…I thought it only fitting that today’s video should be by the songstress herself!
While Kelis might be better known for Bossy or Milkshake, Get Along with You is one of her first singles and I absolutely LOVE IT!
Enjoy!
And holla at Kelis on twitter at www.twitter.com/iamkelis!
First Lady Michelle Obama showed off her amazing arms in Rachel Roy’s Reid Sleeveless Dress at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service yesterday:
The dress is still available and marked down to $597 from $1,195 at Shopbop. Even with the price, I’m sure it will sell out!

Beauty correspondent Eileen hits us up with the following Beauty News:
********************************************************************************* All hail the Queen!
Our favorite actress, singer, and all around mogul Queen Latifah is launching her very own fragrance, aptly titled Queen. The sultry fragrance includes notes of bergamot, mandarin, jasmin, rose, patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla, all bottled up in a super sexy square bottle with a raised heart.
It will be available at Macy’s and Dillards in August. I can’t wait to try this one out!
Until then, check out Latifah’s Queen Collection by Covergirl. It’s specifically for us women of color–makeup artists have confirmed that it truly is amazing! Shades range from Rich Sand to True Ebony so that everyone under the sun can mix and match to perfectly complement their skin tone:

They’re fashion forward, yet the contrast laces and an extra-padded tongue give the shoes a retro feel. Leather lined for comfort, the hi-tops have a leather insole and rubber sole. Get your splurge worthy shoes for $500 at www.oki-ni.com.
Seemingly made with the working woman in mind, his line contains a mixture of shifts, cap sleeve dresses and pencil skirts in earthy tones like forest green and plum. While I do see a few contemporary accents to his collection in the accessories–a black hobo with a red starburst design and a slick looking leather and suede purse–this first attempt seems dated…as if his father made it for him.
After completing internships at Phat Farm, I was expecting something more edgy, especially for someone his age! What do you think?
This weekend’s Hot or Hmm roundup is an international affair, with stops in Canada, South Africa, and the ATL. The fashionable were definitely racking up the frequent flyer miles–let’s take a gander at what they packed with them?
MJB hit the stage at Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash in uber-distressed jeans, black tank, and some major platform sandals. Given that this was mostly a rap concert, Mary’s outfit is both laid-back Hot and appropriate for the queen of Hip-Hop and R&B Soul…
Swinging up north Vuitton’s way, Kim K. and Reggie Bush hit up the Much Music Awards in Toronto in very Will and Jada-like color coordinated-outfits. Kim’s strapless black and white striped number and Louboutin platform heels are fab but not feeling her hair and makeup so much this time around–is it just me or are they sort of washed out and plain? Reggie looks cool as a fan but the white jacket seems one layer too many, and he’d have looked better with just the black shirt on its own. A lukewarm Hot for the usually smokin’ couple.
Halfway across the globe in Johannesburg at the ARISE Africa Fashion Awards, ARISE Designer of the Year Folake Folarin-Coker quietly dazzled in this banded teal frock with a 1930s feel. Although I’d have loved to see her with more dramatic hair and makeup, the dress alone is fantastic, and experiments with bands and folds beyond the usual Herve Leger take on them. Quite hawt!
Also at the ARISE Awards, designer Abama Kai stunts in a drop-waisted, one-shoulder floral number in bold colors. Her side-swept locks, eye-catching, white earrings, and festive clutch complete the ensemble, and despite the brilliant colors and textures, there’s also something simple and elegant about it. Simmering hot…
Finally, celebrity choreographer Fatima Robinson surfaced at Will.I.Am.’s This is London Party rocking a “Grease”-inspired look in ’50s style hip-huggers and puff-sleeve sweater and fire engine red lipstick and nails. Her netted hat, Goyard clutch, and chunky rings lend the outfit an edgy, modern look that keep the ’50s pieces from being too cutesy. Loves it!

Partner site Swagger is currently kicking it in NYC, and sent us this picture of street fashionista Radio Rose:
Repping NYC, Radio Rose keeps it colorful in a vintage dress, American Apparel cardigan, and Keds sneaks. She looks super cute, but I particularly like her big hair, purse, and earrings:
Yes, she’s rocking an earlace that she made herself! What’s chicer than making your own funky accessories? And the nameplate necklace? Done!
What do you think of this edition of Swagger?
