Socialite Nicole Richie plans to expand her House of Harlow line, adding shoes, bags, belts, and sunglasses:
FabSugar reports she recently signed with manufacturers Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum for a spring debut. Richie will be designing the line herself, so it will most likely include very hippie-inspired wedges and flats–perfect for the laid back yet fashionable new Mommy!
Keri Hilson looked sparkly and chic for her album release party in Atlanta, wearing a $4,000 Matthew Williamson off the shoulder sequined dress for her Down South debut:
Sexy and sultry, the dress balances sass and class, but for $4,000? Might have to pass.
The fashionable spent the weekend patting themselves on the back as a slew of awards shows, birthdays, and parties packed the two-day calendar and, of course, provided plenty of Hot or Hmm material. Let’s do some awarding of our own, shall we?
At the GLAAD Media Awards, the always glamorous Vanessa Williams kept it flirty and youthful in this single-strap mini Matthew Williamson dress with a psychedelic print. Platform sandals, a wide corset belt, and colorful jewelry round out what’s definitely a very Hot! look on its own but somehow seems a bit underdressed (Hmm) given what…
fellow “Ugly Betty”castmate and Fashion Bomb friendAna Ortiz was wearing. This creamy off-the-shoulder sheath with petal-like shoulder straps is both chic and romantic. Ana keeps the look from being too delicate with sexy strappy sandals in dark grey satin and a fierce little snakeskin clutch. And the mommy-to-be glow is fab. Definitely Hot! Similarly dressy was model-turned-mogul…
and GLAAD honoree Tyra Banks, clad in an all-black Georges Chakra couture tuxedo. Her cutaway patterned jacket with silk lapels and semi-palazzo trousers are understatedly elegant, as are her simple jewelry and open-toe pumps. I’d have to loved to see her rock a chignon or twist with this look, as the loose hair takes away from the outfit’s sophisticated flair. This is more of a simmering Hot! for me. Out in Japan…
J-Lo channeled a bit of Kate Moss in black leggings, a striped tee, white platform sandals, and an over-sized Chanel knit jacket with shag trim. I get the look she’s going for (“Bag Lady by Way of Bergdorf’s”) but the too-big shoes and leggings are an awkward pairing, not to mention the busy clash of textures and patterns between the coat and shirt. A rare Hmm for La Lopez.
Over in Miami at Jazz in the Gardens, one of my favorites, Erykah Badu, rocked a Gaultier-esque satin skirt suit, platform YSL booties, and a chapeau that I can only describe as what might happen if a fedora and a stovepipe hat got together. We know that like Bomb favorite Solange, Ms. Badu rocks to the beat of her own drum, and this outfit works in a way only she could pull off. An eclectic Hot!
Back in L.A., Kim Kardashian came out to celebrate Queen Latifah’s b-day in a black, ultra wide-legged jumpsuit with a low sweetheart neckline and embellished metal waist plate. I like the jumpsuit itself and think that Kim is–as usual–flawless in the hair and makeup department, but it looks like if KK were to even think about looking over her shoulder, her goodies would make a red carpet appearance of their own, Hmm…
At the Kids’ Choice Awards, Keke Palmer is a breath of fresh air in a lilac leather mini-dress with simple, round-toe black pumps. Her jewelry, manicure, and makeup are also fantastic–who can believe she’s grown up so fast? It’s an appropriate young lady Hot! Finally…
Keisha Whitaker was stunning at the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night event. Swathed in a fiery orange-red floor-length gown with a unique, harness-like rhinestone applique, her simple hair and makeup let the dress do the talking for her yet still emphasize her natural beauty. Thoroughly and elegantly Hot!

So I was in the RER the other day, waiting for a train, when I saw this young man poppin and lockin by the ticket machines:
I loved his bright color choices: his yellow scarf went well with his multicolored jacket and shoes. I also had to get a close up shot of his haircut. French fashion heads are shaving it in.
What do you think of his style?
Bisous!
PS I live in Paris now! Someone asked me why I had all these Parisian posts. Reference here.
These shoes are just perfect for the season. It’s all about mixing colors with basics, and you can do that with these shoes.
What’s also great about them is that they can transition from spring to fall easily. And at $68 a pop, there won’t be a need to defrost that credit card that’s been in the freezer. You can check them out here.
ABCNews recently shot a controversial video in a Soho boutique where a racist clerk and security guard visibly and loudly harassed a black shopper:
They wanted to see if fellow shoppers would do anything to stop the injustice. The result? Out of 100 shoppers, only 20 stepped in to defend the shopper, and most of those 20 were fellow minorities.
Click here to watch. Does this shock you? Have you ever been a victim of ‘shopping while black’?
With prom and wedding season right around the bend, everyone is probably in short dress mode, especially those in freezing states. But why not go the long and flowy route? This $695 Tibi dress does just that with this pink ombre number:
At $695, heads are going to turn and that green eyed monster will rear its ugly head, but that’s always the goal; isn’t it?
