repurposing Your Pieces

Lets face it, if dressing like a star were as easy as putting on your favorite clothes and waltzing out the front door, we’d all be doing it! But alas, fashion is a sport that involves a balance of colors, textures, volumes, lengths and, oh yes, accessories. Being your own stylist is not always easy so, thankfully, Fashion Bomb Daily is here to help by letting you in on some industry secrets on how to accessorize like an A-lister:

1. Make sure you’ve got options

Photo: Brandon Almengo

Step one sounds simple, but to really nail it you’ve got to think a little outside of the box. Let’s normalize not sticking to one aesthetic, shall we? Because fashion is expressive and personal style is dependant on the day, the mood, the weather and occasion, etc., so no one can be expected to stick to just one aesthetic. The first challenge and step towards accessorizing like a pro is to curate a collection of add-ons that speak to you regardless of aesthetic… you never know when it might come in handy!

2. Accessorize based on the outfit

Photo: IG/Reproduction

Now that you have a variety of accessories that you not only love but that are also versatile, you’ve got to let the outfit do the talking. By this we mean don’t just add any old bag, necklace, ring or shoe to just any old look. Each piece should be thoughtfully picked out and serve a purpose in enhancing your ensemble. Think color coordination, playing on details found in the clothes and mixing materials tastefully. Let’s also not forget the age old rule by Coco Chanel, take one thing off before stepping out!

3. Choose an area to highlight

Photo: Getty Images

Next, you’ll want to select a focal point or a feature moment for your outfit. This will help you to decide on which accessory would compliment the look best as well as stop you from adding accessories all over the place, ’cause no one wants to look like a Christmas tree. Ask yourself where you would like to draw attention to and take it from there. Is it an off-the-shoulder neckline, an asymmetrical sleeve, a wid-leg pant? Remember, it’s all about balance.

4. Combine and contrast bold colors with neutrals

Color matching and coordinating doesn’t always mean pair purple with purple, orange with orange, gold with gold – you see where we’re going with this? Often times the best outfits have a bit of everything, but in moderation. Rule of thumb, stick to 2 or 3 (maximum) colors to maintain visual balance. Pops of color are great against a muted ensemble, and understated accessory choices are a good choice when decorating louder outfits.

5. Find new ways to wear old accessories

Last but not least, any celebrity stylist would tell you that the ultimate key to keeping things fresh is to repurpose your accessories by giving them new life and wearing them in ways that neither you nor anyone else has ever done before. At times it’s about recreating a look out of what you already have within your closet. For example, try wearing a necklace as a bracelet, a belt or even a chain for your fave beret! The possibilities are endless with this one, so let your creativity run wild.

Natural Hair Love: We’ve Got a Hair Crush on Lena Mahfouf, Viola Davis and Letitia Wright as Seen at the Cannes Film Festival

We saw a lot of things on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival this year… a mix of haute couture, custom and archival fashion. When it comes to beauty trends, one pleasant surprise was the amount of hairstyles embracing our natural textures and coils! These three starlets in particular took the cake when flaunting their curls as a style statement, here are some of Fashion Bomb Daily‘s favorite natural hair looks from French influencer Lena Mahfouf, actresses Viola Davis and Letitia Wright:

Rock that ‘Fro

Viola glowed for more reasons than one as she made her way past those red velvet ropes at the Cannes Film Festival. That yellow, that skin, that hair! Fluffed to pure perfection and just ever so slightly pulled back, her mane sat like a crown atop her head.

Another set of curls that had the audience gasping was Lena Mahfouf’s bouncy afro for the ELVIS movie premiere. The young socialite was giddy with excitement as she took to social media to share that this was her first time au naturel on any red carpet!

Do the Curly Up-Do

Lena wore her locks out once again while in Cannes, this time in a messy up-do that showcased her luscious ringlets. This girl really knows how to pick the right hairstyle for the right outfit and occasion!

Letitia Wright also did not disappoint with the natural hair up-dos, including this bold ponytail for the Chanel party at Cannes! For all of her events and activities while in France, she worked closely with hairdresser Mitchell Cantrell who specializes in curls, coils and textures of all sorts.

Braid it Back

Thanks to Mitchell’s extraordinary creativity, together they whipped up this slicked back braided ponytail for the premiere of her film ‘The Silent Twins’ using products by Ouidad.

For her final day at the premieres, Letitia looked cool as a cucumber with cornrows and a braided bun. It does not get more clean and effortless than that! We’re adding this one to our favorites for sure.

Braided up-dos were also worn by ‘The Pilot’ actress Eye Haidara and world-renowned dancer/choreographer Jeny Bonsenge, hair dressed by Kitoko Ladies!

Vintage Engagement Rings Styles And Settings

Do you like the idea of wearing a unique ring with a story behind it? If so, then you may be interested in vintage engagement rings. These rings are from a different era and often have interesting designs.

Vintage engagement rings come in various styles and settings, each with its unique history and meaning. Choosing the right ring can be a daunting task, but it’s important to select a ring that looks beautiful and has personal significance.

The guide will explore the different types of vintage engagement rings and the most popular setting options. With this information, you’ll be able to find the perfect ring for your special someone.

Types of Vintage Engagement Rings

Many different types of vintage engagement rings are available on the market today. The following is a brief overview of some of the most popular options:

  • Art Deco Rings: Art deco rings are characterized by geometric shapes and bold lines. These rings are often made of white gold or platinum and feature diamonds in the center.
  • Victorian Rings: Victorian rings are from the period of Queen Victoria’s reign (1837-1901). These rings typically feature intricate designs and are made of yellow gold.
  • Edwardian Rings: Edwardian rings are from the early 1900s and feature delicate designs. They are often made of platinum and feature diamonds or other gemstones.
  • Art Nouveau Rings: Art nouveau rings are characterized by organic, flowing lines. These rings are often made of yellow gold and may feature enamel work.

How to Choose a Vintage Engagement Ring?

When selecting a vintage engagement ring, it’s important to consider:

  • The Era: The first step is to decide which era you’re interested in. Do you want a ring from the Victorian era, the Edwardian era, or the Art Deco era? Once you’ve decided on an era, you can narrow your search.
  • The Style: vintage engagement rings come in a wide variety of styles. Do you prefer a more simple design or an intricate one? Do you want a ring with gemstones or just a diamond? Consider your style when selecting a ring.
  • The Setting: The setting is just as important as the stone. Do you want a solitaire setting or something more unique? What type of metal do you prefer? These are all important factors to consider when choosing a vintage engagement ring.
  • The Price: Vintage engagement rings can be quite expensive, so it’s important to set a budget before you start shopping. Keep in mind that the price will vary depending on the ring’s era, style, and setting.

How to Care for a Vintage Engagement Ring?

Vintage engagement rings are delicate and require special care. The following are some tips on how to care for your vintage engagement ring:

  • Have the ring cleaned and serviced regularly by a professional jeweler.
  • Be careful when cleaning the ring at home. Use a soft cloth and mild soap, and avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Store the ring in a safe place, such as a jewelry box or safe.
  • Avoid wearing the ring when doing activities that could damage it, such as gardening or cooking.
  • Take the ring off before going to bed.

By following these tips, you can help ensure that your vintage engagement ring will last many years.

3 Tips for Starting Your Own Clothing Line

Fashion is a world of style, glamor, and ambition. If you’re a designer with a dream of a clothing line, there’s no time like the present to take your initial steps into this world. If the dream is to start your own clothing line, you can begin by reading these few tips on important initial steps.

Dreaming of people in the streets wearing your design? Of models strutting up and down the runway showcasing your clothes? Then maybe it’s about time to start your own clothing line. If you want to get into the fashion business, there are a few important steps to take from the start. In this article, you can get tips for three initial things to do.

1. Finding a fashion niche
The first step to taking your dream into reality is making your clothing line specific. What kind of clothes do you want to make? What’s the special thing about your clothing brand compared to others? You must figure out what separates you from all the other clothing lines. You should start finding your niche by figuring out what your specific passions are. You can get inspired by celebrity style here

It’s often a good idea to walk the line between having your own original signature on your pieces and keeping up with the trends as well. The creative process is one of the most important at the beginning and all the way through. This is why you do what you do. So that’s why it’s always a good tip to start in your notebook (or where you sketch) and go from there. Keep the creative process at the center of your business.

2. Create a brand identity for your clothing line

Brand identity is something to consider from the very beginning. The more you incorporate this in the building of your brand, the stronger it will probably be. How do you want to express yourself? What’s your style and vibe? Think about this as this while you make your first collection, your visual material, and choose a name for your clothing line. The name of your clothing line obviously has a huge influence on your brand. But luckily in the fashion world, you can be very creative. A good place to start is to use a fashion brand name generator. It’s a great way to start a brainstorming process, and maybe find the perfect name for the runway.

3. Spend time doing a business and marketing plan
It’s time to think business. If you want to succeed with your clothing line, you should start doing a business and marketing plan. A marketing plan will usually also be included in your business plan. Here you should focus on describing every part of your business and how you’re going to make it a success. A business plan is also essential if you want to raise external funding. You can read much more about making a business plan here.
