Happy Sunday!
I’m here in Atlanta, recovering from a whirlwind weekend at the BET Hip Hop Awards!
As I mentioned here, it was my first awards show, and I was super juiced to cover the Red Carpet for Fashion Bomb Daily!
While I thought I’d get to ask everyone a litany of questions, the reality was: There were a lot of outlets there, so we all had to compete for interviews. I was standing close to MTV News and Bossip, and most celebs would speak to them then skip over little ol me. LOL.
So I decided to get whatever videos I could…
And take selfies/pix if nothing else:
It worked out well!
At any rate, I asked most people who they were wearing (at least), so here’s a quick rundown:
106 & Park’s very own Shad Moss looked dapper in a custom black on black creation, topped off by red Givenchy sneakers.
A resounding ‘Yasssss‘ goes to Wendy Raquel Robinson, who had one of the best looks of the evening in a House of Chapple ensemble. I might have to scoop this up before I head back to NYC. Hot!
At any rate, it was fun, but working the red carpet is WERK. Getting all those ids is no joke!
But it was a great training ground, and now I’m ready to tackle my next carpet!
Until then, see more pictures in our Gallery, and shop a few looks in our BET Hip Hop Awards shop.
Who do you think was best dressed?

I’m so excited about today’s Bomb Blogger, Micah Gianneli!
With exceptional photography and stunning beauty, Micah’s style blog has become one of my go-to sources for inspiration. From jumpsuits to denim on denim, this fashionista can rock absolutely anything, and has definitely solidified a place in my favorites.
Micah embraces a neutral aesthetic while still managing to create distinct and memorable looks. Not shy about showing a little skin, she’s unquestionably fearless when it comes to incorporating trends. With a mean sunnies game and that signature pixie cut, Micah knows how to jazz up any look.
Micah’s blog is just as awesome as she is. Not only does she discuss fashion but she also writes about other topics including hair, makeup and travel. In addition, she also manages a YouTube channel – you can check that out here. Is there anything this woman can’t do? I truly believe Micah Gianneli is worthy of Bomb Blogger status – I mean, she’s fun, confident and undeniably cool. Now, if that doesn’t define a Bomb Blogger, I don’t know what does.
Want to know more about Micah? Check out her IG @micahgianneli or make a quick trip to her blog here.

Today’s Bombshell, Maureen, hails all the way from Kenya!
She types, “Hi, so I finally had the courage to submit my photos 🙂 Been a fan of the site for far too long.”
“My style is simple one time and edgy the next.”
” I love colour and prints as they compliment my skin tone really well.”
” Since I live in a coastal town, the hot climate definitely influences my choice of wardrobe everyday but I try to be true to myself.”
I’m glad you finally submitted! You’re adorable. Can’t wait to start following your blog!

We’ve got a bit of island flavor with today’s Bombshell!
Take a look at what purple haired Tia from Jamaica sent our way:
She wrote, “I’m a student, fashion merchandiser and a blogger :)”
Jazzy and fabulous. I love this!

So Fashion Week is officially over, and lots of hot new fashion debuted on New York’s catwalks. The amount of shows seemed to be on 100,000 this year, but we’ve curated a list of 10 Bomb Black Designers that should stay on your radar.
South African designer David Tlale melded contemporary with culture for his Spring 2015 show, offering a mix of African affiliated Dutch Super Wax Empire Vlisico fabrics with the more muted, hushed tones championed by New York brands.
Light catching pink, orange, and blush shared the stage with fantastically printed hot shorts, dresses, and vests, ensuring that everyone in attendance would find something to pique their sartorial senses.
A stunning range of black models, led by Tyson Beckford, ensured a spectacularly impactful visual onslaught.
Industry veteran B. Michael honed his singular skills under the tutelage of Oscar de La Renta and Louis Feraud, setting the stage for the simple, elegant aesthetic his Spring 2015 couture collection conveyed.
Prim flared frocks, dotted with florals, were accessorized by hats fit for a First Lady; scintillating pants and bell sleeved shirts seemed perfectly pegged for a Park Avenue princess.
B Michael’s offerings were elegance personified, fashioning frocks and fabrics fit for an American Queen.
Created by designer Ufuoma Ekpecham, UK brand Josh & Nicol strives to promote African pride without the typical attachment to Dutch wax prints and fabrics. Their collection, instead, encompasses easy chiffon and satin pieces, decorated with the side profile of Queen Idia, the 17th century warrior queen of the Benin Kingdom.
Tops and blazers boast a cameo of this powerful woman, telling the story of her attachment to bold jewelry, lipstick, and baubles with embellishments.

4. Azede Jean Pierre
This season she continued her nature inspired predilections with leaf print separates, and also played with larvae and butterfly imprints on lace.
She also dipped her toe into knitwear, with crop tops and skirts sets and dresses boasting fantastic fringe.
Stay tuned for the review.
In the meantime, learn more about Azede here.
5. 5:31 Jerome
As I wrote here, 5:31 Jerome’s collection was inspired by the notion of a desert mirage, given an extra dose of glamour with sequins, jewels, and scintillating accessories.
Both tailored an insouciant, standout pieces included big buttoned shorts and pants suits, paired with ethereal blouses, and lemon hued safari vests, worn with shorts, and topped off by granular lace ups.
Smith’s signature sex appeal was on 10, witnessed by delightfully sheer shirts dotted in glitter, and scandalously cropped tops paired with midi skirts.
Project Runway winner Dom Streater showed her collection to a packed crowd at No.8 in the Meatpacking District. Her Spring 2015 foray took inspiration from flight attendants with pizzazz; think printed separates topped by stewardess hats and accessorized by chic carry ons.
Colors skewed neutral with blacks, whites, and blues with pops of red. Swirling shifts could carry you from the office to the after party.
After designing for a slew of urban brands (The Nicki Minaj Collection, Jay Z’s Rocawear, Nelly’s Apple Bottoms, Nicky Hilton’s Chic, Eve’s Fetish, Sean Comb’s Sean John, Justin Timberlake’s William Rast), Kianga Kitty Peterson decided to launch her own line of resort wear, made for the girl who wants to look glamorously chic while traveling the world. Spring 2015 saw jumpsuits, cute coverups, and stomach cinching dresses with intricate details.
Harlem Haberdashery is known for their Varsity inspired, prep pieces, fashioned for the urban man on the go. Their runway show, presented during Harlem’s Fashion Row, took a dark turn with everyone from Fat Joe modeling contrast sweatpants and a swaddling jacket, to models rocking military inspired pieces.
Byron Lars also showed during HFR’s show, with items curated for the woman on the go. With no shortage of sparkles, eyelets, and prints, the collection was not for the shrinking violet, but for the woman unafraid to shine.
This is a quick rundown. I’ll be reviewing individual shows soon.
Until then, do you see anything you love? Is there anyone we neglected to mention?
