Hot! or Hmm… : Rachel Roy at The Cinema Society Screening Of “The Young Victoria”

Rachel Roy The Cinema Society Screening Of "The Young Victoria"

Rachel Roy came out last night for The Cinema Society Screening Of “The Young Victoria” in a floral mini dress and chic trench worn with shimmer tights and boots. To play up her colorful frock, she rocked a candy pink clutch and opted for a dark red lip and sultry smoky eyes. Rachel Roy is consistently impeccable, but something about this choice gave me pause. Perhaps it’s the sheen of the tights? Or the ‘done’ makeup?

What do you guys think? Hot! Or Hmmm….

Mail Bombs : Teyana Taylor’s Stud Leather Jacket, Rachel Roy’s Louis Vuitton Clutch, and 20 Birthday Dresses under $100!

Hey Guys!
So 3 years ago on December 13th, 2006, I received my first Wardrobe Query in my inbox! Since then I’ve tried my very best to provide you guys with wardrobe solutions and celebrity looks for less. Today is no exception!

First up, Adobea says, “I was wondering if you could help me find something similar to the jacket I saw Teyana Taylor wearing at Trina & Nicky Minaj’s birthday bash recently.”

“…I MUST have it, lol.”

Hey! The closest I could find to her cream leather studded stunner was this $330 option from Topshop:

The jacket is more simple, and therefore more versatile’s than Teyana’s choice. Purchase here.

Nikki says, “Can you tell me who makes Rachel Roy’s clutch? I also saw it in another color in yesterday’s Week in Chic...”

“I need it!!!”

Rachel and Tallulah Adeyemi both chose Louis Vuitton’s Coquette Clutch from its Fall 2009 Runways:

Now for some wardrobe queries!
First Arielle says, “I just bought a black boyfriend jacket with a lace inset on the back…what can I pair this piece with?”
Take a cue from Alicia Key’s American Music Awards performance outfit and pair your lace inset black jacket with skinny black pants and gladiator heels:

Synim says, “ I’m having a Birthday Party/Event at a jazz club with a live performance and would like to get some suggestions on a cute dress, shoes and handbag (that won’t break the bank). I want to be sexy and stand out because after all, it is my special day!!!”
We found 20 dress options for you under $100 and threw in a few shoe and clutch options for good measure:

Lastly, Fatimah says, “In February I’m going to Trinidad for Carnival (woot woot!) and I’m playing mas, meaning I’ll be in a sexy little costume dancing all day for 2 days straight! When I went in ’08 I noticed lots of women wore boots they decorated to match with their costumes. I’m completely into this trend and I’m thinking it would be a good alternative to sneakers. I’m challenging you to find some shoes or boots that will set off my red, sari-inspired costume.
Junkanoo-Costume
” Also, all shoes must be flat (2 days of dancing does not equal heels), comfy, and under $100.”
Hey! Sounds like fun. I’ve been to Junkanoo in the Bahamas, so am pretty sure I know what you’re going for. The best I could find were these $82 Adele Leather Suede Pixie Boots from ASOS:

Get the Look : Dirty Money

Dirty-Money-Get-the-Look

While the jury’s still out on Dirty Money’s musical prowess, it’s pretty clear their sense of style is on point. The group stepped out in an assortment of outfits, all anchored by ubiquitous black fabulousness. Diddy wore all black simply accented with patent leather sneakers and a silver cross. Ladies Kalenna and Dawn stood out thanks to their dope hairstyles, lace up boots, and details like fringes and ruffles. Get their look below:
