Seems like a few of our fab bombshells made their way to Letterman this week! It was Leona Lewis’ turn, and she rocked a very laid back, rock star chic ensemble. The over-the-knee boots are to die for and so is that Stella McCartney Falabella Bucket Bag.Â
Love the look? Get it for less than Leona’s purse below:
2008 witnessed Obama-mania, as designers like Sonia Rykiel, Rachel Roy, and Zac Posen fashioned stylish t-shirts and dresses supporting the election of our new President.
In 2009, however, Barack was eclipsed in the fashion department by his fabulously down to earth yet effortlessly chic wife, Michelle.
Michelle’s style from inauguration to the G20 summit and beyond has spawned lookbooks and blogs, and sent J.Crew’s stock skyward thanks to her propensity for their cashmere cardigans and pencil skirts. Most notable for her patronage of younger designers, she has worn everyone from Jason Wu to Thakoon to Sophie Theallat.
Let’s take a look at some of her best looks:
She dazzled at Barack’s inauguration in January, slipping on an Isabel Toledo coat, Nina Ricci sweater, and Jimmy Choo heels.
And celebrated that night in an ethereal Jason Wu creation with jewelry by Loree Rodkin.
As she began to settle into her White House life, she also began to settle into her personal style, which quickly became defined by pencil skirts, kitten heels, and cardigans set off by waist cinching belts.
Though she did diverge from the norm at times, choosing showstoppers like this vibrant dress by Stevie Wonder’s wife, Kai Milla…
Colorful creations like this dress by Jason Wu….
… Conversation pieces like this oft asked about Basso & Burke blouse…
…And saucy shifts like this ravishing red Moises de la Renta…
She generally kept it classy yet pretty in prim J.Crew separates and demure heels…
And playful shirtdresses like this number by Sophie Theallat.
Whether in floor length gowns or comfy sneakers, Michelle has brought a renewed flavor to the White House, and created the biggest fashion furor over a First Lady I’ve ever personally seen.
As the winter becomes more frightful, tons of celebs are pulling out warm items to stave off the chill. Last night Kimora and Rihanna opted for fur, with Rihanna working an oversize fur hat, and Kimora wearing a light brown fur for a red carpet event.
All you have to do is click on Peta’s website to get the lowdown on the cruelty involved with the creation of fashionable fur items. But some people simply turn a blind eye to the practice–I mean if we eat animals, then why not wear them?
It’s a debate that’s raged on for years in the fashion industry, and now I’m bringing it to you, fair Bombshells. When it comes to fashion: to fur or not to fur?
Though they each succeeded individually by scoring international and domestic covers and editorials, these four glamazons looked most flawless when together. In 2009 they compiled an amazing body of work, shooting with the best photographers and magazines in the industry.
Let’s take a look at a few highlights from this year:
Chanel and Jourdan kicked off the year with a designer filled shoot for Vogue’s January 2009 issue shot by David Sims.
In May, Jourdan joined veteran Liya Kebede for a model themed cover for Vogue.
And inside, Chanel and Arlenis posed for Patrick Demarchelier with their boyfriends, Tyga and Rene Rodriguez.
September saw all four girls posing for Edward Enninful’s I-D Magazine.
That same month Chanel and Arlenis both appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, posing for Peter Lindbergh in a Harlem Renaissance themed editorial called, “And all That Jazz.“
In October Chanel and Sessilee joined forces for an Allure Magazine ‘Bombshells’ shoot.
Chanel and Jourdan collaborated with Craig McDean for Vogue’s October Issue.
Finally, covergirls Chanel and Jourdan looked pretty and fresh for Teen Vogue’s November issue.
It’s been an amazing year for our brown skinned beauties! Here’s to their continued success in 2010!

The French brand was founded in 1952, but has been getting major shine lately thanks to trendsetters like Kanye, Tyrese, and Wale rocking their down jackets and vests.
Of course as with anything rapper related, Moncler’s are expensive. They range in price from $400 for a vest to $1300 for a jacket. Yikes!
But I’m sure they’re super warm. Take a look at options and colors here:
For today’s Style Inspiration, we went for a look perfect for a lady living life like it’s golden. Sip champagne in a sultry gold dress played up with golden accessories, diamonds, and metallic polish.
So after we published pics of Nicki Minaj’s Complex photo shoot, a few eager Fashion Bombers got in touch asking me to do a Style File on the up and coming rap sensation. One particular fan, Francesca, said, “Thank God for Nicki Minaj! It’s so refreshing to see some originality in style and music. I LOVE HER!!!!!”
Of course I had to see what the buzz was about, so took to the ‘net to find some fashionable pictures of Nicki in her myriad outfits. Unfortunately, the only official pix I could find were of the ‘backshot’ variety:
You can barely concentrate on her Louis Vuitton boots with all that derriere/spandex action!
I then took to Twitter to ask people for pix. This is what my tweoples sent in:
Cute, but…tight, low cut, spandexed, and exposed…is this our newest ‘refreshing’ style icon?
She has turned up her chic factor lately, rocking a cute lace dress with electric blue heels for a performance last night with Robin Thicke in NYC:
And snaps to her for pulling off that two tone pink and black hair!
But in general, her Rated R style is too reminiscent of Lil Kim to bode well.
Actress Zoe Saldana looked classic and simple for a recent appearance at the David Letterman show in NYC. Eschewing the ‘no whites after Labor Day’ rule, she rocked a pair of skinny white jeans with platform black stiletto pumps, an oversized gray top, and a navy blue blazer. To guard against the chill, she slipped on a chunky wool black scarf.
Her look is easy to achieve with these affordable separates:

As an aside, doesn’t Zoe seem like she’d be fun to hang out with?
She’s got a sense of humor and great style! Source
