Claire’s Life: Viva Las Vegas!

Happy Monday!
So I was graciously invited by Sundrop to attend the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada, and share my thoughts on the show via Twitter.

Before attending the show, I did of course get a chance to experience Vegas. A few of my fave activities included….
Taking a helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon with Serenity Tours:

Sure, gliding thousands of feet in the air is slightly terrifying, but there’s nothing like seeing one of the seven natural wonders of the world via helicopter. The price includes over a one hour tour, breakfast, a beverage, and a moment to view the Canyon from inside. It was amazing.

Spending time by the pool:

Of course no trip to Vegas would be complete without some requisite time spent sunning poolside. Though I popped by both MGM’s and Monte Carlo’s pools, I’d highly suggest hitting up Ditch Fridays at the Palms.

Entry is about $30, but be prepared for great beats, fun drinks, and lots of eye candy.
The nightlife:

While I didn’t sample the night life too much, I did pop by 1Oak at the Mirage after the awards show. The space is vast and the bass is bumping. You’ll surely have a good time!
Other must sees include the light show at the Bellagio, and just a simple walking tour of all the hotels.

I’m not much of a gambler, but naturally, there’s lots of that as well:

And that’s all I got!
What are some of your favorite things to do in Vegas?

In case you want to know what I wore…
Look 1: Roberto Cavalli Dress. Christian Louboutin pumps. YSL clutch. Jenny Dayco earrings. J.Crew necklace.
Look 2: BCBG Cyprien Asymmetrical Top. Bar III Tropical Floral Shorts. Belle by Sigerson Morrison Flat Sandals. Prada Sunglasses.
Looks 3-4: Carmen Marc Valvo Palm Harbour One-Shoulder Maillot. Venus Bikini. Missoni Fringe Poncho.

Photos taken by me and my girl A Belle in Brooklyn (pictured), who kicked it in Vegas with me!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Naty from New Jersey

Happy Friday!
We’re closing out this fantastic week with Naty from New Jersey:

She says, “I started up my own fashion blog, www.aloveaffairwithfashion.blogspot.com, back in December, and my goal has just been to try and inspire others with my personal style.”

“I love being creative and fashion is just another way for me to be able to do that.”

“For the most part, I shop at inexpensive stores and I like being able to show people that it’s not always about the brand you are wearing.”

” You can easily take an inexpensive piece and make it look expensive by the way you style it. “

“My style is a mix of chic & classy, simple & feminine, and flirty & edgy. I’m pretty versatile and I love to switch it up on a daily basis but there’s certain staple pieces, like blazers, that I always gravitate towards.”

I like to keep up with the latest trends, but that doesn’t mean I will wear something just because it’s trendy. If I don’t personally like it, then I won’t wear it just because everyone else is.”

“At the end of the day, I think the most important thing is to be confident and comfortable in your own skin and make sure that the clothes you wear reflect who you are as an individual. :)”

How cute are you? Love all your looks, but the floral pants might have to be my fave.
What say you Bombers and Bombshells?

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Mariama from London

Today we’re showing our UK readers some love with Mariama from London:

The 22-year-old writes, “I love The Fashion Bomb and think the styles you always show are soo fabulous.

“I love to change my hairstyles and wear clothes to compliment my looks.”

” I love bright colours as they accentuate my features…”

“…and I like to stand out.”

” I love to enjoy my life.”

” I’m currently in my final year at University.”

Your looks are certainly saucy! Cute. I would’ve loved to see a full shot of that elegant black dress.

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Amber from Brooklyn

Happy Monday!
Today’s Bombshell is one of Brooklyn’s best! Check out Madame Amber, a blogger for www.Beautyandthestreetmag.blogspot.com:

She writes, “My style is very eclectic but I am mainly inspired by all aspects of street culture and music.”

“…I love mixing different styles together to create a look that is unique to my personal aesthetic.”

” For example, I will wear vintage trousers in a bright color or print with a plain white t-shirt, lots of jewelry, and extremely dark or extremely bright lipstick. I’m also a bit of a tomboy so everything I wear has to have a boyish edge to it.”

” If I wear a dress and heels I’ll throw on a beat up leather jacket or if I’m wearing tight jeans my shirt will be a bit baggy.”

” I tend to be drawn to things that most people shy away from like an old shirt in an outdated pattern or ugly Christmas sweaters. I’m all about taking chances, you live once why the hell not?”

” Fashion wise I look up to Slash from Guns n Roses and Kelis. Rock & Roll and Hip-hop play a huge part of my life especially my style.”

Different, funky, I like! I think you’re probably the first Bombshell to cite Slash from Guns N Roses as a style inspiration, but it works, and I can see it!

Fashion Bomber of the Day: Roman from New Jersey

I decided to close out the week with Fashion Bomber Roman from Trenton, New Jersey:

The self described, ‘Foreign Manikin’ writes, “I couldn’t tell you how my style was even if I wanted to.”

” I always feel like I can do whatever I want. In reality I can’t do EVERY single thing I want, but dressing the way I feel gives me a powerful feeling knowing I’m being risky! It satisfies me.”

“… I like to plan 3 hours before heading out to get dressed because being under pressure to look nice brings the creativity out of me like no other!”

” I have dressed so may ways that now I can go up different avenues of styles and it be accepted more.”

“… Most importantly my confidence helps me wear the clothes instead of them wearing me :)”

Your style is fearless and shows lots of range! I’m sure not everyone will ‘get’ your looks, but I can always appreciate someone willing to take sartorial risks.

Today we’re hopping down south with Krystal from Texas:

The Houston resident writes, “My style varies…”

“…I like to keep things fun as well as sexy, but not over the top.”

” I truly believe in the statement that “less is more!””

“… I own a boutique: www.Sarai-Sarai.com, and every time I go out, I try to wear a piece from the boutique.”

“… Everything I sell, I wear. It’s totally a reflection of my personal style.”

Cute, flavorful, fun: my favorite look might have to be your peachy maxi dress.

“… I love bright colors and patterns and will always stay true to that, but I’m definitely becoming a lot more sophisticated.”

“You’ll find a little bit of everything in my closet.”

“Simple basic cardigans and button up shirts to bright printed blouses and animal print skirts.”

” I think fashion is fun and one of the easiest ways to express yourself.”

Alright! Your looks are cute and comfortable. Loving your blue blazer/yellow top/green scarf combo.

She writes, “I am Nigerian but I live in London…”

“I own a fashion blog called beebaswardrobe.blogspot.com and a YouTube
channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/thebeebanetwork?feature=mhee

“My style is very free, I dress according to how I feel…I love a lot of shapes and colors and lots of vintage blazers and dresses.”

“My style icon is Marilyn Monroe. When i get married I’ll probably wear pencil dresses everyday and vintage girdles with a pin up style.”

“My style isn’t the same everyday but I will always opt for something really classic.”

Hey Beeba! I love what you sent in, but would have liked to see more. Your green blazer and patterned top was my favorite ensemble; wish we could’ve seen the head to toe look.
