What do you think?

A few bomb celebs were out last night to celebrate the Met’s 125th birthday in NYC. And I must say…

Amber is killin’ it! Whether her recent interest in high fashion is Kanye-directed or not, homegirl is coming along beautifully. This cocktail-length white sheath paired with black fur wrap and satin pumps lends elegant unconventionality to the often staid red carpet for black-tie opera soirees.

Kanye is content to give Amber most of the fashion shine but carries off this single-button classic tuxedo and white silk pocket square with panache and understated flair. This is black-tie done right!

It’s fabulous to see these celebs gracing all kinds of red carpets.
What do you guys think?

Our fave fashionista Rihanna has emerged from hiding looking unscathed and uber fabulous as always.
She was spotted out and about in NYC this past Friday rocking these $1,154 Maison Martin Margiela Cut-Out Knee-High Boots:

Sleek and oh so chic, these boots scream ‘strength’ and ‘survivor.’
Get your pair at www.eluxury.com.
So my buddy Avon wanted to see where all the ‘people of color’ in Paris hung out, so I took him to Chatelet Les Halles, a shopping center in the center of the city. Within minutes I saw these fashionable men, who embraced everything from slick vests and pointed shoes to puffy red jackets and baggy jeans:

Style differences aside, it seemed white shoes and cool dark sunglasses were wardrobe musts!
What do you think of their style?
Bisous!
PS I took my first French Real Style at Chatelet when I came for vacation! Reminisce here.
Hey Bombshells,
Adriana here with a belated fashion week scene report.
During the New York shows, I got a chance to do something different and dip into e-Bay’s Vintage Style Suite held in the penthouse of the Royalton Hotel.

The space was transformed with romantic lighting, jewel-colored saris, and flowers and candles floating in over-large bowls, giving it the feel of a cozy treasure chest. A perfect backdrop for displaying some of the vintage gems available on e-Bay! Peep the standouts below (I include prices and vendors with each piece to make the items a bit easier to find).

Fabulous, no? I need that Lanvin dress (at $49.00!) in my life…
Visit e-Bay.com for these and other fantastic finds!
Diva Beyonce graces the cover of Vogue Magazine’s April Issue:

Like the country, it’s the year of change for Vogue–this is their 2nd cover of 2009 featuring a woman of color (Michelle Obama was on Vogue’s March issue). Also, peep the coverline: they’re featuring fashions from Size 0 to Size 20.
I’ve got to give it to Vogue: they’re starting to do their part to reflect the demographics of America. I’m warming up to them, and might even consider reinstating my subscription.
What about you?
PS Beyonce debuts on the Shape issue, which last year featured a controversial cover with Lebron James and Gisele Bundchen:

There was so much drama. Is this restitution?
*A few other recent covers that made Vogue history:

Hey!
I’m preparing for my trip to Corsica, but wouldn’t leave you without Friday Mail Bombs!

We’ll answer as many as we can!
Cheryl from Los Angeles says, “I love these gold sandals that Meagan and Veda are wearing!“

” Can you please tell me the designer or find a replica of the design please?“
Adriana says, “Both ladies appear to be wearing these Bebe Rosario Leather Braided Sandals, which go for $149.“

“…Check out your nearest Bebe shop or go to Bebe.com to cop!”
Next Melody says, “Can you tell me where to get this top Garcelle has on?“

Adriana says, “Vanessa’s wearing this Rebecca Taylor Spring Floral Jumper...”

“…get it for $345 at Bloomingdales.com.“
Now for a few wardrobe questions!
Musu says, “I’m finally turning the big 18 and I’m super excited! I want something sexy and hot to wear on my birthday. I’m a student, so my budget is extremely limited. Thanks guys!“

Lastly, Belinda says, ” I am a 6’8″ tall woman. Yes I did say SIX FOOT EIGHT INCHES TALL!! I love clothes but you wouldn’t believe it because my wardrobe doesn’t reflect my tastes AT ALL. The two celebrities whose clothing tastes totally reflects mine are Jennifer Lopez and Joan Clayton (aka Tracee Elis-Ross) on Girlfriends. I can’t seem to find any designers or outlets that cater for my form or taste. I wonder if you know of stores/designers that do great clothes for us Amazonian types?“
Hey up there! I’m no expert on tall fashions, but after doing a quick search, I found the following options from the websites TallCouture.com, SimplyTall.net, and standby JCrew.com:

1. Pendelton Spectator Trench, $198. 2. Nu Collective Drape Neck Top in Dark Olive, $89. 3. J.Crew Tall White Denim Bootcut Jean, $78. 4. Silver Jeans in Dark Indigo, $73. 5. J.Crew Tall Molten Metallic Perfect Shirt, $78.

During the FB Intern Contest, candidate Jemise reported that GQ has already lauded Andre Benjamin (aka Andre 3000 of my beloved Outkast) as a designer to watch. In further news, his line, BENJAMIN BIXBY, debuted its Spring ’09 collection this past Wednesday at Holt Renfrew in Vuitton’s ‘hood, Canada.

As Dre describes it, “The BENJAMIN BIXBY man is a rebel gent. He likes classics with extraordinary styling.” For the Spring collection, the inspiration is Colonial India–“the black madras tux, the over-dyed polo with underarm details and the khaki cotton suit with a map of India lining.” Interesting. If there’s one celeb I have faith in to produce a clothing line based on something other than vanity and potential profits, it’s definitely 3000.

I couldn’t find images of the Spring line on the Web yet, but above are a few flicks from the BB section at Holt Renfrew.
Will y’all be checking for BENJAMIN BIXBY?
