Bomb favorite Solange was in SoHo yesterday making her debut as the spokesperson for The Body Shop and MTV‘s “‘Yes, Yes, Yes’ to Safe Sex” campaign. And looking quite Hawt while promoting a fabulous cause:
*Loving* the ripped stonewashed jeans, baggy off-the-shoulder tee layered atop a “Yes Yes Yes” tank, and turquoise peep-toe pumps with playful bows. Her peachy glow and natural lip gloss complement the outfit perfectly. I was on my way to cover this for y’all in-person and was delayed, so I missed seeing Solange and her ensemble. 🙁
The event also served as the launch for The Body Shop’s $8.00 “Yes Yes Yes!” Tantalising Lip Butter, partial sales of which will be donated to MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation, a charity that works worldwide to raise HIV and AIDS awareness among young people. Now that’s truly Hot.
Cop a Tantalising Lip Balm of your own here (I’ve used mine about 4 times since yesterday–fab pomegranate-esque scent and light texture, and moisturizes quite well!).

Hey!
So while I was on vacay with my sis, she couldn’t stop talking about Janelle Monae:
Apparently the Bad Boy crooner is initiating a new soul and fashion movement down south, and I figured, why not look at her style?
Janelle makes waves with menswear inspired blazers and neckties, all topped off with her signature pompadour hairstyle.
A fan of the London aesthetic, Janelle favors riding boots, high waisted pants, and crested, tailored jackets worn with simple accessories like button clip on earrings and pearl studs.
For most events, Janelle sticks to classic black and white, down to her Oxfords, socks, and sunglasses…
But brings in splashes of color for more casual commitments with tie neck blouses, scarfs, and vintage handbags.
I actually really like this song by Janelle Monae:
A few lyrics, “Imma let it go!/Gotta leave my worries behind/Gotta take control!/I just came to have a good time!/Imma let it go, no time for stress on my mind!/Imma lettin go!!!!!/ Oooh Im lettin go!”
Love it.
Adriana here, Bombshells, and I’ve been on a serious jewelry kick of late, especially bib necklaces and vintage clip-on earrings. While perusing the wares at Bluefly’s today-only Tax Relief Sale (extra 10% off *everything*), I found these gorgeous, chunky Kenneth Jay Lane resin bangles in a variety of colors for just $25.20 each:
Our Swagger subject from yesterday got me thinking about adding an ethnic aesthetic to my wardrobe. The look was piping hot on Spring 2009 runways, most notably in Louis Vuitton’s collection:
Bomb Tipster Sarah from Florida says, “I was checking out Forever 21’s website, and they are launching their plus size line, Faith 21, May 1st. There’s a look book on their website as well. The clothes are actually pretty cute.“
Let’s take a look:
