Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Whitney from Atlanta

Atlanta always represents! But what do you think of Whitney’s style?

She says, “ I am a Visual Merchandiser and Style Blogger.”

You featured my fellow blogger Dave earlier this spring and I thought it was time I show the other stylish voice behind Off-Glass.com.”

” I would definitely consider my style to be original, powerful and effortlessly chic.”

I love to play with color and prints…”

“…. and did I mention I’m a sucker for accessories?”

“Hope you enjoy!”

Your looks are certainly original. I think you described yourself well. I love that printed sweater/shawl and shorts combo.
What say you?

Claire’s Life: BlackAtlas.com Celebrates Celebrity Ambassador Laz Alonso at the Studio Museum in Harlem

Happy Saturday!
So last night I trekked from Brooklyn to Harlem to attend an event celebrating Laz Alonso as the new celebrity ambassador for American Airlines’s African-American focused website, BlackAtlas.com. Normally on Fridays I’m totally depleted from the week…and a one hour ride up to 125th seemed more than daunting. But I put on a fresh face and went. I’m glad I motivated!

Loads of colorful folk came out to celebrate Laz’s new appointment, including TV host Tanika Ray, Jennifer Williams of Basketball Wives fame, Robert Townsend, Al Reynolds, BJ Coleman, Phillip Bloch, and more. With a performance by Melanie Fiona, it was definitely a dope night!

But of course I busied myself taking loads of Real Style for your viewing enjoyment:

Iman looked lovely in all vintage everything, including a flowered frock and a belt that once belonged to her father.

This dapper gentleman exuded Harlem chic in a tie, driver’s cap, and rolled up chinos.

How hot does Chasity look? The model divulged she was wearing a design by Ms. Tina Knowles. Work!

Ebony Magazine editor Janell always looks chic! And I loved her friend Robert’s rolled camouflage pants and loafers.

Brandice of Harlem’s Fashion Row looked crisp in a wide lapel white jacket, jeans, and pink stilettos.

My homegirl Demetria Lucas from the blog A Belle in Brooklyn stays fly. She flaunted a new hair color along with a floral printed dress, peach pumps, and her signature: a Louis Vuitton bag.

Solio and Beau showcased pieces from Beau’s button laden line. Like? See more at www.beaumccall.com.

Tracey looked summer ready in a purple dress and gold accents.

I couldn’t help but take a picture of Southern gentleman Renaldo, who boldly embraced Ikat shorts and high striped socks.

This young lady looked gorgeous in a hot pink Myne silk dress. If it looks familiar, Khloe Kardashian and Tika Sumpter have worn it before. She’s selling it!

And Isis was lovely in animal print and wide legged pants.

Of course no Real Style run down would be complete without cameos from Fashion Bomb readers! There were quite a few in the house, including Ashley, an intern at Vibe Magazine. How cute is her dress?

Kim also came up to say hey, looking party perfect in a blue dress and black sandals.
As for me…!

I can’t overstate how much I’m loving rompers and jumpsuits this summer. I’m a dress kind of gal (mainly for the ease of getting ready) and to me, jumpsuits offer a cool, unexpected alternative. For my night uptown, I slipped on a black Catherine Malandrino one piece, and made it all pop with a Cashhimi clutch (yes, I’m loving them right now). Clad in my jumpsuit, I bopped around the party taking pix, noshing on hors d’oevres, and saying hiii to friends:

It was a fun night!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Jessica and Janelle from New York

I don’t think we’ve ever had a sister duo submit for Bombshell of the Day, but I figured…why not?

Jessica and Janelle from New York shop together, grew up together, and blog together…so why not submit together?

The minds behind www.GIRLSOFFFIFTH.com write, “It’s hard to put our style into a few words.”

Jessica is known for buttoned up collars…”

“… and high hem lines”

Janelle prefers a slightly more undone and minimalist approach…”

“… and is a sucker for a plunging back or neckline.”

” We have very eclectic taste and are attracted to a lot of the same pieces whether edgy, bohemian or classic.”

” The difference is in the styling.”

Gorgeous! Lovely! Every look is on point. Check out their blog at www.girlsofffifth.com and follow them on Facebook here and Twitter @Girls_Off_Fifth.

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Melissa from New Jersey

We’re keeping it in the Northeast for today’s Bombshell, Melissa from New Jersey:

She says, “I consider my style to be easy, everyday chic.

” I LOVE flats! Is that weird?”

” Most girls feel sexy in heels, but I feel sexy when I’m most comfortable.”

” Wear what you want!”

” Who cares what people think?”

” I think I’m pretty damn fabulous, and that’s all that matters!”

” Be a leader, not a follower! “

Ok! I’m getting everyday chic as well. I love your patterned pants! Cute!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Johnnybell from New York

It’s Bombshell time! Take a look at Johnnybell from New York:

The blogger for www.NYTrendyMoms.com really didn’t have much to say:

She simply wrote, “My style is young…”

“… and classy.”

” I hope to be featured.”

But, of course! Though your submission was short and sweet, I can tell you ooze style. I *love* that animal print shirtdress and those two tone sandals are to die for.

Claire’s Life: Kelly Rowland’s TW Steel Watch Launch Event with Adrienne Bailon, Rocsi Diaz, Tika Sumpter, and More!

New York nights can bring on so many unexpected events. One minute you’re walking along, minding your business, the next you’re at a star filled party, sliding by Jonathan Cheban and chatting with a former Destiny’s Child. It’s all in a day’s work for the Fashion Bomb…!

Last night I ventured into the city from my Brooklyn hovel to attend a fitting for the Blogher conference fashion show (Oh yeah, I didn’t tell you? I’m walking in a fashion show on Saturday. If you’re in NYC and want to come, stay tuned to Twitter for details). At any rate, my friend hit me up, asking if I wanted to be his plus one to a Kelly Rowland/TW Steel watch event at the Boom Boom Room. Of course I said, “Sure!
Check out a few official flicks:

Adrienne Bailon and Rocsi Diaz were in the house, with Adrienne in an Isabel Marant dress, Jimmy Choo sandals, and a Gucci clutch. Rocsi flaunted a pair of enviable Christian Louboutin Unbout Pumps in Neon, along with Rag & Bone Grand Prix Paneled Midrise Skinny Jeans and an Aiko Metallic Open Back Sweater.

Tika Sumpter and Jessica White posed with the evening’s host, with Tika in Mara Hoffman Aztec Printed High Waist Pants and Jimmy Choo Letitia Sandals and Jessica in a vintage sequined number.

And the woman of the hour glowed in an Alexander McQueen Raspberry Draped Ruffle V-Neck Dress and Alexander McQueen snakeskin sandals.
Check out a few of my Iphone pix:

I was wearing a Topshop peplum top along with a pair of leopard Zara pants, a Cashhimi bag and Isabel Marant sandals. I wouldn’t have called myself ‘party ready,’ though it was acceptable! Essence.com took my picture, stay tuned for the full view. Hope it’s good.
At any rate, it was a fun night!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Fisayo from London

It’s been a little while since we’ve had a London Bombshell, eh? Well today breaks the drought. Check out Fisayo from the UK:

She writes, “My style can’t be described in a few words or put into a box as I am constantly diving into unfamiliar territory.”

” In every outfit I wear, there is likely to be an element of chic, vintage and/or edginess.”

” If an outfit is very ladylike, I am likely to juxtapose it by throwing in some studs, spikes or leather.”

” I love contrast and I love leather, exaggerated shoulders…”

“… glitter and varying textures.”

” My style is influenced by places I’ve been, my fashion icons, blogs I follow, editorials and trends I like.”

” I enjoy sharing my love for fashion, lifestyle and travel on my blog Mirror Me (www.mirrorme.me).”

” Styling outfits makes me truly happy and looking good is a great confidence boost especially on a grey winter’s day.”

“You know that quote ‘stressed, depressed, but well dressed’? I love it.”

You can keep up with me on Instagram (http://web.stagram.com/n/mirrormemore/), twitter (https://twitter.com/mirrormemore) and facebook (https://www.facebook.com/mirrormemore).”

The London Bombshells and Bombers always bring it, and today is no exception! Love those leopard pants and that white Zara Jumpsuit!

” I am an independent stylist and blogger @ mapstyling.com.”

” My older sister describes me as an Educated Hot Chic from the Hood.”

” My style is urban . . . vintage . . . polished . . . and always evolving.”

“I like to mix vintage pieces with contemporary and I prefer jewelry that can be seen from across the room.”

“My life & style motto is: to always put your best foot forward because you never know who you’ll meet that’s waiting to bless your socks off.”

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: T’Wana from the British Virgin Islands

We’re ending this week on a Caribbean note with T’wana from the British Virgin Islands:

You may remember, I snapped her pic in my recap of Summer Sizzle BVI. She was kind enough to send in a few flicks for her Bombshell feature:

The stylish mind behind HeelsNPoses.Blogspot.com says, “I grew up in the Caribbean but have been living in the US (now Orlando, Florida) for the last 12 years.”

” As a result I define my style as island chic.”

” I accomplish this by incorporating lots of color into my looks.”

” It just brightens up my day and reminds me a lot of the atmosphere I grew up in.”

” Plus I love the way bright colors compliment my skin tone. =)”

” When I walk into a store I’m always drawn to the edgier pieces first.”

” I love pairing edgier pieces with more feminine items.”

” My fashion philosophy is there are no boundaries with fashion. “

” If you like it, try it. You’ll never know what works for you until you try it. “

What a stylish way to end the week! Island girl, stand up! Love your use of color, and your unexpected accessories. Love! See more of her style at www.heelsnposes.blogspot.com.
