Claire’s Life: Polish Bar of Brooklyn’s 5th Year Anniversary Party

Happy Friday Bombshells!
Last night I attended the 5th anniversary party for my absolute fave nail salon, Polish Bar of Brooklyn.

The scene was set at 509 Myrtle Avenue, on a saucy rooftop with a view of the city skyline. With beats by DJ CEO, cocktails by X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, and a guest list including Jessica Andrews of Glamazons Blog, Christina of Love Brown Sugar, former Bombshell Blake Von D, Designer Sammy B, and our Beauty correspondent Danielle, the party was sure to pop off!

For the occasion I whipped out my new hot pink perfection skirt by LaQuan Smith along with a simple off-the-shoulder gray H&M conscious collection top and my fave Stuart Weitzman snakeskin Platswoon pumps:

The skirt was doing the most, so I kept accessories simple by adding on an African necklace I hijacked from my sister (shout out to Teri!), a few H&M bangles, a LeSportSac clutch, and Kate Spade sweet nothing studs:

Before I left, I of course had to say hey to Polish Bar owner Tricia Lee, who looked radiant in a strapless belted LBD and glittery hoops.

It was a fun night!

If you’re ever in Brooklyn, Polish Bar is a must stop! They have two locations at 470 Myrtle Avenue and at 641 Vanderbilt Ave. Pop in sometime soon and tell ’em The Fashion Bomb sent ya!
Smootches!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Vega from Atlanta

Though yesterday’s Bomber was super fun, we’re bringing it back to the ladies with Vega from ATL:

She says, “My style is more of something old than new. I’m addicted to vintage clothing and revamping 20+ year old pieces and wearing them with a modern twist.”

“… I’m currently an art major, so I guess I’m just a creative person and fashion is an art form. To me, getting dressed is like grabbing a paintbrush and picking out what masterpiece you’re about to create.”

” I was never in a position where I could afford to go shopping for new clothes all of the time, so thrifting became a way of life.”

“… While other girls spend most of their time at the mall, I spend most of my shopping hours in Goodwill.”

“… Vintage shopping and thrifting may be a little more difficult and take a little bit more time, but you’ll be a unique individual while a bunch of others look exactly like the store mannequin.”

Cute! Wish I could thrift like the best of them. You look great! See Vega’s blog at www.vintagecomplex.blogspot.com.

Fashion Bomber of the Day: Adrian from Indiana

It’s been a little while since we’ve had a male Fashion Bomber, so I thought I’d bring it back with Adrian from Indianapolis, Indiana:

He says, “My style is not something a lot of guys (especially guys my age) are really into, which is what I like most about it–It’s a one-of-a-kind look.”

“… I don’t really shop for labels. I’m more into the quality of the garment and how it will complement my wardrobe.”

“… My fave pieces are my jewelry and my bow tie collection. I’m a huge advocate of men implementing both into their wardrobes.”

“… As a 20-year-old college student I feel the way that someone dresses should be an outward manifestation of an individual’s personality and a story of their progression from boyhood to manhood, not what everyone says is the hottest trend.”

Go ahead and put that college degree to use! Very cute. Photography could be better, but ‘fits are on point. Follow Adrian at @LastKingTrae.

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Linda from Miami

Today’s Bombshell, Linda from Miami, opened her e-mail to us by saying she was, “A Fashion Bombshell for any shape, color, or size.”

She continued, “My style is… fun and flattering. It varies with my mood or even depending on the music I’m listening to.”

“… I like to think I am not just a well dressed FAT girl.”

“…I was reading one of your previous Bombshell’s comments and someone said the one line I HATE: ‘She dresses nice for a fat girl.’ I would like to think my style can relate to any woman who simply wants to be cute, sexy, and classy.”

” Due to my job in law enforcement it is hard going from one end of a spectrum to another. I find any free time is fashion time.”

“For so long I was under the impression that fashion was not for the FAT. “

“…I just want my fashion to be an inspiration!”

” I grew up not being able to afford the finer things. There was no place for fashion in my home growing up, so I would look at Vogue magazines and dream.”

“…Fashion is my life, my love, and my passion.”

” i currently have a blog www.afatgirlsblues.com. Let me know what you think of it.”

Cute looks and confidence for days. I love it, especially the animal print dress. Will be checking out your blog in two shakes!

Claire’s Life: The Exclusive Preview of Sean John’s Empress Fragrance at Ciroc’s Cabana Club in the Hamptons

Hey Hey Bombshells!
Yesterday I headed to the Hamptons to sample and smell Sean John’s newest scent for women, “Empress.

As the female counterpart to Diddy’s ‘I am King’ fragrance, Empress has a crisp, fruity smell, with a musky overtone that offers a slight masculine edge.

Diddy apparently designed the fragrance with a powerful, modern woman in mind, so tapped songstress Kelly Rowland as its ambassador. About 15 other bloggers, including Micah Jesse, Love Brown Sugar, and Jessica of the Glamazons Blog took a limo bus to the Ciroc Cabana Club in Sag Harbor to listen to tunes, munch on food from STK, sip Ciroc, and smell Empress:

For the occasion, I pulled out my consummate ‘Hamptons’ outfit: a Billie romper by Boxing Kitten and United Nude Möbius sandals (yes I partook in their fantastic 50% off summer sale!):

I also blinged it out in my favorite bangles by Jessie Adore and an “I’m Fly” ring by Melody Ehsani:

Of course I couldn’t go to the Hamptons without my vintage sunnies from Screaming Mimi’s and my new white Iphone! How else can one tweet in all that sun?

I added a few finishing touches: OPI black shatter polish over Ciate long lasting nail polish in big yellow taxi, a Claire necklace I got made on Broadway in Soho (I thought it was fun!), and a purple bag I found on London’s Brick Lane:

It was perfect to chill by the poolside with a few of my favorite peeps from the blogosphere:

Kelly Rowland actually showed up, but was in a super duper rush, so aside from a speech, didn’t offer The Fashion Bomb a picture or a video (womp). She did look gorgeous, however, in a plum jersey dress with smashing gold accessories:

It was a fun time!

Empress will debut at select Macy’s department stores nationwide. Will you be checking it out?

Smootches!
Photos by the fabulous Marta McAdams (isn’t she the bomb?)
*Beauty Notes: It was super hot, so I simply applied a bit of MAC’s sea green liner on my lower waterline along with a flourish of Afrobella’s All of my Purple Life gloss.
*Like my romper? I have a brand spanking new one in a size 10 to give away! If that’s your size (or you want to try it on and tailor it down), leave a comment telling me how you’d wear it. I’ll select a reader at random to similarly rock with Boxing Kitten in style this summer. I will choose 1 lucky reader at random. The contest ends Friday, August 5th, 2011 – 11:59 PM EST.

New York Giveaway: Win a $50 Gift Certificate to Polish Bar of Brooklyn!

The music is always bumping, the staff is to die, and service is quick and courteous. You’re gonna love this gift card!
I understand pampering and getting pretty is a luxury and out of the budget for many. If that’s the case for you, leave a comment telling us how much a mani/pedi would mean to you (or someone you know who needs a little R&R). I’ll choose based on need!

The winner will also be invited to Polish Bar’s super exclusive party on Thursday, August 11th. Fun!
So leave a comment and tell us why you deserve to get pretty!
I will choose 1 lucky reader at random. You must follow all rules to qualify. The contest ends Monday, August 8th, 2011 – 11:59 PM EST.

Wardrobe Query: Leona Lewis’s Nobu Dinner Crystal Studded Sandals

Tisha says, “ I saw a picture this morning of Leona Lewis wearing these sickening studded platform heels.

“… I must know who the designer is. I’m addicted to all things studded, lol.”
Leona Lewis hit the town in what appear to be $750 Giuseppe Zanotti Powder Pink Crystal Studded Sandals:

*Update: Reader Sade noticed that while Leona’s shoes have a platform, the Zanotti’s do not. Reader C came to rescue, finding a lower priced version of the Zanotti shoes–plus a platform–for $185 at Bakers.

Get the Bakers version here or get the look with the options below:

Cherina says, “I am nominating this beautiful young lady by the name of Annisa.”

” Annisa has an ultra-chic style.”

“… And she always looks perfectly classy, elegant, and polished.”

Annisa, I think your friend described you to a T! Polished, classy…all of the above.
