When I was a young bombshell, I was a huge fan of Michael Jackson. I remember dancing with my mom and brother to the Thriller album in our Living Room, loving the moment so much that I even immortalized it for the ages, proudly holding up the cover as a testament:

Since then, I feel like I’ve grown up with Michael.
I remember when “Bad” debuted on NBC, watching crazed fans scream “He Waved to Me!!” on tributes, and even when “Black or White” and “Scream” came out.
What are you fave MJ memories?

I went on WireImage.com, and caught pictures of fans mourning and celebrating Michael Jackson’s life and career:

For those who are yearning for our regular fare, we did solve a handful of Mail Bombs for ya!
First it seems everyone is going to Beyonce’s concert!

Sam from Miami says, “I’ll be attending Beyonce’s concert this summer and I have no idea what to wear and what kind of look I want to go for? Every time I go to shop I ask myself should I wear heels? Flats? Sneakers? Jeans? Pants? Cute girly top? Or a graphic tee? I’m so confused can you set me up with a look i can mimic for the concert?!”
Hey Sam! You should definitely go with flats and jeans, as you’ll most likely be standing up and dancing a lot of the night and you want to be comfortable! As for what you’ll wear on top, you can go for girly or graphic depending on your personality…but it’s Beyonce, so get some sparkle going!
Try these:
Jamaka says, “I am in DESPERATE need of these shoes or something similar!!! I cannot afford the Chanel version (obviously ), but I would love to have a pair of these!!! Can you please help me???!!!!!!!”

Adriana says, “No knockoffs that I could find just yet, but if a gun heel is what you’re craving, here are a couple of options way below Chanel price“:
Lastly, Necole says, “I need your help…so here goes! Ok, I bought some denim leggings from Aldo today and I need ideas on how to wear them. I gotta stop the impulse purchases LOL!”
Adriana says, “Congrats on the purchase! I’m a fan of leggings, and an even bigger fan of “classing them up” with bold flats, over-the-bum-tunics and tees, and smart boyfriend jackets. Here are some suggestions in that vein:”
That does it for today!
If we didn’t get to your question today, check back next week when we’ll be back to our normal schedule.

Studded blazers seem to be all the rage since Balmain’s Spring 09 collection, but judging from their whopping price tags, it wouldn’t be too soon before the “inspiration” kicked in. Enter Zara’s studded blazer. Apart from the difference in texture with Balmain’s being leather and the difference in studs, they’re pretty similar. But I must say that Zara did a pretty neat job, both with tailoring and pricing it heaps lower than its predecessor. Too bad Zara doesn’t have an online store. Money aside, which do you prefer?

There weren’t a ton of events this week–perhaps the celebs are saving their energy for this weekend’s BET awards?
At any rate, there were a few instances of chic:

It’s hard to choose, but Tamia (top row middle) gets my vote. Nothing looks cooler than a summer fedora and white shorts suit!
What do you think?
We’ve professed our love of Tracee Ellis Ross‘ style on the FB before but I especially love how she puts her summer evening looks together: chic, uncomplicated, and with a touch of the bohemian and vintage.

I especially *heart* that she’s feminine without being frou-frou (girl after my own heart), and for summer that can be hard to pull off in the sea of ruffles, flowers, and pink that accompany the season. She seems to prefer abstract yet clean lines, vibrant prints that catch the eye instead of overwhelm it, and strategically placed pops of color that make you look twice. It’s a cultivated, smart, signature style all her own (it probably didn’t hurt having Mama Diana’s closet to learn from growing up). 😉
Channel Tracee’s sophisticated summer sensibility with any of these pieces, *almost* all for under $100!
