Hey Bombshells,
Spring weather is anything but predictable, but this weekend’s celeb fashions? I’ve never seen so many of the fashionable play it so safe all at once. Makes me long for the days of Demi Moore’s spandex shorts at the Oscars…let’s take a gander and see if you agree?
Model-mogul Tyra Banks sashayed onto the red carpet at The New York Times’ Sunday With the Magazine event wearing a sleeveless caramel colored Black Halo Jackie O Dress with matching peep-toe pumps. Her subtle makeup and the pop of color from her ring enhance the look (is it just me, or is she also looking a bit more svelte here?), and she’s quite well put together for an appearance at a cultural gig. A simmering Hot.
Further south at Churchill Downs, Gabrielle Union stuck to her usual red carpet black ensemble and rocked a strapless satin sheath, platform sandals, and oversized derby hat. While it’s hard for Gabrielle not to look lovely, this look is a bit boring and could use more punching up to go with the formal yet festive attire the Kentucky Derby is known for. Certainly not a Hmm, but not sure it’s a total Hot, either…
Is there a weekend after which we haven’t featured Kim K.? Her eye-catching fashion sense is almost always Hot or Hmm-worthy, and the outfit she chose for the Derby is just fab. The sleeveless white sheath, black lace gloves, and dove gray chapeau with netting are elegant yet fun, and something I’d have loved to wear while sipping a mint julip and taking in the races. Loves it, and a definite hawt!
Back in NYC, Ciara came out to support the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women charity in black skinny jeans, a cropped gunmetal windbreaker, and black leather boots with pink soles. I’m not sure if Ci-Ci performed but everyone else who was photographed at this event had on their running shoes and exercise pants. And even though it’s always better to dress up than down, those boots are in violation of Vuitton’s “elf shoes” edict, which I wholeheartedly agree with. Hmm…
Finally, at the Rally for Kids With Cancer soiree, Eva Longoria-Parker channeled her inner Holly Golightly with a strapless black-and-white A-line dress paired with what’s becoming a celeb staple, YSL’s back patent platform pumps. A girlish, adorable look for the normally sexy “Housewife”–innocently Hot…
While there was not a hot mess among the ladies and no one looked less than passable, is it just me or were the fashionable a bit too low-key this weekend?
~Adriana
