Fashion Query: Stockings for Brown Skinned Bombshells

Last night curvaceous Toccara made her way to the premiere of Cadillac Records in NYC:

toccara-jones-new-yo9aed76

All looks fine until you reach Toccara’s legs, where it seems she quickly popped on a pair of sheer stockings in a color far from ‘mocha brown.’
Can’t blame her: it’s hard to find hosiery that actually complements our skin color. I remember back in the day finding a few pairs of Mahogany sheer hose at Kroger, but now I just skip the drama and opt for a pair of black opaques.
Still, this begs the question: Have you guys found a great brand of brown skin colored pantyhose??

May from Cambridge, MA correctly answered, “This picture is of Adrienne Fidelin, the first black model to appear in a major fashion magazine. It is by her lover Man Ray and from the September 1937 issue of Harper’s Bazaar.” Correct! Read more about Adrienne in this NYTimes article. Enjoy your earrings May!

Rumors: Anna Wintour Possibly Out at Vogue??

Talk about grist for the mill.
The blogosphere is abuzz with news that Conde Nast head Si Newhouse is in Paris negotiating with French Vogue Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld to have her replace current Vogue EIC Anna Wintour.

Gawker , Jossip, and Fashionista offer more details but I must say, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this. I’m taking it with a big ole grain of salt for now. But it does beg the question: are we ready for a change of the guard at America’s Fashion Bible?

Louis Vuitton + Sprouse!

WWD reports that Louis Vuitton will re release their graffiti bags (a collaboration with Stephen Sprouse) in January 2009:

…picture pink, orange, and green graffiti over the classic monogram print.
The camo print is growing on me, but this one I’m not too sure.
Would you rock one of these graffiti inspired totes?
