The noted treasure trove for stylistas gathered members of the fashion blogosphere to chat about the awesome new things they’re doing and dispel some of the myths about off-price retailing.Many shoppers still assume that Maxx only sells irregular/damaged goods when, actually, that’s less than 5% of their stock. A lot of their merchandise is even in department stores at the same time it’s at T.J.’s, like the above Betsey Johnson bag (which goes for $20 less at Maxx!). I also got to preview some of what’s on tap for spring shoe-wise…and check out some of their current fall accessories!Now, while they can’t advertise which brands they carry, I can give you the scoop that LaRok, Catherine Malandrino, and Alvin Valley were among the many hot labels on the racks. The New York Observer reports that fierce runway coach Miss J is writing a book called Follow the Model: Miss J’s Guide to Unleashing Presence, Poise, and Power:

According to the article, the book promises to include “inspiring advice, life lessons, and self-esteem coaching for all women,” punctuated by Mr. Alexander’s “colorful anecdotes.”
The guide should hit bookstores in Fall ’09 coinciding with the debut of his and Jay Manuel’s new show, Operation Fabulous.
This might be a cute read. Will you invest?
