Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Katherine from Colorado

I’m in photo shoot heaven right now, so decided to bring you our Bombshell a little early.
Today I give you Katherine, a diva from Denver, Colorado by way of Accra, Ghana:

She was actually nominated by her friend Akua, who says, “I met her while I was an undergrad, she was getting her masters.”

” We quickly bonded over our love for our motherland of Ghana and fashion.”

” She is such an all-round intelligent, fashionable, and lovely person who looks fly everyday-even at the gym!”

” I would say that her style encompasses many bold African prints, big chunky statement pieces (necklaces,) and her signature frames.”

“… As of 2011-she is officially a diplomat!”

Beauty and brains to match? Can’t beat that!

Today’s Bombshell, Doyin, hails from Dublin, Ireland.

She says, “I live in Dublin and I love fashion but there’s no one here to really compliment you when you get all dressed.”

“I would be over the moon if you uploaded my pictures on The Fashion Bomb.”

“Please, Thank you.”

“Doyin from DUBLIN….”

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Kimee from South Carolina

Today we’re taking a detour from our regular DMV divas with Kimee from Charleston, South Carolina:

She says, ” I studied fashion in undergrad and I’m the assistant fashion editor of Mwari Magazine blog.mwarimag.com

“My style can be best described as follows: I don’t dress for men or attention, I curate looks for fashion.”

“…I’ve always expressed myself through fashion, growing up my father called me Freddy from the hit TV series “A Different World.”

My friends call me the anti-blogger because I follow select fashion bloggers. I’m not interested in Prada/Gucci sending modelesque citizens free clothing to promote, I’m only interested in true fashion sites especially those that promote the African Diaspora. Kudos to the Fashion Bomb team.

“My style icons are Solange Knowles, Ms. Diana Ross, the fierce Grace Jones, the fabulous June Ambrose, and Chloe Sevigny.”

“I live for unique pieces, so I either make them myself or vintage shop. For me vintage/thrifting hunting can be described as the NEW BLACK, check out my “how to vintage shop” video via thefeast.com.”

“I may sound incredibly narcissistic but I’m really a small town, humble gal.”

Thanks for the kudos, Kimee, you look fab!

Our polling system is down (again, grrr!), so leave a comment with your thoughts on Kimee’s style.

Style Diary: Optic White and Candy Stripes

Last night I had a few events to go to downtown, so decided to try out my new white kimono sleeve dress by Ashtyn.

The sleeves are totally fun, and the fit and cut can work for anything from a cocktail party to a yacht cruise (cue the I’m on a Boat song).

I accessorized with ‘Fandango’ earrings by Peace Images

…and candy striped Christian Louboutin slingbacks.

Not to be overlooked: my Tiedra the Tigress bracelet fashioned by fellow blogger Jessie Adore.

I’ve gotta admit. I wasn’t 100% sure with this outfit. I never wear big earrings and the all white + billowing sleeves seemed like…a lot.

Still, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Sometimes you have to take risks, right?

What do you think?

*Like my Peace Images earrings? We’re giving a pair away later today. Stay tuned.

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Emma from Maryland

Today we have yet another DMV diva: Emma from White Marsh, Maryland.

She says, “I studied Interior Design at American Intercontinental Of Atlanta.”

“…I design funky clutch bags and I am the creator of Elis Vintage where you can get fabulous vintage clothing on line.”

” I love mixing unexpected prints together.”

“My style is chic with a funky twist. I always color outside the lines.”

Gor.geous. If you’re interested in one of Emma’s fab clutches, visit her online store www.elisvintage.com.

” I’m obsessed with standout jewelry and accessories and think that the right ones can make or break any outfit.”

” I used to dress mainly for comfort but now as an entrepreneur, I try to incorporate my jewelry line into most of my outfits, since I’m a direct reflection of my brand!”

Claire’s Life: Norma Kamali Resort 2012 + The Ash Store Opening with Solange and Adrienne Bailon

Hey Bombshells!

I had an action packed evening yesterday. From boutique openings to resort go-sees and mixtape sessions, I did a bit of everything. I only had photographer Marta McAdams with me for the beginning of my day as I took in Norma Kamali’s Resort 2012 collection.

From stretchy cut out swimsuits to striped crop tops, Norma Kamali’s newest venture is geared towards the bold fashionista, unafraid to flaunt her curves in sheer or form fitting garments . For 2012, the Kamali woman is lounging poolside in lacy two piece bikinis, sheer flared pants, and stunningly embellished mesh garments in nude, sable, and steel.

This is how a few pieces look on:

The focus is on the ‘Bombshell’ with maillot silhouettes, frilly mini skirts, and convertible halters.

I can see the collection flattering just about anyone–from svelte divas to more voluptuous vixens. Hot!
After looking at the Resort Collection, I also perused a few items from Spring/Summer 2011:

If this top looks familiar, it’s because Rihanna wore it for a performance on the Today Show:

Norma Kamali is a certified favorite of Fashion Bomb stars like Ciara, Rihanna, and Beyonce. It was fun to see everything up close!

After my quick visit, I was off to a few boutique openings.

See more of Norma Kamali’s collection at www.normakamalicollection.com.

*Marta left me after Norma, but I wish she had stayed around! I went to the opening of the new Ash boutique at 44 Mercer in Soho and snapped a twitpic with homie Solange….

And Adrienne Bailon

*I actually shot video at another opening for a boutique called Blake Scotland. Stay tuned for the relaunch of Fashion Bomb TV (hopefully) this Friday.
