Like any other fashion crazed youth, I’m obsessed with Gossip Girl. While the plot interests me to some degree, the styling is simply beyond. Hence when I saw Serena sauntering the streets of NYC in this gorgeous Alexander Wang dress, my heart skipped a beat.
Jewel tones are great for transitioning from one season to the next, and the asymmetric silhouette is all the rage right now. It rings in at $592, and you can get it here. It may not be available online, but if you’re interested, call the store.
This minaudiere is definitely for the girl with lots of spunk who isn’t afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve. All she has to do is take out the long chain strap and sling it on her shoulder.
The rich satin color also gives it somewhat of a romantic appeal. If you like all things whimsical, get it here. And the great part about it is it’s only $50. Tres bien, no?
With boots of all styles being such a trend this season, it would be soon before long when different designers would start seeking “inspiration” from each other. Givenchy starts the race with its Lace-up Textured Leather boots while Topshop’s AVA Shiny Lace Up Hiker Boot comes in a close second.
Although it’s almost identical to Givenchy’s (with the exception of its textured sole and buckle near the peep-toe) Topshop’s version is obviously cheaper at $190. Though the Givenchy’s ring in at $995, there’s somethng that I appreciate more about them. It may be the hidden platform that makes it look more chic and less “guerilla warfare.”

It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a Style File!
We’ve highlighted everyone from Kelis to Kerry Washington, but it seems there are always rising style stars waiting in the wings. Today, we’ll take a look at….
…Paula Patton!
The fabulous actress, wife to Robin Thicke, and stunning beauty has been increasing her red carpet sizzle with an onslaught of lovely dresses and separates in flattering fits.
For the evening Paula pulls out all the stops, flaunting her frame in cherry red gowns and cocktails in sequined ivory…
….always set off by metallic clutches, waist cinching belts, and the occasional statement necklace. While she tends to stick to a solid color palette, she does love her patterns, and rocks everything from snake skin to florals with flavor and pinache:
While Ms. Patton may have a thing for prints, nothing can top her affinity forruffles! You’ll see her in dresses in black and white, covered in frothy flourishes that highlight her indisputable femininity:
And for casual commitments, she goes for girly opting for short skirts and ruffle tops, accented with boyfriend blazers and black sandals:
Super cute!
If you want a Paula Patton essence, go for these fun frocks and heels:
WWD reports that Nicole Richie is launching a new contemporary line called Winter Kate:
In the article she says, “It feels as though I’ve always been working on this collection, but officially I started putting it together in early 2009. I’ve wanted to design a clothing collection for a very long time.” The line includes mostly tops, vests and bed jackets in colorful vintage-inspired silk, crepe and chiffon and will range from $35 wholesale for a camisole to as much as $598 for the leather pieces. Apparently she created the line with the recessionista in mind, saying, “Fashion should be accessible. That was my philosophy when designing House of Harlow 1960 and remains my philosophy for Winter Kate.”
Cute!
