Fashion Bombshell of the Day : Zeina from Miami

Hey Guys!

Welcome to another week of Fashion Bomb reader fabulousness!
Today, we’re featuring Zeina, a bombshell from Miami, Florida by way of Zimbabwe. She says, “I’m a Music major turned fashion merchandising major. I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and we African women LOVE to look good!”

Zeina Zimbabwe

She continues, “People always want to highlight the bad things about Africa, but don’t realize a lot of fashion comes from there! If you go to South Africa, the men and women are so creative in their style mixing classic pieces with items of the moment. In Western Africa like Nigeria and Senegal the women look good even if just going to the market decked out in beautiful real gold  jewelry and traditional garments! I swear whenever I go home I’m in a fashion show!

Zeina-from-Zibabwe

Sounds cool–makes me want to travel to Africa and look around!

In the meantime, what do you think of her style?

Hot! or Hmm…: Genevieve Jones, Beyonce, Christina Milian, Vivica Fox, and more!

This weekend was all about the grown and sexy, and we’re featuring quite a few fab women who show us how to grow gracefully fashion-wise! Let’s take a look?

genevieve_jones_all_points_west_afterparty

Gal-about-town Genevieve Jones popped up at Columbia Records’ All Points West afterparty in a short tank jumper paired with mid-calf suede boots. Loving her bronze glow and loose, wavy locks but I’m not a convert yet to the whole “boots in summer” movement and this outfit seems a little too off-kilter and unexciting, Hmm…

beyonce_las_vegas_concert_wynn

The hardest working woman in showbiz, Beyoncé, opened the Las Vegas leg of her tour this weekend at the Wynn and used the chance to showcase some new Sasha Fierce threads. The structured jacket piece worn over a blue-grey leotard looks quite similar to one of the silhouettes she rocked in the “Diva” video, which I love for the dramatic take it gives on her natural hourglass shape, and the pop of red lipstick and tilted eyeline only enhances the dramatic look–loves. Mrs. Carter keeps giving ’em major fashion on this tour…

chilli_nbaf_midsummer_gala

Ageless wonder and R&B star Chilli attended NBAF’s Midsummer Gala in the ATL wearing a darling little halter maxi dress with paisley print. Her simple wavy hair and thong sandals are subtle enough to let the dress make most of her fashion statement yet lend the outfit a casual-cool edge. Quite cute for the former TLC member!

vivica_fox_birthday_party_toronto

Normally, I’m not a huge fan of Vivica Fox’s style but I must say that with this outfit, homegirl is giving lessons on how to be in your 40s and fab, which she celebrated at her birthday party in Toronto this weekend. Her tangerine baby-doll dress is the perfect combo of flirty and sexy, not to mention her fab tribal platforms and coordinated gold jewelry. Liking her tumble of long curls and warm peachy makeup, too–nicely done for Ms. Fox…

jodi_watley_bb_king_concert

Speaking of ageless wonders, Ms. Jodi Watley gave a concert at B.B. King’s in NYC this weekend looking fabulous. A little Vegas, a little Studio 54, with a pop of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” thrown in (that glove and bracelets!), she sparkled in a sequin top, body-hugging Lycra pants, and her trademark oversize hoops. Loved her back when she was Lookin’ for a New Love and love her now–fierce!

christina_milian_bring_it_on_premiere

Christina Milian kept the sequin trend going at the “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish” premiere in a slinky mini caftan number with a colorful graphic design. Again, here’s a great example of allowing a flashy piece to speak for itself and striking a balance with subtle pieces: her basic black pumps, sleek hair, and strategic pop of pink add dimension to the outfit without overwhelming her centerpiece, the dress. Sweet style for La Milian 🙂
What say y’all, Bombshells?

He razzled and dazzled you guys during our intern contest, and has shown amazing innovation and creativity with his Rip the Runway posts and styling articles. He became one year wiser and more fabulous on Saturday, and we’re so happy he’s on our team!

Let’s all wish him a Happy Belated Birthday!

Video : Too Late by One Republic featuring Timbaland

Hey!

So in my travels, I run into several friendly people, including Dana, a customer service rep from LAX. We started chatting while waiting for our plane, and in our convo she confessed her love of this song, Too Late by One Republic featuring Timbaland:

Apologize One Republic featuring Timbaland

This song speaks to a situation she’s going through. I personally love the beat Timbaland threw on this ballad–this song is one of his greatest collaborations outside of the typical ‘hip-hop’ genre.

Enjoy!

Rip the Runway: Bottega Veneta vs Kate Spade

For this edition of ‘Rip the Runway’ we’re featuring Bottega Veneta’s Impero Satin Clutch and Kate Spade’s Cozumel Eglantine:

BV-vs-Kate-Spade

It’s hard to tell who inspired whom, but the similarities are evident with both styles’ woven pattern and gold clasps.  While Bottega Veneta’s Miniaudiere rocks it with satin, Kate Spade’s Cozumel Eglantine is made of woven rattan.

Both hot purses, but Kate Spade wins with a price tag of $244. Get yours here:

Fashion Bombshell of the Week Is…

Cypher from NYC!

Cypher

This young mommy won you over by a landslide, taking 53% of all your votes.

When she first submitted her picture, she didn’t mention her name, so I went by her e-mail, which included the word Cypher. Turns out this bombshells’ name is actually Stacey and she hails from Brooklyn….. Thanks for your submission!

Stay tuned this week for even more Fashion Bomb Reader Fabulousness!

“She has a gorgeous grey shawl at the end which converts to a hood. Do you have any idea who the designer is, or if anyone else is making something similar?”
What a cute commercial! Not sure of who the exact designer is, but you can get Mary’s look with this $168 Juicy Couture Oversized Wrap Cardigan:

The ribbed shawl collar can be pulled up into a hood for a similar MJB steeze.

Leah says, “I’m feeling this jumper Fergie is wearing in this pic!”

Fergie Boxing Kitten

“…The bold prints & colors make it pop and it’s different from a lot of jumpers I’ve seen. Who makes it?

Fergie is rocking a romper by Fashion Bomb friend, Boxing Kitten:

Now for a few wardrobe queries!

Emma Watson Harry Potter London Premiere

“..Its a vintage Ozzie Clark dress that is bad to the bone… and way out of my price league!! Could you help me find a similar style in a basic black? The wedding pics will thank you!!”
Adriana found this option for your big day:

Ashley says, “Help! I bought these shorts for my Birthday party…”

Hot Pants

“…Please help me assemble some party looks that work well with the shorts!”
Vuitton says, “I pieced together a look for you that will make those shorts pop–hope you like it!”

Lastly, Cindy says, “I am a 20 year old Nursing student (only one more year left aoowwwwwwwwww!). I consider myself a rather fashionable sort, but as a college student, I have to find ways to be fabulous on a budget. Most of the time I can work it out, but one particular item has managed to elude me : open toe booties. I looooove these kind of shoes, but I can’t seem to find any that are in my budget, ($50 bucks and below- – especially below!) Could you please use your sleuthing skills to help me out?

Hey Cindy! We, too, had a bit of trouble finding cute open toes booties under $50! We found plenty of options under $100…if you’re willing to spend about $5-$30 more, you can get the look:

I’m off to max and relax. Have amazing weekends, we’ll see you on Monday.

Smootches!
