Top Row: $960, $990.

Bottom Row: $870, $870.

The recession clearly means nothing to a millionaire like Kanye, but I have a feeling guys will be shelling out the dough to rock these shoes.

Trend: Add a Pop of Color

Hey Fashion Bombers!

Vuitton here with another trend essential needed to liven up your spring wardrobes: bright color!

After a rough day at school and walking past students and professors dressed in mundane shades of brown, it was time for my daily YouTube comedy fix.  Luckily, for all of us, I stumbled upon some videos of Dynasty.  Amid all the name calling and hilarious fake slapping, the use of color in the characters’ wardrobes stood out to me in all the right ways.  And some celebrities have been following suit:

amberkcoordinate2

Though you may not be quite as daring as Amber Rose by adorning yourself in pink leggings and zebra-print accessories, there are ways you can mix colors without looking like you represent the Lollipop Guild.

1. Asos Strapless Tie Front Dress, $62, 2. Forever 21 Faceted Square Clutch, $17. 3. Asos Premium Leather Square Toe Shoe, $105. 4. Forever 21 Mixed Stone Bracelet $9.
If you want to draw attention to one piece, you can do it with a statement clutch like Solange does here with her pink CC Skye studded clutch:

Orange is a totally underrated color, but paired perfectly with black or neutral pieces, you’re sure to have a flattering look!

1. Urban Renewal Vintage Lady’s Blazer $30, 2. Gisela Strapless Dress, $23. 3. Asos Oversized Quilted Clutch, $25, 4. Bakers Erika Gladiator Heel, $70.

For a more subtle approach, you can bring the color to your fingernails.  Rihanna is definitely a fan!

And these hues are very summer appropos…

1. N.Y.C. Times Square in Tangerine Creme, $4. 2. L.A. Girl Flare in Teal, $3. 3. Givenchy Vernis Please! in Maharani Pink, $15. 4. Sephora by OPI Nail Color, $9.
So do you think you’re ready to pump up the color in your wardrobe this season?

Week in Chic: Amber & ‘Ye, Chrisette Michele, Common, NINA SKY

This Week in Chic was all about the perfect small details: Salma’s sexy pop of green, Chrisette’s sassy red nails, Amber’s zebra print clutch, and Solange’s earthy-chic makeup and jewelry. And the fellas didn’t do too badly themselves!

But “Slumdog Millionaire” star Freida Pinto, flawless in Chanel, takes the cake for me.

Splurge of the Day: Medium Editor Suitcase

Hey!

Since Fashion Week is winding down, I decided to take a quick weekend trip to Corsica with my friend. Corsica is the fourth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and is located west of Italy, south of France, and north of the island Sardinia. I can’t wait!

For my trip I’m thinking of investing in a cute carry on like this $250 Medium Editor Suitcase I found on fab website www.vivre.com:

Fun and lightweight, this suitcase adds a bit of style to any travel situation. Plus it’s big enough to stuff your travel essentials, while small enough to fit in an overhead. Cute!

Who Wore it Better? Amber Rose vs. Christina Milian in Louis Vuitton Spicy Sandals

Bottled Blond bombshells have been rocking Louis Vuitton’s Spicy Sandals lately:

christian-amber-louis-vuitton

Ms. Rose added the hot kickers to her Alexander Wang dress, while Christina Milian went for a more laid back look.

Who wore ’em better?

Here’s the collection:

The shoes go for about 995 Euros, which translates roughly to $1,300. If you don’t have a month’s rent to spend, might I suggest considering these $150 Katrin Leather Exotic Sandals

Paris Fashion Week: Les Shoes

Adriana here!

So while Claire is hopping around to shows at Paris fashion week, I decided to give you bombshells the lowdown on the hottest runway shoes for Fall.

Our Spring ’09 Paris Fashion Week shoe roundup was filled with footwear that made you lust for warmer weather and a bigger budget. Fall ’09’s shoes, er…well, at least designers can’t be accused of not taking current times into consideration. Sure, there are some gems, but for the most part designers kept it stark and somber below the knee. Here we go…
Giambattista Valli: fab croco-patterned black platform boots…but a shoe collection heavy on satin for the fall?

giambattista-valli

Givenchy: Probably my favorite of the bunch (although the black boots are somewhat similar to Loboutin’s Forever Tina boot from Fall ’09). The studded sandals are sick!

givenchy

Lanvin: Practical and alive with wearability, certainly, but I can’t muster too much excitement beyond that.

lanvin

Nina Ricci: I don’t see these anywhere beyond the pages of a magazine editorial, a display case at the FIT Museum, or a Sasha Fierce video. They’re fun to look at but suffer from the other extreme you find in a recession: denial!

nina-ricci

Stella McCartney: Again, here the black boots seem the strongest to me (this time with an intricate perforated pattern in the leather). Otherwise…

stella-mccartney

Viktor & Rolf: I’m feeling the sequin boots on the bottom left–the signature, just-right V&R touch of unconventionality. I’d have loved to see the white boots on the top left in a brown leather, though.

viktor-rolf

Yves Saint Laurent : The black suede and washed out teal pumps are the business, and I love how the heel incorporates elements of a wedge, a stiletto, and a platform all in one. Loves!

Michelle Obama on the New Yorker

Michelle Obama adds another tick to her ‘magazine cover’ belt with the New Yorker’s March 16th issue:

michelle-obama-the-na8fbe7

The cartoon portrays Michelle as not only a first lady, but also a fashion plate–which she is!

I LOVE the New Yorker–it’s the only magazine I still have sent to me in Paris. So I will never, ever have anything bad to say about it.

Some people have a problem with the cover, saying it diminishes Michelle’s contributions and character. I think they’re silly.
