Shots of Kanye’s new Louis Vuitton sneaker ads have hit the web:

It seems Amber Rose was given a top (naked) spot:

I kinda like these ads. Fresh, clean, to the point.
Do you?

This is a perfect summer dress, and at $64 it’s definitely R word resistant. It can also transition from day to night easily just by changing the shoes and accessories.

Where the dress for a daytime date with these options:
Hit the town at night with these:
Y’all, what can I say?
I’m eating up all this new music I’m hearing on ATL radio!
After Soulja Boy my next obsession is the Stanky Leg:

If you’re bored at work or school, learn the dance and teach your friends!
Fun for everyone!
PS I know I’m late on this one, but forgive me! I live in Paris!!
Y’all,
You know how when you come back home instead of relaxing you’re just running around catching up with everybody?? Yeah, that’s how my ATL “vacay” is so far. I’m up mad early, and have to wake up in a few hours to hang with my Dad and sis. Yep. But Mail Bombs still beckon:

I’ll do my very best!
First, absolutely everyone was asking about Beyonce’s burgundy jacket in this picture from a couple weeks ago:

It took us a bit, but we found Bey is wearing this Gucci Spring 2007 jacket (not Rocawear):

I’d go with the $71 option I mentioned here. If not, visit www.gucci.com for price and buying info!
In another jacket Mail Bomb, Talia coveted Serena’s blazer:

She says, “It’s so perfect for the summer!”
Get a Serena striped look with these options:
Sharee says, “I am in love with the sequined tights homegirl on the right has on!”

“Where can I find something similar- please keep in mind I am a broke college student:)“
Adriana says, “These won’t come cheap, unfortunately! Here are two I found on ShopStyle:”
In a wardrobe query, Chanel says, “I’m graduating with my BA in one month (whoo hoo!) and need a fabulous dress to wear as I walk across the stage. Being in black all day will just bore me and graduating in Spring in Florida just screams “wear color”! Any suggestions?”
Try these options that will reflect the Florida sun while also sticking to a somewhat conservative dress code:
Deidre says, “I am a fashion merchandising major and graduation is very near. I have a series of interviews lined up, but it’s sad to say I don’t know what to wear because the fashion industry jobs are not geared to the typical standard black business suit and white dress shirt. Please help guide me into the right direction with out looking too “extra”.”
These days I’m a fan of traditional with a twist, mainly focusing on hot shoes and bags. Go with a somewhat straight and narrow white top and black bottom with fashion focused (but not over the top) accessories:
Also check out our work wardrobe topic for other ideas!
Lastly, Jewel from New Orleans says, “I’ve got a semi-date in a couple of weeks. My interest invited me to watch him play in a golf qualifiers tourney. I have no idea what the crowd looks like! When I asked him what to wear, he said “be casual”. Could you please give me some fashion advice? I would like to look fabulously-casual (i.e., stand out just enough, without being too glam for a 100 degree day).”
Hey Jewel! I don’t know much about golf, but I do know that it’s a pretty preppy sport! Stand out on a hot day in a Polo or Lacoste shirt with crisp shorts and a wedge heel if you want a bit of height. If you’re more of a casual girl, switch out the wedges for a bright patent flat and top everything off with understated accessories like pearl or diamond studs. Try these:
That does it!
I’m absolutely delirious but hopefully I can find time to update during the day today…
Until then…
Smootches!
A few days ago New York Magazine gracefully linked to The Fashion Bomb’s story on Vogue’s Third Consecutive Issue Featuring Women of Color:

Vogue diversifying their covers was great news to me, especially since I attended all of Bethann Hardison’s Town Hall Meetings agitating for a more inclusive, diverse fashion industry. I’m elated of the changes taking place as I’ve documented them from the beginning!
What I thought was a celebratory observation was suddenly construed as ‘racist’ by NY Mag commenters, who felt that mentioning race was silly and perpetuated hate.
A few comments:
“How fantastic, such a beautiful cover with diverse interesting faces. So please lets not make this about the colour of their skin! How about just appreciating it for what it is? A multi freaking model cover from US Vogue!!”—Fahra
“Fahra’s right. I hope there won’t be any skin tone issue about this cover. Just welcome the comeback of models on the cover.“–Frigidbardot
“I’m more happy that models are on the cover and not a celeb! I’m also actually annoyed that fashion blogs/site feel the need to point out the fact that someone black is on the cover. It’s on the tone of ” I’m not racist I have black friends” ANNOYING! Seriously as a black women it’s annoying this should be something that becomes quietly apart of our culture that women of all colors are placed on magazines.”-–bastylefilegirl
“Uh … Hasn’t Liya Kebede been on the cover of American Vogue twice before? Why are people making it a big deal? Liya has been in the business forever & has graced the cover of pretty much every major magazine … Stop trying to turn it into a color debate as usual!”-–laz1
I look at the Fashion Bomb the same way you could look at Essence or Latina Magazine. Anyone and everyone is welcome, but there is a multicultural focus. What’s the big deal? I also think that for a long time, so called ‘mainstream’ publications unapologetically lacked color and eschewed diversity. But instead of that being called racist, it’s called normal.
Are ethnic blogs and publications racist? Or are we simply catering to a vibrant yet underserved demographic?

Lusted over Louboutins? Obsessed over Oscar? Cyberstore Net-A-Porter recently launched a new lower priced outlet site called The Outnet, where you can get 3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo and McQueen for as much as 50% off retail!

Check out the options at www.theoutnet.com.
Macy’s tapped the uber talented Rachel Roy to design an exclusive lower priced line called Rachel Rachel Roy:

She says, “This line is the younger sister to the Rachel Roy collection. It has the same designer sensibility but with a younger feeling.” The collection, which will hit stores in August, includes clothing and accessories.
What great news!
I have a few Rachel Roy pieces I snagged at a sample sale, but her stuff is no joke! I think I bought a shirt of hers on deep discount for $150. So…very glad for the lower priced line.
Check out a few looks:

WWD credits blogs like Hypebeast and Kicksonfire for helping Kanye’s Air Yeezy’s sell out in stores:

They say, “When hip-hop star Kanye West released his limited edition Air Yeezy sneaker for Nike earlier this month, it ignited a wave of collective hysteria among sneakerheads –those guys with the ardor for branded footwear usually associated with Imelda Marcos or Carrie Bradshaw– that saw them camped out in front of stores overnight to get their hands on the rare designs. Needless to say, the sneakers have sold out and are now being offered on eBay for upward of $700.”

The article goes on to state that blogs are key with one off collections like these. They say, “There was a time when magazines would bring us up to date once a month, but nowadays everything moves 10 times as fast and blogs serve as the only means fast enough to keep us on point.”
Interesting. Read the rest here.
Hey!
So if you’re wondering why I was in Chicago, I came to watch the Oprah Winfrey Show:

To be honest, one of my goals this year was to meet Oprah. Why? She’s a tremendous inspiration and I hope to one day be a brilliant multimedia afficionado like her, juggling books, shows, and products. Thankfully I found a way to arrange for tickets to the show–little did I know my contact would seat me front row and center. Yes! I was literally two feet away from Lady O, close enough to oggle her hot Dior platform pumps!

I wish I could have taken pictures inside, but they took everything–writing materials, cameras, phones–away. With no snapping inside the studios, my hopes to get a pic with ‘The Boss’ were quickly dashed once we slid past security.
I’m glad for the experience and hope to meet her legit like at another time (I had thoughts of being a Stan and just running up to her, but didn’t feel like getting carted out by security!). I’d love for her to bestow a bit of knowledge on me–it would mean the world!
Until then I’m off to ATL to hang with the fam and friends.
Bisous!
*Tune into Oprah on Monday April 20th. You might catch a glimpse of me on TV!
Natasha over at the YBF pointed out that ex Danity Kane member Dawn Richard is a huge fan of recycling outfits:

The stylista chose to wear basically the same ensemble to the King Magazine Party on February 24th and a few days ago to the Day 26 Album Release party.
Look, I’m a recessionista, and have of course shopped my closet for many events. If I can make an outfit or dress look markedly different by adding a belt, or changing a top or shoes, I do it–it’s silly and irresponsible to buy a new oufit for every occasion.
But in this case, Dawn seemed to lack any sort of imagination. Though she added a jacket and changed her shoes, her overall look is still the same. And I know that if she’s rocking $1,000 Louis V Spicy Sandals and Balenciaga Escarpin Booties, homegirl can splurge on a new dress!
What do you think?
