The 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala took place last night, with a smattering of scintillating stars gracing the black carpet.
Let’s take a look!

Can J. Lo stop slaying my life for one second?!? La Lopez went for daring in a low cut Gucci sequined gown. Hot!

Selena Gomez also took the plunge in a Gucci sequined number.

Jamie Foxx was the definition of dapper in a black tux, finished with a velvet bowtie.

Chadwick Boseman also went for a sophisticated two piece, pursing his lips for added effect.

51-year-old Demi Moore looked ageless in a black, floor sweeping Zac Posen creation.

Camilla Belle wore my favorite color, periwinkle, on the carpet, and wore it well.

Michelle Rodriguez showed off her gams in a high slit white dress.

China Chow kept the Halloween spirit going in a Moschino Fall 2014 Hershey Wrapper Dress. I’m low key delighted that someone was daring enough to wear one of Jeremy Scott’s runway creations to an event.

Salma Hayek was resplendent in a white Gucci gown, equipped with silver embellishments.

Toni Garn plucked a similar white gown from the brand for the festivities.

Kate Hudson looked like a goddess in a one shoulder draped Gucci gown in blush pink.

Cara Delevingne showed some leg in a long black gown.

Life is good for Kim and Kanye West!

Kim laughed it up with her hubby in a teal satin stunner from Cushnie et Ochs’s Spring 2015 collection and Tom Ford silver sandals.

The event, which champions artists of African-American descent, brimmed over with notables from the fashion, beauty, entertainment, and political world. It was my first Gala, so I was happy to be there!

I attended as a guest and not press, so didn’t bring Pierre with me inside (hence the Iphone photos–my bad!).
Instead of go with a typical gown, I decided to take a risk in a whiteTopshop tuxedo anchored by a sequined shirt.

Stuart Weitzman nudist sandals and silver rings completed my look.

Gotta admit: I ultimately felt a tad underdressed!
But I have another gala coming up next month (I’m on Ebony Magazine’s 2014 Power 100 List, and have been invited to attend their gala in LA on November 19th).

The search is on for the perfect Gala dress!
Until then, thoughts on my choice?
