In a new discrimination suit against Zara, a former employee says senior staff “exchanged racist emails, including emails portraying Michelle Obama serving fried chicken and emails depicting Barack Obama in a Ku Klux Klan hood, with a Confederate flag, on a Cream of Wheat box, on an Aunt Jemima box, and shining shoes.” In addition to this, the employee alleges that he was personally discriminated against for being gay and Jewish and is asking for $40 million in damages. As an update on the developing Tony Award’s story we’ve been tracking for two weeks: Anna Wintour isn’t the only fashion name attached to the festivities this year. American Theatre Wing chair William Ivey Long, who is instrumental in the awards, admitted that the late Joan Rivers ended up having a lot of influence on this ongoing transition to make the event gain in popularity. But amongst the living, editors from Teen Vogue and Vanity Fair as well as the team at KCD have assisted in styling about 130 attendees. The show will appear on CBS Sunday. (Fashionista)
If you can’t afford Victoria Beckham’s clothes, she’s thinking about you. In a recent interview, the star said “I would love to do something like an H&M collaboration. I’d like to work on clothing pricing and I’d like to reach more people, and I would like to offer clothes to people who don’t want to pay designer prices. I want to reach out to that customer.” Though she has been approached with the opportunity with before, she said it’s only now that it’s the right opportunity. (StyleBlazer)

Alessandro Michele’s latest collection for Gucci—his second for the iconic Italian fashion house—was reminiscent of a few former fashion eras that felt a bit bizarre when compared with the brand’s assortments of the past few years. Naturally, there’s nothing fashion loves more than designs that seem a bit out of place: quirk and whimsy are the things street style snaps and highly-liked Instagram posts are made of in this modern age.
The retro inspiration and creativity here were heavy, though there was a healthy helping of modernity to go along with them both. The pieces were incredibly ornamental and sometimes offbeat including pom pom-accented lace-up pumps, lace-laden button-front cardigans, zigzag print suits, berets paired with sheer tunics, and hippie chic lace maxi dresses with bell sleeves and allover floral embroidery.
At times, the wares had a downright nerdy flair. A pink suit for the gents that seemed to emerge straight out of an 80’s film, oversized square tortoise shell glasses accompanied by a prim and proper shirtdress, fringe-accented loafers with functional block heels, and smart button-front shirt and trouser combinations were all on display.
A girlish tinge shined through with a wispy tiered gown cinched at the waist with a rosette-embellished belt, a pink quilted coat with fur cuffs, flower and insect-embroidered toppers, and sheer pleated skirts. A printed fur-collared coat felt very Margot Tenenbaum, while a bubblegum pink fur skirt suit was one of the collection’s most impractical looks, but sugary sweet from start to finish.
Colors were fiery and vibrant including mustard, teal, fuchsia, baby blue, and more.
Lace injected romance by way of sheer camisoles, a sheer long-sleeve LBD, a knee-length full-skirted frock that was among the most demure of the designs at hand, and a collared shirt dress that was too short for the office, but could easily work for a night out or a cocktail party.
There was a whole lot of grandiosity present and though it wasn’t for the faint of heart, it was refreshing to see from Gucci. Michele has only been at the design helm for two seasons and the brand couldn’t look more different than it did under Frida Giannini. I think I can speak for many in the industry when I say I’m excited to see how his reign at the fashion house develops.
Her icy blue lambskin cropped biker jacket features epaulettes on the shoulders, notched lapels, an off-center front zip fastening, side zipped pockets, long sleeves, and zip cuffs.
Her bright red flares showcase seamed detailing, a high-rise, zip fly with a button closure, tonal stitching, and silver-tone logo hardware.
Last, but not least is her grey leather bag which features a top handle silhouette, adjustable, detachable shoulder strap, a flap front with fringing, satchel belt straps, and a metal lock closure.
Cute!

Janelle Monae is on a red carpet roll!
The songstress stopped by the Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner in a red and black embroidered Tracy Reese Dress and Vatanika Pants:
Red lips, Jennifer Fisher Jewels, and a Rodo clutch brought her look to fruition.
Her coat was modeled over a printed mini dress in Reese’s Fall 2015 collection.
Slay! The caped looks seem be becoming her new signature, but they werk for her!

“My style…I really can’t put my finger on it.”
” I feel like, it all depends on my mood.”
” Somedays I’m feeling a little more casual, or dressy.”
” Depending on what errands or events I’ll be attending that day, but I don’t think there is only one particular look that I wear.”
” I do strive to always keep it class, with the rise of crop tops and high waisted shorts aka, booty shorts- I’m kind of old fashioned with my street style.”
” Above all things, keep it simple.”
