It is confirmed! Both Netflix South Africa and Netflix Nigeria took to Instagram to announce that the hit series Young, Famous and African (YFA) has officially been renewed for a second season. With production already underway, new episodes are expected to debut on the streaming service in 2023, and we cannot contain our excitement!

The series documents the lives of a handful of affluent African celebrities and business people across the industries of fashion, entertainment, film, real estate and more! For this reason, this Netflix South Africa original reality series is a major, monumental milestone for the entire continent as a whole who, for the first time, gets to finally have this side of their story told.

A touch of denim never hurt nobody either! It’s a classic Barbie look and an easy way to switch it up from the monogram when need be. Doja Cat did it well in her Cynthia costume, and Blac Chyna made it her own by going full denim with pink hair.

Complimentary colors are another way to refresh your pink on pink on pink Barbie looks. Orange, red, green, black or white are good colours to use when breaking it up and color blocking. Coi Leray colorblocked her look by pairing a Poster Girl mesh outfit with patent leather GCDS Fang Boots, and Laura Govan achieved the same wearing a pink and orange Oyemwen set available at the Fashion Bomb Daily Shop.
Let’s not forget, Barbiecore is for boys too! We’ve got a full style guide on how the men can incorporate pink into their wardrobes and look good while doing it. Click here to get the full scoop!

There are many ways and many shades to play around with when adding that dash of pink to your Barbie inspired looks. Hair, as we’ve seen thanks to Nicki and Black Chyna, is an effective and fun way to go! Lizzo’s hairstylist Shelby Swain opted for fuchsia rather than bubblegum pink, and the impact is undeniable. Don’t be afraid to choose shades of pink that may suit your style, outfit or complexion better!

The same goes for those pretty in pink makeup trends! Be bold with the graphic liner and the lipstick, and select the right hue for you. Cardi’s MUA Erika La Pearl nailed this look in every way!

Are you ready to roll the dice and test your luck at a nearby land-based casino but want to look the best doing that? We can say that casino is where you do not wish to be underdressed, as it will not make you look confident. After all, how many other events do you get to dress in such a manner?
Hence, you need to know a few casino dressing rules before deciding on your final outfit.
1. Get Inspiration from Casino’s Social Media:
You will usually find how others dress at the casino by browsing their social media accounts, especially Instagram. You can search the casino by hashtag to check the accounts of people who visited it a few weeks back. This can be a great inspiration for planning the right attire for an evening.
In fact, when you search for a casino, it makes sense to find the nearest land-based casinos. You can easily do this with the help of the internet. This way, when you search for inspirations online, it makes more sense now as the people who visit these casinos also live nearby and dress in something similar, which helps you make the right outfit decision.
2. Check the Dress Code Online:
Before you visit the casino, you must first check out the casino’s dress code for that evening. You can find this on their site or call them to confirm. It is usually semi-formal, white tie or black tie, and at times formal as well.
a. Casual Wear:
As the name suggests, certain casinos recently allow people to wear more casual attires to feel comfortable spending long hours in the casino.
b. Semi-Formal:
This is quite a standard dress code in many casinos. A woman can wear a cocktail dress or a pat-suit whereas men can wear a business suit with a tie and shoes. A dress might be the right attire if you visit the casino during the daytime. Men can wear a collared t-shirt and dark jeans paired with leather shoes.
c. Black Tie:
If a casino mentions the dress code as black-tie, show up wearing a long evening gown and high-heels shoes. Men should wear a white shirt, a black dinner jacket, a bow tie, and leather shoes.
d. White Tie:
This dress code is required only during private events that take place at the casino. Men must wear a white bow tie, a white waistcoat, a black jacket, and matching trousers with black leather shoes. Women must preferably wear a long evening gown, gloves, and high-heeled shoes.
If a casino states no dress code, that means there are no restrictions, but you should also stick to standard casino fashion and be a bit more casual.
3. Stick to Current Fashion:
You cannot enter a casino wearing something that trended a decade back. While recycling clothes is a good idea, you should not wear outdated fashion.
Casinos stay updated with fashion and always suggest a dress code as per the current trend. If you are unsure how to style right based on current fashion, you need to browse more current trends as you plan the outfit.
4. Dress your Age:
Different age groups dress differently, and whatever the casino’s dress code, you should always dress appropriately based on what suits you. When you browse through inspirations, look for people your age and what outfit they have selected.
5. Think About the Temperature:
Casinos are regulated indoors, but you should still dress according to the temperature outside as you will travel to the casino after all. Even though you take a car along, it still makes it more appropriate to wear dresses that go with the weather.
6. Accessorize:
A casino is a place where you should aim to look fancier than usual. You can go for dangly earrings, a flashy clutch, and silver and gold pieces of jewelry to just add to that glam. Do not forget to wear makeup well.
As a guy, focus on the kind of shoes and watches you wear. You can be a bit loud in this environment.
Think of the Specifics:
If the casino is located inside the hotel, you definitely need to dress up. Just wear some casual clothes and show up as usual on Tuesday afternoon.
But, if you hit the same casino on a Saturday night, you will see fancier people dressed. You do not wish to be feeling underwhelmed; hence dress up.
If you visit a stand-alone casino, then we do not recommend flip-flops any time of the day. Show up properly dressed.
On the other hand, if the casino is in a beach town where people dress most of the time casually, this rule can be exempted.
The Bottom Line:
A casino is a place that presents the opportunity for you to dress glamorously. Not many of us get this chance often; hence, grab it in full swing when it is offered to you.
Several land-based casino operators are strict about their dress code, which could be a formal white tie or more casual. Check in advance before turning on their door to avoid embarrassment or being turned away from the entrance.

It’s easy to think that a face wash and a face cleanser are the same, but they actually both have different functions. Whilst they do both work to remove dirt and impurities from your face, the way that they clean skin is different. Below, we investigate the differences between a face wash and cleanser and find out which one you should be using for your skin type.
What Does a Face Wash Do?
Face washes are water-based and usually formulated as a gel, foam or bar. When used on damp skin, it will lather into a foamy texture that works to clean pores and deeply cleanse the skin. Face washes need to be rinsed thoroughly with water to remove all the residue from the skin.
Face washes penetrate the deeper layers of skin for an intense clean. They often include astringent ingredients, which tighten pores and combat oil production. This means they rarely have moisturizing or hydrating qualities but will instead leave mattified skin.
What Does a Face Cleanser Do?
Face cleansers usually come in a gel, cream, oil, or bar formulation. Cleansers clean the skin, removing dirt, makeup, and excess oils, but they also hydrate and soothe. Cleansers are usually more gentle than a face wash and will have a richer texture.
Cleansers are often combined with other ingredients to nourish skin, giving moisture and hydration whilst also balancing the complexion.
Should You Use a Face Wash or a Face Cleanser?
Face washes can be beneficial for oily or acne-prone skin, thanks to the way they deeply clean pores and remove excess oil. However, care should be taken – if the face wash is too harsh, it could strip the skin and result in more sebum being produced, leaving skin more oily.
Those with dry, sensitive, combination or neutral skin types may find that face washes are too severe for them and will leave their skin too dry and tight. A face cleanser will provide a more gentle clean, removing impurities but also hydrating and nourishing skin.
Those with oily skin could also benefit from a face cleanser, especially if using a face wash leaves their skin feeling dry and uncomfortable. It may be that a combination of both works best, with a cleanser used in the morning and a face wash at night to thoroughly remove dirt from the day.
Ingredients to Look for in Your Face Washes and Cleansers
Face washes that contain salicylic acid are particularly effective at combatting acne, as the ingredient will help to exfoliate pores. Green tea extract is another ingredient to look for in face washes. This natural ingredient can help to control excess oil production in the skin for a balanced complexion.
When looking for a facial cleanser, choose formulas that contain glycerin, as this will hydrate skin and prevent moisture loss. Also look for cleansers that contain niacinamide, as this will boost the skin’s natural barrier whilst also cleansing and firming.
Ingredients to Avoid in Your Face Washes and Cleansers
When choosing a face wash or face cleanser, you should avoid those that contain sulfates. Sulfates are used to form a lather, but they can irritate the skin and cause it to dry out. They can be especially harmful to those with sensitive skin, causing redness and itching.
You should also avoid face washes and cleansers that contain parabens and phthalates. Parabens are used as preservatives to keep the formulas fresh, and phthalates are salts that are used to help formulas spread evenly. However, both can cause disruption of hormones and there is also a concern about their link with increasing the risk of cancer.
You should also try to avoid cleansers that contain mineral oil. This type of oil can clog pores by trapping dead skin cells and other impurities in the pores, which can lead to breakouts.
The Best Way to Wash Your Face
How often you wash your face will depend on your lifestyle. It’s usually best to wash your face twice a day – once in the morning and once at night. You might want to add in an extra cleanse after exercise to remove the dirt from sweating. It’s best not to over-cleanse your face as this can damage the top layer of skin as well as drying you out.
Before you wash your face, make sure your hands are clean. Some face washes or cleansers will require your skin to be dry, whilst others will work best on damp skin – many jelly cleansers will remove makeup better when used on dry skin. Either way, gently massage the product into your skin, working outwards in small circles. Then rinse thoroughly with warm, not hot, water.

Will Monkey Pox stop Fashion Week Shows? Visit TheStateofFashion.bulletin.com for all you need to know. The short answer: it’s unlikely.
In this photo illustration, a test sample tubes labeled ‘Monkeypox’ shown on a surface. Few confirmed cases of the Monkeypox virus have been detected in India.
Yesterday, the Biden Administration declared a State of Emergency due to Monkey Pox, as the illness has infected over 6,000 people in the US. This of course isn’t the best news for the country, and it also doesn’t bode well for international Fashion Weeks, which are set to kick off in New York in September.
Photo taken in Moscow, Russia
Here’s the good news: Unlike Covid, Monkey Pox isn’t deadly, and according to Healthline, there are two available vaccines for it. It’s transmitted via very close skin to skin contact, including hugging, kissing, face to face contact, and sex. Also, according to Rachel Cox, an assistant professor in the School of Nursing at MGH Institute of Health Professions, “Monkeypox generally goes away on its own after two to four weeks,” although children and those with some medical conditions may become more seriously ill.
