So we at The Fashion Bomb have noticed a new certified celebrity trend…

…Lace!
The seductive, sometimes sheer fabric has gone from the boudoir to clubs and red carpets, spicing up dresses or stunting on its own in tops and skirts. Depending on how you rock it, you can either look flawlessly elegant or tremendously trashy.
Let’s take a look:

Nia Long and Fashion Bomb friend Chrisette Michelle look demure and lady like in knee length lace dresses in peach and black…

Ashanti goes for super saucy in a halter floor length lace adorned dress….

And Eva and Queen Latifah opt for unquestionable elegance in red carpet gowns.
It’s hard to go wrong with lace, but take note:

Anything too sheer or too short is a definite don’t!

Hey Fashion Bombers!
Today, I wanted to give you guys a peek into my closet.
Most of the time, I dress up for school regardless of occasion or weather:

1. Blackout Sunglasses, 18. 2. Guess Duran Blazer, $168 CAD. 3. Sperry Top-Sider Bahama deck shoe, $50. 4. David Yurman Thoroughbred Bracelet, $395.
This summer is all about my Sperry Top-Sider Bahama deck shoes. They ooze versatility and have a classic appeal. My David Yurman Thoroughbred Bracelet rarely leaves my arm, as it goes from day to night easily and pops with anything from sneakers to dress shoes. I got it for my 21st birthday, and it’s become a staple piece for me. A classic black jacket, like this Guess Duran Blazer, instantly upgrades a pair of jeans. And my Blackout Sunglasses add the necessary dash of cool.

5. Levis 520 Blue Steel Jean, $54. 6. Thierry Mugler A Men cologne, $55. 7. Holly Readers, $14. 8. Lacoste Crew Neck Cable-Knit Sweater, $102. 9. Nike Dunk High Earthquakes, $90.
I absolutely love Levis 520 Blue Steel Jeans! I’m a slim guy, so they strike the perfect balance between not-so-skinny and not-so-baggy. Bonus: they’re very easy to dress up or down. Thierry Mugler A Men cologne is a must have for any guy.  It’s light lavender scent with musk, tar, and vanilla undertones makes it perfect for the entire year. The cracked pattern and the colors of my Nike Dunk High Earthquakes add the right amount of quirkiness to any casual outfit. And I love to chill in my Lacoste Crew Neck Cable-Knit Sweater (worn with wayfarers!) and my fresh eyewear swag (love my Holly Readers).
What do you guys think of my faves?
Keep it fab!

As Fashionista reported yesterday, bib necklaces are all the rage right now, and Anthropologie’s Livia Bib Necklace is a stunning statement piece that, at $48, will liven up any outfit without breaking the bank.

Intricate beading and hanging gems give the piece a bit of an antique feel while sequins lend it a contemporary edge. Throw it on with a simple V-neck tee, under a blazer, or beneath/atop a white oxford shirt to punch up a work outfit. 😉

Socialite Nicole Richie plans to expand her House of Harlow line, adding shoes, bags, belts, and sunglasses:

FabSugar reports she recently signed with manufacturers Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum for a spring debut. Richie will be designing the line herself, so it will most likely include very hippie-inspired wedges and flats–perfect for the laid back yet fashionable new Mommy!
Will you be buying House of Harlow shoes?
Keri Hilson looked sparkly and chic for her album release party in Atlanta, wearing a $4,000 Matthew Williamson off the shoulder sequined dress for her Down South debut:

Sexy and sultry, the dress balances sass and class, but for $4,000? Might have to pass.
Missy hasn’t come out with a new song for a while, so I forgot how innovative and creative her videos were:

Doesn’t this song just make you feel like dancing?
Enjoy!

B-Girl Keri Hilson has certainly stepped up her style game, and her Hollywood album release party was no exception:

She chose to bless the night in a black jumpsuit, cascading necklaces, and strappy wedge heels:

All is hot until you peep her green toes and matching nails. Hmm…
What do you think?

The latest GQ Style Magazine praises the new Obama America, and fittingly features model newcomer David Agbodji:

A native New Yorker, David is fresh on the scene, and it looks like this is his very first spread. I must say, I love the collegiate look:

Hope his star continues to rise. Will keep an eye peeled!
The fashionable spent the weekend patting themselves on the back as a slew of awards shows, birthdays, and parties packed the two-day calendar and, of course, provided plenty of Hot or Hmm material. Let’s do some awarding of our own, shall we?

At the GLAAD Media Awards, the always glamorous Vanessa Williams kept it flirty and youthful in this single-strap mini Matthew Williamson dress with a psychedelic print. Platform sandals, a wide corset belt, and colorful jewelry round out what’s definitely a very Hot! look on its own but somehow seems a bit underdressed (Hmm) given what…

fellow “Ugly Betty”castmate and Fashion Bomb friend Ana Ortiz was wearing. This creamy off-the-shoulder sheath with petal-like shoulder straps is both chic and romantic. Ana keeps the look from being too delicate with sexy strappy sandals in dark grey satin and a fierce little snakeskin clutch. And the mommy-to-be glow is fab. Definitely Hot! Similarly dressy was model-turned-mogul…

and GLAAD honoree Tyra Banks, clad in an all-black Georges Chakra couture tuxedo. Her cutaway patterned jacket with silk lapels and semi-palazzo trousers are understatedly elegant, as are her simple jewelry and open-toe pumps. I’d have to loved to see her rock a chignon or twist with this look, as the loose hair takes away from the outfit’s sophisticated flair. This is more of a simmering Hot! for me. Out in Japan…

J-Lo channeled a bit of Kate Moss in black leggings, a striped tee, white platform sandals, and an over-sized Chanel knit jacket with shag trim. I get the look she’s going for (“Bag Lady by Way of Bergdorf’s”) but the too-big shoes and leggings are an awkward pairing, not to mention the busy clash of textures and patterns between the coat and shirt. A rare Hmm for La Lopez.

Over in Miami at Jazz in the Gardens, one of my favorites, Erykah Badu, rocked a Gaultier-esque satin skirt suit, platform YSL booties, and a chapeau that I can only describe as what might happen if a fedora and a stovepipe hat got together. We know that like Bomb favorite Solange, Ms. Badu rocks to the beat of her own drum, and this outfit works in a way only she could pull off. An eclectic Hot!

Back in L.A., Kim Kardashian came out to celebrate Queen Latifah’s b-day in a black, ultra wide-legged jumpsuit with a low sweetheart neckline and embellished metal waist plate. I like the jumpsuit itself and think that Kim is–as usual–flawless in the hair and makeup department, but it looks like if KK were to even think about looking over her shoulder, her goodies would make a red carpet appearance of their own, Hmm…

At the Kids’ Choice Awards, Keke Palmer is a breath of fresh air in a lilac leather mini-dress with simple, round-toe black pumps. Her jewelry, manicure, and makeup are also fantastic–who can believe she’s grown up so fast? It’s an appropriate young lady Hot! Finally…

Keisha Whitaker was stunning at the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night event. Swathed in a fiery orange-red floor-length gown with a unique, harness-like rhinestone applique, her simple hair and makeup let the dress do the talking for her yet still emphasize her natural beauty. Thoroughly and elegantly Hot!
